“great event - New age category required - 55 to 59 to match other athletic events in the region. Better timer flags for the pacers - square instead of HSE problematic triangles to poke out an eye. Step on far side creek in the new are not good and very twisty - but to be able to run full length on the other side of the creek for 5+ years was great. ”

“Great event, just a few niggles. - The organisation is excellent, as well as the route/volunteers. Two things to improve perhaps: - Most of the group starts were staggered, except the last two, where it seemed the last two groups were just announced and lumped together. I had joined the 2.15 pacer group, only to lose sight of them as soon as we started moving. - No fruit at the refreshment stations. The sports drink gave me very bad cramps, and seriously affected my timing (15 mins slower than last year).”

“Great, but more obvious signage would be better - The whole thing was great fun - a really great atmosphere at the beginning and end of the event, great breakfast afterwards, really easy and convenient for everything (e.g. bag storage, toilets, etc. were plentiful). The one thing I had difficulty with was the signage: though I was told afterwards that there was a sign for each kilometre, I only saw about 1 out of every 3 or 4, despite the fact that I was actively looking for them. Maybe my fault, but would have liked them to be unmissable!”

“Brilliant course, well planned, very enjoyable! - Suggestions: Medal: Unique, but can be too bulky because of the size, could consider one size smaller or a different shape/color. (Too much color makes it look very busy) Event Pack: Contents are great, but having an item like a keychain (as before) or a mug or anything else which can serve as a companion for runners throughout the year would be better than single use & throw items. Summary: This was my first time and I loved it. Keep up the great work and hats off to the entire team! ”

“Well organised event! - I can't fault much from this event and really enjoyed it. The only slight negatives - athletes should not be permitted to use earphones on this course. There were some places where we could only run single file/2 abreast and it's difficult to pass anyone who can't hear you due to earphones. With some many roadworks etc it is dangerous to not be aware of surroundings. The breakfast was also disappointing. We waited for a friend who came in around 3 hours and by that time a lot of food had run out”

The course is beautiful (I especially liked running through the new shops near the embassies this year; the area was shaded, properly paved, pleasant to look at, and closer to the creek on the return route). This is THE event to participate in if living in the UAE. ”

From a sustainability point of view loved the reusable race cup - however needed info on it as thought it was some sort of contraception initially! Also there was no way of using it on the day. People need to be made aware of the plastic wastage on race days. Last year we had Coca Cola at 18k - it's my one time of year that I drink for a boost - missed it this year. Bravo - well done”

“Too many obstacles, constructions and cars - I can’t understand why particularly within the last kilometer the staff allowed cars to enter and disturb the runners. This is the most important part for those who had to make a big effort to finish and you have to move to the right because a taxi driver is touching the horn? Also many contructions areas along the race track, sometimes only one runner is able at the time. Poor organisation, I can’t see any improvement from the last time I run it. ”

“disappointed - It is unfair that the period for cancellations is a month ahead of the race as its far too early before the race. I got injured 3 weeks ago and was unable to take part and lost my money as a result. Anything could happen in the space of 4 weeks when training for a 21km race so it should really be reviewed for next years one. At least give people the option of passing their race number onto somebody else so its not a complete waste.”
