“It was an adventerous and challenging event. - Race confirmation email was not sent the previous day and we have no idea whether race is going to happen/ cancelled. Considering the sandstorm weather, masks and goggles can be given to the participants. Instead of water cups , small water cans can be supplied at water stations. It was an adventerous and challenging event.”

“Safety Information Sharing - Safety information and do and don't should be shared, much before through email and phone call, if bad weather is predicted for the race day. Every thing else was really well organised. ”

“Great experience - It was really a challenging race because of the weather, however we really had fun. Looking forward to join again on the next event.”

“Average - Plenty of water stations good no bin to dispose cups announcements at start were dreadful, announcer stood 50m away and spoke into wind could not hear. told to line up with faster runners at the front no way of telling who they were . could do with KM markers so you know distances. There was no defined finish line just a banner on a fence. did not see finish timing line. Tuesday and still no results. 3k runners got 10k medals!”

“Should have cancelled this race and refunded fee - I decided not to participate because of the very bad weather / sandstorm. The weather forecast had clearly shown that things were going to be awful that day. The event organizers should have cancelled this race, and arranged for a refund, or credit that could be applied for another race. ”

“Weather to remember! - Mother Nature was very unkind to us in this last race, high winds and sandstorm lashing us, visibility zero almost. Still, a good turn out considering the weather. The volunteers and organizers deserve respect for persevering with the event. I would suggest that in future events with similar weather forecast, announcements are broadcast as the run will go ahead or not, I'm sure I wasn't the only one checking the websites wondering whether to come or not on the day.”

“Not so good - Photos and results not available after 3 days of race. It is not acceptable!”

“Poor Organisation. No control - Ecen despite the weather I am afraid the whole set Up was very weak. PA and set up at the start was a mess, no marshals or first aid out on the route and finish was terrible - just a few people next to a table and a water fountain resting on a table to help yourself! Medal was awful - very cheap plastic sticker on tacky medal. Really very amateur. ”

“Awesome, loved the challenge, well done guys - Thanks Dean and the gang for going ahead with the event in the extreme weather. Only slight grumbles were the loud speaker near the start and the delay in posting the results. Other than that it was an awesome event with a great feeling of camaraderie. Obviously the weather caused some issues with the water and signage but good job to all concerned.”

“Amazing Challenge. - A BIG THANK YOU to all the event organisers and the volunteers. This was by far the best race ever, really enjoyed it. So glad that it was not postponed as it was such a great challenge and not just a normal run. Please arrange the same again for future races ha ha. ”

“Dissapointment - It was my first time and i am surely not going for Dessert Run events again. Due to the weather conditions event could have been postpone to next weekend. No giveaways, no fruits even at the finish line. Poorly organized. Will not be recommending any one i know to participate”

“Great event - Conditions were horrendous, but happy it went ahead. Gives you a great sense of achievement to be able to run through a sand storm! Shame though that it is now 24 hours since the event and there are no results up yet.”

“Hard work in the sandstorm! - Glad I did it (and glad it wasn't cancelled), but probably the worst weather I've ever raced in (far worse than any winter cross country run in the UK). Hoping for better weather for the next run!”

“A race to remember with the sand! - Big well done to the organisers for going ahead and all the support guys for their work. I only did the 3k due to injury but thoroughly enjoyed the tough conditions. Went the wrong side of the cabin at the end so didn't get correct placement (and wrongly got a 10k medal) but can't complain as the signs understandably had blown over! Agree the music speaker was a pain but overall was a fantastic run and glad I made the effort! Thanks DDR - it lived up to its name. ”

“The Sandstorm made it an endurance event... - Well done for still running the event. The hill at 1.5K and 6K certainly sorted the runners out with sand and wind straight on. Only rant... as always the organisation is a bit haphazard, questionable results timing - and we have to wait for Facebook (which I don't use). I know its been said before but why not go back to Premier Timing? DDRR answer most likely to keep the cost of the event as low as possible - which is appreciated. Will I be there for the next one? Yep, already signed up.”

“Good run and flat run - Generally good. Sandstorm made it a nice challenge!! If good weather, the flat road makes it a good course to try to beat any PBs. ”

“Should have been cancelled! - The weather was harsh and the event organisers should have postponed the event. Many people where asking if the event was cancelled on your Facebook account but no one replied, in these circumstances better communication was needed.”

“Great event - The music speaker was right next to the start line that we couldnt hear the final instructions and start countdown. better organization of race finish line as it wasn't clear where it is. With the horrible sandstorm started dubai im dubai, It would have been great if thr race organizers could have sent an email today before the race confirming the race will be held or not.”

“Poor communication with those in charge!! - I have participated in 3K run, and i finished 3rd place, the 4th place finished after me maybe in 2 or 4 min. I checked in paper at that time and my number was in 3rd place .. At the ceremony they gave the 4th place my trophie "3rd" !! I told that im the 3rd place! The manager or who is in charge with bad attitude told me that i was wronge! And he dont have time to chack the papers with the real numbers!! And the paper was infront of him!! It was not good! Actually very baaaad! ”

“Should have been cancelled due to the sandstorm - I feel the event should have been cancelled due to the sandstorm. Being my 1st ever event i did not have glasses or mask (nor did many other contestants and i saw many people drop out due to the near impossible conditions.) ”

“Great run but the sandstorm made it harsh - Next time it would be a good idea to give water bottles rather than cups as it was too sandy ”
