“Big improvement from last time - At least I didn't have to wait a long time for the awards this time compared to when it was held at Muhaisnah. I thought it was better organized this time around. My only complaint would be the lack of results availability at the finish line. As I had other things to do that day, I wanted to leave early but did not want to miss out on the award in case I made it to the top three in my age category. Luckily, I waited and learned i made it to the top 3! Would be nice to know this beforehand.”

“It is generally the case that organizers announce winners (and therefore official results) only at the presentation. Should winners be announced earlier it is likely that most non-winners, having no need to stay, would leave which would result in a loss of ambiance and support at prize giving for the winners. Congratulations on your podium place!”

“Timing glitches - Overall in my own experience, it was fine. However, for our friends, their results were not shown. Bibs should have to identify whether they are running for 3k, 5k, or 10k. The course map was boring to make 2 laps and has no timing detector in between. Breakfast coffee & muffin is fine but there should be some fruit apple or banana. The giveaways should be given to all 10k runners and not as a raffle. No t-shirt included for the cost. ”

““In the interest of inclusion (for those of low income) the organizer invited a number of runners to compete without registration/payment. They took part in the same race but were not eligible for awards and of course were not timed. All registered/paid runners were identified from their registration criteria which is used for production of results. Obviously if runners register in category (distance) X, but actually run distance Y this is both incorrect, cause for disqualification and slows/delays results as these disqualified runners are removed from the results. We hope this explanation clarifies for you.””

“Disappointed :( - The signage for U- Turn is small and not visible as it is placed on the road. They should hang it eye level for the runners to notice immediately. There are runners that are not inluded in the list of results and the marshalls are only standing there without guiding the 10k runners if they need to do the U turn. The organizers couldnt identify the runners category because the bib numbers has the same colors. The result and and awarding of winners are inaccurate.”

“A good event but.... - Collecting the bib was a very unpleasant experience. The guy from premier timing was giving people that turned up at 6.15 a hard time for being late. This is a recreational event....no need for the negative attitude. It created a bad atmosphere.”

“We're sorry you felt this and assure you no offense was intended. However, every registered runner was sent an SMS the evening before the race that clearly stated: "Know your bib # for the Wellman Road Run to collect your bib/chip pack between 5-6am ONLY (no collection after 6am)!" The purpose behind the deadline is to enable the rest of the preparation for the organized event to take place in the final 15 minutes so as to not delay the start (unfortunately a far too common occurrence) for everyone who arrived in time. Imagine if everyone turned up at 6:15! Your summer (recreational) holiday often starts with a flight and if you're not at the gate on time you may not be reasoned with but you are likely to miss your flight entirely! Hopefully if enough encouragement is given, everyone will arrive in sufficient time for events and everyone will benefit from a lack of queues and a prompt start; this is what everyone actually wants, right? Organizers and their service providers work very hard to make these events run well and on time; they are first in and last out, but a well run event is a collaboration which includes participants following event communications as well. We hope the next event will be a much more pleasant experience for you.”

“Timing hitches - In general it’s fine. But there are recurrent timing issues and awarding overall winners in age category as well. Minor snags which can be sorted ”
