“Through my friends in Seha - Being my second time, Premier online did not inform me about this event by email. My friend works in Seha they received information and one of them told me. On Oct.10th, 2014, I participated in 10K run. Many categories were awarded: Professionals, bellow 60 years runners, above 60 years runners, Children runners. I stood second in age group. In Zayed marathon only professionals were awarded. I was expecting to win in age category but there was no award. No more comment.”

“Very long afternoon - 10k run started too late, esp. for saturday race, also half against the sun, half already after sunset, the timing should be adjusted next time for better convenience of runners. Athlete village had poor entertainment, too loud music by the registration/pack collection corner (where people talk to get the bib), t-shirt corner not signed properly. Not enough of refreshments, nowhere to buy just a bottle of water.”

“Fun - The event was fun. I was discouraged at a point when I saw the 5k runners all looking wet and very tired, and thought I couldn't do it. Big thanks to two Kenyans and a lady I made friends with..they encouraged me, and told me I can do it, and I did. I loved the music and the mascots on the track, very relaxing. I also appreciated the encouragement from participants while we ran. The guys at the bag drop area were awesome. The Zumba before the race was fun..more of that please. Thanks!”

“Nice run specially the 10k during the evening time - Nice route, specially the 10km on the YAS circuit at night. Good marshals & volunteers, the only negative point is the shirt size, specially for the 10k that came later during the day nothing is available except in XL and 2XL, how hard is to order/give away only the correct sizes as already mentioned on our accounts on premier online. Event giveaways also poor, the SEHA stand stopped the giveaways as the 10k runners arrived (with lots of hats & bottles still available with the staff taking all).”

“Great well organised event. - This is one of the races that I really enjoy. It's well organised, it's got great entertainment with lots of signage, info and helpful smiling staff when you need it. The only down fall would be that the medal was disappointing for such a great well organised event. If you compare this event to let's say the RAK half marathon which I feel was on par in terms of organisation. The medal and race pack inclusions were unfortunately not. Please include a half marathon next year with a decent medal!”

“Great run, better info sharing needed - We came at 13:00 to be told 10k race is at 18:00 so we had to wait for additional 4 hours. We even received an email at 15:08 to rate our 10k run, which means it was not onky us who thought run was at 14:00. With all respect to this great run, but there is only one race that deserve to be called marathon, and it is 42195 m run ”

“A reasonable event on a hot Saturday afternoon - Hard work on such a warm evening. The km markers didn't seem correctly spaced out. I also felt sorry for the winners of the earlier races that had to wait hours for the awards ceremony for their event and also half of the 10k runners were still running whilst the awards were given out!”

“5k run at 4:30PM is too hot (36-38c) - Weather is too hot at afternoon run, not enough water station support. I did ask one of staff for water bottle just before the run but he refuse to give it and said after the run only. I near to collapse in the heat. I hope if next year, event happen in Feb then may consider to join it. If in march, it is no way.”

On PremierOnline start time was stated as 2pm, while the 10K race started only by 6pm. The description on PO should have been more clear. But nice to have the F1 race track as course. One the same note, it was a very hot race - maybe schedule it earlier/later next time. Overall, a lot of fun! ”

Although I ran the 10 km race (and by then the weather was considerably cooler), the 3 km and 5 km race timings were not great - too hot and too sunny. Overall, good event with great support and entertainment. Perhaps consider changing the name of the event to Zayed Run (or Race) rather than "Marathon" - which is misleading, as marathon denotes a distinct distance of 42.2 km. Also consider having different coloured ribbons for medals for different distances.”

“Great event - shame about timing - This really was a great event, well organised, with good entertainment, access and preparation. Only two comments for improvement: 1. Please make it explicitly clear when each race will start. As instructed we turned up at 14.30 to collect our entries, but the 10km race didn't get off until 18.05! Not good sitting in the sun that long, just waiting for 3 1/2 hours! 2nd ... no changing facilities so had to change in temporary toilets. Not ideal at all. Rest was great! ”

“Great venue, creepy medal and shirt - First, it was awesome to go out and run the YAS Marina Circuit. The track was awesome! Thanks to all the aid station volunteers as well. My only real complaints were being corralled 5 min to start and starting 2 min late as a result. The medal was lame and I respect the person on it, but I don't need his face on both sides. Also, the medal for the kids 1K, the 5K, and the 10K should be different. The shirt fits WAY too small and again, is just tacky. I'll run again, keep your medal and shirt! ”

“Fail - Start time originally said 1530, then changed to 1400. Showed up at 1330 and was told 10K didn't start until 1800. If you are the race coordinator and several confused people are milling about the start line 4 hours early, you are the common denominator. Communication fail. Nobody cares what time the face painting and tying of balloon animals kicks off. Nobody should have to do cyber forensics on a separate website or weed through their spam filter for an E-mail. That's why we come here. ”
