“Great event if you want to get some hills - Great race. I am not sure about the initial route as it was changed due to the heavy rains a couple of days before. Organizers did everything great and smooth despite all the last minute changes. Beautiful scenery, definitely recommend! ”

“An Enjoyable half marathon course - A great course and good pre race communication. The only drawback is reaching the venue cause of road closures and fog which delayed my arrival. I must appreciate the organisers for getting back to me for post race queries on their chip timing service. ”

“Thoroughly enjoyed myself! - The only disappointing thing was the breakfast afterwards. It was pretty terrible, but because I heard there was breakfast I didn't book it with my room at the hotel. In the future would be good to know that it is just a cold breakfast with pastries. Then would know to book a proper breakfast”

“Enjoyable but tough first time event - Well done to the organisers for a great first time event. There were a few teething problems, largely caused by unexpected rain the night before, but they did a good job to alter the course to not be affected by rain. Marshals got things a bit wrong for some runners but thankfully I was not affected by that. Very tough run but thoroughly enjoyed it - looking forward to doing it again to see if I can better my time!”

“Nice to finally have a race in Hatta! - Nice and scenic course, however with so many twists and turns (even more due to last minute route changes due to weather) it was difficult to keep track on runners and give them correct directions. I would still prefer route option 1 over generator hill, it is not more severe than having to climb the Hatta dam a few times. Logistically it would also be much easier with an out/in route. Hope race is moved to route option 1 next year..will for sure be back then!”

“Change of scenery, challenging but great course - Great venue and course, and a change of scenery from flat Dubai. The course has a couple of very challenging steep uphills and downhills that really test your legs. Very well organized and very well supported by police and the local municipality. Loved the morning and was well worth the drive in fog from Dubai. Highly recommended.”

“Great 1st time Event in Hatta! - Considering the last minute changes due to the rains, everything was well organized The parking was super easy and close to start so easy to leave things in the car. Bathrooms were clean and literally just meters away from the start/finish, nice they had showers there also. Breakfast would have been better as a take-what-you-want as I saw a lot of wasted food, seems most just ate the 'healthy' boiled egg and banana and the rest went to garbage. Friendly atmosphere with tough 2 climbs!!”

“Friendly - all the way - Great route, which would have been even better, if we had access to the Wadi. Bit of a mix up, due to urgent changes to route. However, if people just listen and observe, problems would not have occurred. We all saw the 14km marker on the way to the first dam. That should have told you to come back on that track, after the second dam. Even with the mix-up, it was enjoyable. Maybe an earlier start? Got hot towards the end.”

“Great Idea - Great course, very different from other races. Well organized despite the last minute changes forced by the rain. Bit of a hiccup with marshaling the lead runners because of the changes but was agreeably sorted. Good location and facilities at the start. Very enjoyable tough run. Going to feel the legs tomorrow!”

“A fantastic run in a superb mountain environment - Overall excellent event, only improvement area would be a decent breakfast - we need scrambled eggs, toast, fruits etc. next time please - also proper coffee ! Well done to all will definitely be back.”

The course was excellent and the organisers coped pretty well with last minute changes caused by the storms/flooding. Really pleased that their were different distances so that children could also take part. The medal could have been better and the T-shirts ran out, but otherwise an impressive achievement considering it was the first event for Hatta. :)”
