The new transitions entry/exit make much more sense now, but lacking a bit of signage, especially the dismount line for the bike. “Great morning out with a few minor suggestions - This was a well organized and fun event. A couple of minor points - the location of the bike photos was not the best as most people are braking coming into the transition area. There were lots of other photographers on the course but no photos. Signage on the course was minimal - lots of people were asking the marshals which way to go - and there was no warning coming up to the dismount line . and it was not obvious being around a slight bend. ”

Two points that could be improved: 1) long wait (6.10-7.00am) for race briefing and start is hard when it is less than 12 degrees and you're not wearing a wetsuit. 2) cars on road during bike ride created some scary situations.....”

“Great event - Fun event, great breakfast setting afterward. Only thing lacking was the bike and run course. The bike course was bland and the run course involved running through sand throughout. Would've been nice if the bike course was more scenic and the run course was on pavement.”

“Most enjoyable event - A really well organised even in a lovely setting. The marshals and organisers on the site were very helpful. I will certainly be back for another one, and the breakfast and prize giving worked really well. Cant really think of any ways to improve it, except maybe a little more information in the race pack about where to leave pre/post race kit - as a first timer for this event I hadn't realised it could be left in the transition area.”

“Great event, every year better - Eventhough breakfast was great this year, I think it should not be mandatory. Maybe the price will change and it would be more affordable. I repeated this year but that was a bit shocking. The organisation was excellent.The packs attached to bikes was great, fast. The water stations are very helpful also. I loved the arrival, when they cheer for you loud in the beautiful finish line moment. Maybe, for some peopke there was confusion when running? They were running on the road. ”

“A great Event, my favorite local triathlon ever - I gave everything 100% apart from the event photo service as i found it a bit expensive to get a photo for 10$. So three photo would cost over 100 AED. Not expecting this to be free of course but if there is a "All your event photos" discount type of thing, would make it a bit more feasible at least for me. Apart from that all is great as always. ”

I think the atmosphere is competitive but fun and the changes that were made to transition entry/exit as well as straightening the finish line all helped to improve the course. As others have mentioned, the joint breakfast and prize giving was another improvement and helps to make it as much of a social event as an athletic one. I look forward to January's event!”

I think it was nice for the prize winners to have a larger audience than last time. The route was more logical without any dangerous crossing overs. All in all, a great event. “Is it really necessary to start so EARLY? - I liked the full organization, but i found it unnecessary to start so early as the weather now is not so hot anymore. Having to change and prepare the bike and tools using my phone torch, and start swimming when it is almost dark wasn't pleasant at all. For the rest, all was very fine, thanks to all organizers and volunteers for the beautiful event.”

“Very well organised and executed, recommended - I was initially not keen on the compulsory breakfast, but it worked very well. I always try to stay for the presentations, but so often most people have left, so breakfast got people to stop and support the prize giving. I also appreciate that the hotel want some compensation for giving up their facilities, so everyone got a result. I liked the longer, single loop bike course last season, rather than the circuits, but otherwise the course is great. thanks as always to the volunteer army.”

“A very nicely organised event - My FIRST TRI - really not qualified to judge this. Didn't find difficulty in getting through, esp transition area was smooth. Enjoyed it every bit - course, friendly & effective marshaling (bike segment U-turn), fellow athletes (who were ready to provide a tip or 2 and answer my queries - man at 230 who briefed his best laid plan for transition), breakfast.... You hv no control over the chill waters, don't you!! Hooked & will do it again. Timing of Race 3 close to marathons is a worry though!”
