“CATEGORIZED BY AGE - This race must be categorized by age, instead of categories A , B, C, and D which are very subjective. It is possible to established and open elite category, and veterans categories. There were some cheaters who did not cross the complete course and the marshals do nothing.”

“A good obstacle course race! - Pro's A great setting for an obstacle race beneath the mountain range makes for a great backdrop. The organisation was good, getting timing chip and entry all smooth. Event ran on time which is a surprise for UAE! Good medal and food provided afterwards was useful, especially for those who had driven from Dubai! Cons There was some confusion over the lockers and didn't know where to put my stuff. It's a long way from Dubai! Some on course marshaling confusion but mostly fine! ”

“A great race Course marred by poor marshalling - Its a pity that many people resorted to cheating in this event by avoiding the obstacles and using shortcuts. What was even more disappointing was the inaction of the marshals to such cases as many of them ended in the top 15 rankings (for the 15K event). Barring this, the course was nice and tough which was a good challenge. ”

“A good challenge - I really enjoy running at the WAR, but I live in Dubai, it is far and expensive. Spending a night near the event is adding cost to it and driving there the same day does not put us in the best conditions for the efforts to provide. Other than that, it is a great event and experience.”

“Great race but needs some improvement - Great Fun! But have some comments.Would have preferred to see options for different weights for the sand bags and tyres. We are not all the same fitness level. Also was very dissapointd with ambulance response time.A girl fell and hurt her back and broke her finger and we waited more than 10 minutes for what we thought would be an ambulance. Turns out its just a regular car with a driver,who I assume will take her to the paramedics. This could have turned into a disaster if injuries were worse.”

“Really enjoyable event - I really enjoyed this event but the marshalling could be a bit better. The course was well laid out and great fun as well as challenging. It would be good to do some more prize categories for example to include an over 40's masters category for each distance. Us old people simply can't compete with strong fit guys in their 20's in this kind of event. Only other comment would be a better way to offer the event pictures, the process was very slow”

Medals disappointing (No distance on them/ribbon, ribbon just stapled together, lots of peoples' ribbon already came apart on site), Goodie Bad was very disappointing (Guess I jinxed it since the night prior I raved about getting another fun Goodie Bag since in the past we always got something fun e.g. backpack, hair curlers (still in the box but fun), jump rope, ...). “Excellent new 10k course - tough but brilliant! - I participated in the 10K elite. I thought the new course layout was excellent but tough. It was rewarding to see that the October's event feedback was recognized and implemented by the organisers. Good to see everyone participating in the obstacles. It was a tough course but excellent as it tested both strength and endurance.”

“Very good experience - For the obstacle in which we have to walk against the water current, I see it as unsafe, because there was no PPE used, water current was very strong and there was a risk that the participant could slip down and his head will hit the rockets causing sever injury if not a fatality”

“Great fun, well organised, tough course - Generally a very good event, and definitely the best of its kind. The order of people starting appeared wrong with a cut off for the final "for fun" 10km group only having an hour and a half to complete the course. The 5km groups should have gone last. The other areas for improvement would be more medics on the course and consistency of communication about the lockers being available or not.”

“Best race fun I've had here! - First of all - really enjoyed it! Even though I was "just" a 5C, had tons of fun. Only failed on 1 obstacle (monkey bars) thanks to a few leg ups! The negatives - photos as others have said. The staff were poor & couldn't find any of us. Not even on the newly added ones to FB - a little disappointing. Got in early for a locker but they do need more/bag drop off. Not all the goody bags had everything in (mine was missing the skipping rope unfortunately). Fab race - when's the next one?!”

“Great event - I participated in this event for the first time. As a couple of my friends got injured just before the event, I ended up being alone. There were no lockers available so I had nowhere to leave my stuff, including my car keys... This for me was the worst thing about this event. The only other thing I'd like to see is more photos of the event. I saw many official people taking photos, but did not see any photos online... Other than that, I loved the event, congratulations! “Fantastic experience - As a first timer, it took me quite a bit of effort to find the exact location and description to the event. The package offered by Hilton with a "special rate" was more expensive than booking through booking.com so didn't get that promotion. Location is fantastic and the race is too, I am coming back!”

“Fantastic course & challenge very POOR Marshalling - The course, organisation and the level of challenge was fantastic BUT what was shocking is the very very POOR marshalling with respect to stopping and disqualifying "Cheaters" who took shortcuts, did NOT go through obstacles ran past them and who ranked in the overall results. I will NOT participate again if this aspect of the organisation is not dealt with and resolved. It is only fair to mention that this is the first time I witness "cheating" in W.A.R. race events.”

“Ill come again - Super organized with everything, except collecting photos. That was just hilarious. Folders named by photographer, not by obstacles or anything else. Havent found one single picture of me. Many pictures were token from the back, so you couldnt not seen many faces either. Huge line of people searching for there pics. COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS was an Utter & Absolute Disaster. You lost business as many left and I personally had to wait in queue for 1 hour 40 minutes just to collect 3 pictures!!!”

“Great obstacles.. great energy. - PLease improve the photo taking and delivery. I had 2 photos. The person in front of me had 12. I was disappointed I could not take any pictures home. Also to wait in long and slow lines, scroll through ALL the pictures and then wait another while just to get them put on a usb was incredibly time consuming and inefficient. I didn't even have any pictures to select so it was doubly a waste of time for me. This especially stood out after the rest of the day had gone so well.”

“Fine - Course obstacles were the same as WAR10. Would have been nice to have something different. Competitors and Marshalls were all very supportive and made it fun! Nice having a buffet too! Unfortunately the lady in charge of the event was quite rude to a few people- she spoke quite condescendingly to some people as she thought they couldn't speak English...even though they were British!! I will definitely be following this issue up, as I do not like the way she spoke to myself and others around me.”

“Overall excellent - Hi. The event gets better and better. I would like to see the addition of a new obstacle for 2017. Something unique to the region. Scalable, challenging, designed and built. My only criticism would be the photo service. I think you need to be able to access the photos (for free) from a designated website, classified as per key obstacles (see SPARTAN UK). You had 600 attendees and 2 computers that were staffed by 2 useless staff members. Other than that, superb job. Well done. ”
