Can't help but feel it was ruined this year though by being draft legal - half a dozen working hard on the bike course with everyone else being dragged along. As a newbie I had no idea how to prepare, what to bring, where to turn up - the pre- race pack was detailed and very helpful. My only suggested comments, 1) With two minutes to race briefing, I was running around trying to find someone handing out race belts. As a newbie, I had no idea where to find the support teams to get my hands on one 2) Just a few more way-finding signs wouldn't have gone amiss on bike/run sections”

“Would have made Roy proud. - The max. capacity has been reached. The swim start was chaotic, given the very high number of athletes in each wave, and limited space. We were swimming on top of previous waves, as there were two laps for most. Would suggest a longer course, instead of two loops, to eliminate the traffic jams! The rest of the organization was excellent. Good marshaling, lots of smiles and good vibes. Would have made Roy very proud. Thanks, guys.”

“Great event as always and superbly organised - Summary says it all, one of the best events in Dubai, great location, organisation and, of course, in memory of a good buddy. Only suggestion is with so many taking part in Tris these days, a swim leg that is becoming utterly chaotic,and after about 10 kicks in my ribs or face from breast strokers today on a tight course, is that, among the many rules and regulations in the sport, its time to disallow that stroke! In my view there's simply no place - or room - for it in any Triathlon.”
