“Great even with some bugs - Most things were well organized I was surprised and disappointed by the 'speed' of the pod I was located in, it was faster than anticipated and actually caught two preceding groups before getting out of Sharjah City suburbs, so we must have been at least 5kph faster than intended The road captains were more interested in pushing on than keeping the pod together and so the pod was fragmenting before we reached the foot hills I also suspect I picked up a bug at one of the feed stations”

“Nice challenge to be done with friends - Very exciting challenge, well organized and secured during all the trip. A lot of cyclist in each group. Aid stations were really good with food and beverage. Road was secured and each round-about also. I regret the poor level of some cyclist group who did not allow any cyclist to join their group and wanted to stay only between them. My suggestion would be to create an event just these kind of "team". The rest of the challenge was perfect. The BBQ is a must. Strongly Recommanded with friends”

“Superb day out, fantastic organization and support - Organizers and support from police on both Sharjah and Fujairah sides were fantastic. Support station teams were enthusiastic and friendly and the patchy weather in the hills only made it more memorable. I would encourage anyone to train for and take part in this event. The closing ceremonies and meal were reflective of the positive atmosphere shown throughout the entire event.”

“Phenomenal and even better than last years! - The signage could be done with a bit of improvement even though it is hard to keep posting large arrows on random areas/poles for a stretch of 200kms. But overall, excellent as always and organisation was spot on. Police were brilliant and a very good atmosphere. Till next year! ”

“Comfortable, safe, super well organized! - Instead of everyone starting all together like most cycle races, The pod organizations were perfect! Also 2 support cars per pod was fab that I knew I could get in a car at any point. As a bonus, I could give my favorite chamois butter to the driver in case I needed it. The BBQ at the end was fabulous with plenty of food! The medal/award was fine, it wasn't anything special, but I loved the tube-wallet in the goody bag. Fab signage last 25k bc I was alone. I will Def DO IT AGAIN!!”

“Very well organised - Great concept but the roads though Fujairah were fraught / borderline dangerous when pods broke up into smaller groups of riders.”

“Tough event, great support - Although the event was a great challenge and extremely well supported there were a few niggles. 1. I was contacted 3 times about being a ride captain. 2.The goodies pack was mostly advertising vouchers or items I would not use (like I need another drink bottle) 3. The start was listed for 06:00 but the N pod (mine) didn’t get away until 06:54 - nearly an hour shuffling forward to the start line. 4. My drop bag was not left at the “N Pod” sign on the tennis court.”

“Great challenge, fun route, and excellent support - Great support throughout the event. Excellent feed stations. The only negative was the return bus trip as we had to wait for over one hour for our bikes to arrive after the buses reached back to Sharjah. It would have been better to send the trucks with bikes ahead of the return buses so that we could have all arrived at the same time.”

“A Yearly Bucket List Ride - The best marshalling and route signage to date, great support and the way you made it rain to cool us down was inspired, probably the best event in the UAE!”

“Decent event, good course but room for improvemet - The event was reasonable. Suggestions: - Pre event communicate hard to digest, emails were always huge and not succinct - Groups were not organised well, our group captain told us to slow down from 31kmh on the flat despite being in the F group as his clubmates couldnt keep up (perhaps separate groups for teams/clubs to deal with ability variance) - The road to Fuj after the hill was extremely dangerous with limited support. Where were the police?! - Too much crap in event bag, jersey is waste”

“Improving all the time - Another great ride.Started in a lower group this year (L) and when settled down rode at quoted speed which was great, but were caught by group M.All water stops great, Police in Sharjah great.Warnings about weather after Wadi Helo made sure we didnt hang around there tks. Signage great esp as last 10km on my own. On road support fantastic especially welcoming party at hotel. Travel back was as quoted 3to4 hrs.Only markdown was for briefing at start, we couldnt hear it back in L group and beyond.”

“Disorganised pod average speed - I ride 3-4 times a week and in fri group rides average 35-36kmh over 120km. I signed up for 31-32kmh(C) Rather than the advertised "warm up" riding through the lagoons we hit 37-38kmh straight from the off. This was led by the ride capt. By 1st water stop our average was 36.9kmh. I have ridden all the CtoC prior to the "pod" system and we rode a steady pace to the mountains, regrouped in Kalba and then hammered to the finish. Spoke to a friend who said last year was the same, so no excuse !! ”

“Simple changes would make it a great event - BBQ was terrible, food quality and beverages warm, absolute rip off. More road support after Fujairah needed, prior to this it was first class.”

“Great tough day - Police were awesome as was support and organisation. Only blip was bike collection. Unsure why trucks hadn't set of in advance of buses. Some people were angry and voiced opinions most were patient if frustrated. Thanks for wonderful day.”

“Great event tainted by appalling transfer service - Praises: support stations and course signage fantastic and much appreciated. BBQ food was great and overall enjoyable day on the bike. Rant: unfortunately left with sour taste in mouth due to the terrible organisation of the return transfer. Not sure why buses weren’t scheduled to leave until 5.30 (5.45 in the end). Took over 3 hours not due to traffic but because of poor navigation. Then had to wait 70 minutes for bike trucks that got lost. Left start at 10pm. Feel entitled to partial refund.”
