“Well organised and enjoyable - This was an excellent event - I loved the start and the performance and the hotel staff were extremely helpful. car parking was well organized as well. I think if the numbers increase then the event will suffer. Need to attract more support from bike shops and promotional stuff. My computer said 67km - so a little short. most athletes will have done the Spinneys 92km earlier in the year, I therefore think the distance was a little short to appeal to the senior cyclists well done”

“Very poor arrangement for support cars. - I had a flat tyre twice and hence ran out of my spares. Despite having a new tube I couldn't use since I used the co2 bombs for the 2 flats I had in a distance of 500 mtrs. The single support car that came after 20 mins didn't have a pump to inflate the tyres. They were not even equipped to load my bicycle in their car since they didn't have space. I had to carry my bike back 8 kms till I found my most trusted Revolution Cycles support truck. Very well advertised but they missed out on basics”

“Very, very good - Marshal and police support was almost faultless. Rolling start worked v. well. Initially worried about riding the RAK roads, I felt way safer than riding the 92. Someone had a brainwave about offering breakfast afterwards. I'll be back for this one.”

“Great event - Really enjoyed this event on some great roads and what was a fast course! The local police did a great job of keeping the roads free of traffic and this was really appreciated - it meant you could focus on enjoying the ride. The entry fee was higher than other events, but it included a contribution to the Red Crescent. Good opportunity/excuse to spend the weekend in RAK. I'm sure even more local sponsors will get on board when they realise these events are a good boost to the local economy.”

“RAKBANK ride put RAK on the map! - A professionally organised event. Entrance to the event was well signposted and easy access to parking. Shame that hire bikes were not advertised as I know someone who would have participated having known this. The course was well signposted and lots of marshals and police. The brunch and ceremony topped off the end to an amazing event. It raised the profile of the event and cycling in RAK so much so that I have spoken to the Sheikh about improving and developing cycling facilities in RAK. ”

“Well organised with a great breakfast to follow. - We only got notification of the special room rates at the Rixos a week before the event. I had already booked inferior accommodation at a similar price elsewhere, so it was too late for me to change. Suggest posting accommodation deals at the time of announcing the event.”

“Best organised ride in the UAE - Overall this was an incredibly well organised event, great atmosphere. Possible recommendation of offering different event distances to attract a wider audience? 35km, 70km and 100km? The only slight improvements would be earlier communication on hotel accommodation deal and on the race pack delivery. Both were communicated/delivered very close to the event, My only hope is that when this is bigger next year (I'm sure it will be) that it manages to retain the same standard. ”

“Very well Organized and amazign route - Although it was very very windy and felt very tough at some turns. But the route was great, the scenery was amazing. It was very well organized. The police escort closed the roads behind so it was very safe and we could enjoy every moment of it wihtout the need to keep worying about cars and traffic. The breakfast was very good.
