“Awesome event - This event is well run and organised in a very slick manner. There is a great family atmosphere with lots of events catering for all levels of athleitc ability and prowess. Spot prizes are there for those who don't win the top 3 placings. This is great as it motivates the core number of athletes to want to come again as they may just win another spot prize. The award prizes are amazing and also relevant to the age groups they are given too. ie Juniors get Wild Wadi passes while adults get restaurant vouchers. Timing is efficient and never any problems. Results are out before I even make it home. They are so well run. Great Job by the Ignite Team!!!”

“Event was good, but got poor marshalls. - I ended up taking 5k run route instead of 2k because the marshall left his post with the flag. Also, I wish you give medals for finishers, because most of your participants will be finishers than placers.”

“Great event - Would like break down of time on swim and run. A few more marshalls on run rather than just at both ends, but OK. Sand run is excellent and fun.”

“Better Pre-race info - More pre-race info would have been good. Course details in e-mail etc. On pick up of chip etc also more info of where to go, where the start was etc. My daughter took part in the junior u12 race. The swim element was not very well thought out. As there was a curent they were being swept off course, along with the turn around bouy. Many did not actually go around the bouy and others ended up swimming more than the 200 metres. Advice for the next time would be to swim up one side of the orange channel bouys and back down the other side, then they have a guide both ways and everyone knows where to swim. ”

“Sun, Sand and Serious Sports - A great way to start the day, with a swim in the crystal clear sea and a run along the beach - all in the shadow of the beautiful Burj Al Arab. The event was well organised, and Ignite have managed to get some top notch sponsors on board to keep us coming back for more. Lots of spot prizes for the young ones, and some serious jam packed prize bags for the winners in all the categories. Now if only I was fit enough to one one of those prizes...”

“Very poor marshalling - I had arguments with a guy Roy( dont know how to spell his name tho)...im in a sprint category and got out from the water almost last..during the run leg, I cant find the banner for the turn around for 2km, its not me who only complains about this...i run straight and found the 1st banner of which an ignite lady with short hair was in front of it..I clearly asked her if its the sprint turn around and she said "No, just carry on..continue that way".. pointing the direction of burj al arab..i continued running until i had reached the last banner ..cant even see a water station on that area! the guy on the last banner, asked me what category am i, and i answered "sprint"..he only said ök go go turn around now".. the guys behind me where asking where is the 2km mark because we couldnt find it...nonetheless, we have no choice but to continue running back to the starting line. i complained to Rory why there was no banner for 2km turn around because i had run like the open category as it was very far already... below a conversation between me and rory: Me: why there was no turn around mark for 2km ?I had run like 4km already? Rory: I was there standing but you didnt turn on my area. Me: I wasnt able to see you so I continued running Rory: its your mistake that you DIDNT listened to the race briefing. briefing says you have to turn around on me.. ME: (furious with his remarks) Excuse me?race briefing CLEARLY says you will be standing on the turn around WITH A BANNER but we couldnt see the banner! Rory: I moved already beacause the race was already finished! ME: i got more furious..this time I yelled at him.. HOw can you say the race is finished or over when we are still running???????? for Rory: we paid for this event and its not free! your only job is to stand there and let all the players passed..you dont just decide on your own that the race is over!!!!you are a useless marshall!!! for the guy in SUP...respect to you for keeping us company til we had reached the shoreline,,..we need marshalls like you not like the useless rory.”
