“A very scenic route - Overall a great event. Would be nice to acknowledge the first 3 runners overall in each distance and gender category and announce this first followed by age groups at the prize giving. New course records? The start was narrow and even though I was at the front there were runners who placed themselves directly on the start line and then just jogged slowly down the middle leaving the faster runners having to run around them. Good event giveaways & 1st place prize packs. Will be back next year! ”

“Good race, especially for the first time - Where are the race photos? I'd love to have the photos of me to share with family. The medals with the major Dubai buildings is nice.”

“Pretty route - My bib wasn't ready for pick up - annoying as I'd been told I couldn't pick it up on the morning, but ended up doing so anyway. Very scenic route, more help needed at the water station.”

“Great event but distance was short - Great event and location. Couple of points to improve: multiple devices measured distance around 200m short, parking should be marked better on Google map and less bridges to include if possible next time. But I will be back”

“Nice scenery but poor marshalling and directions - Was told to put Dubai Canal Station into Google maps to find the parking. On arrival there was no signage and in fact the start line was over other side of the canal.”

“Great event - Fantastic event - especially for the first time. Lovely route. Great atmosphere. Nice ceremony. Could the overall winners of 5km and 10km be announced? Great course - any chance the start could be wider next time? Race pack collection was fine, however it meant a rushed evening for us as we were flying in to Dubai but then people were collecting on the morning. Tshirt size wasn't available when we collected our packs. Location of the start could have been better explained - our taxi struggled”

“Not well organised - This being organised first time has much scope to improve. The route was good but very Narrow. The water station did not have sports drink. The distance was less than 10km both my GPS showed 9.8. Was not value for money ”

“Inexperience of the management team was evident - Directions to parking were inadequate and not fully accurate. Please appoint more diverse staff for organisation (include multiple nationalities / races). This event could use better management quality. ”

“Decent first effort - Good race. 1st 100 meters of the route was much too narrow-I easily lost 30 seconds off my final net time because I couldn't pass anyone at the beginning of the race. Make announcement to those who walk or run slowly to go to the back of the queue to start the race. 2nd- when you announce the winners, nobody could hear the bloke- he mumbled and his mic volume was too low. Tell him to announce the TIME of those who place (not just name). Some people want to see how close they were to placing.”

“Decent new event - Good event, only let down by the crowded start. More room needed to allow runners of different pace to not interfere with each other.”

“very scenic race - Great course, great atmosphere. Race pack didn't contain much - it didn't have to for this comparatively small event - but my friends and I would have appreciated the option to simply pick up the race bib on race day. The course seemed a little shorter than 10 K - our GPS watches recorded 9.8 km. Not a problem for us but more serious runners may have an issue with this. We didn't get a T-shirt - no big deal but some people like to keep them as a memory. Overall very enjoyable.”

“Enjoyable - Thoroughly enjoyed it. Made a nice change from running on roads and having something to look at. Would definitely recommend for social runners, maybe not for serious runners as due to the narrowing of canal paths, there will inevitably be the odd bottleneck. ”

“Race Pack Collection - Regarding with the registration they should indicate that no race shirt for those who will register with discount. We just found out during the race collection. They give us polo shirt in the event but we can’t wear it, It’s Race Me Uniform.”

“Nice course some small problems - Marshalls were not great. They did not give clear directions, some were on their phones. Water station weren't great. At one station only one person was handing out water. Other stations had people only getting water on one side of the course and none for the runners looping. Would definitely do it again. ”

“Staggered Starts required based on expected timing - Very tight start and initial 1-2km . staggering the starts on expected timing or previous results would maybe helped. Great to see so many participants though on a very scenic route. ”

“Very bad route! - The course is probably the worst running course in a race that I have participated in (locally & internationally). It was too tight, only 2 people can fit while running! The signage and marshalls could be waaay better.. I missed the turn for 5km and kept running as if I'm doing a 10km. The marshal was just 'posing'& not guiding the runners and because of this I did 6.5km instead, thank you very much! I hope, if you do this again next year, that you have a wider route and better marshals.”
