“Course was 1km short, expensive race, no giveaways - Great course, but really disappointed it was 1km short, I would have got a PB. I understand that the Police changed this last minute, but a Marshall should have picked this up. Also, for the price paid I would have expected better giveaways and prizes. All we got was a T-Shirt and a medal. We were promised gels at the 10k mark - didn't get any. We were also promised fruit at the finish - didn't get any. There wasn't even any sports drinks available at the finish!”

“Thanks for the race - Race organisers, volunteers and police did a great job looking after us, but where was the water at end of 10 km race, and the oranges never appeared. The 21.5 km runners really needed more support. For the price, it just wasn't value for money by comparison to other UAE races. The Al Ain Rugby club needs to do better considering it's a community organization.”

“Fantastic for an inaugural race! - It was fairly well organized. A bit of confusion at the start on what the course is like but marshals and route signage throughout the course were very clear! Requires music at least at the start and finish of the course to get the crowd pumped up! A definite positive is that it was held in Al Ain and well done for an inaugural race! ”

“The route changed - The route changed while we were running it however no one bothered to tell us what was happening. we lost 3km half way round which was of no fault of the organisers however they could have told us they were adding the last 3km on at the end. Even if the race had gone to plan, the route was quite boring - one road out, one road back.”

“For a first time..great event - Finally a run in Al Ain. Great spirit .. awesome runners. All made it to the finish line in spite of their aches and injuries. I salute them. Organization was great especially the collection of the race pack before the run. The race also started well. The marshals along the route were very supportive. I noticed that the km signage was wrong. Which can be confusing and frustrating. But the killer was the last loop. At the end of the run you see the cones near the rugby club and then you were told that you still had 3 KMs to run. And then you finally go into the field only to find out that you have to run around it. That is quite frustrating. There should have been a route sketch before the race or at least an explanation so that the racers can mentally prepare themselves. No promised drinks and fruits at the end of the race. In fact pretty dull. The breakfast should have been complimentary or at least more suitably priced. Awesome that the results were available on the same day. Still waiting for the pictures if there are any. Still for a first time great event.”

“Excellent new 10km event - Clearly there are gripes about the half marathon (due to external factors), but I thought the 10km race was spot on. Flat course, accurately marked, beautiful running conditions...I smashed my PB. Lack of water for the first finishers was annoying, but the organisers responded. Next year perhaps have prizes for age group categories. Results service was a little slow, but perhaps that will be slicker next time. I definitely hope to be back in Al Ain for the next running of this event.”

“Could see that it is a first time event. - There were no give aways for participants, as in other races, the T shirt quality was very bad and awfully big even size S. No free food for runners. And the km marks wrong. Not impressed at all about race, lots to improve.”

“No digital time display? no water at finish - Pack consisted of just a tee shirt. There was no water when I finished. Poor prizes for winners, No oranges or refreshments as promised??!!! T I really came away annoyed. Overpriced”

“Flat great weather why not! - For the first year it was surprisingly well organized. I did the 10k and would do half next year. There was a course mix up for the 1/2 runners but I am sure next year no worry. End of the race was not ideal. Running that last stretch on turf why? The last part if you want onto the rugby field yes but not 1k. It killed tired legs and took my personal best. Goodie back lacked or maybe as late entrant I got nothing but the shirt, which is great BTW! I will do it next year. See you there.”

“First attempt... - Thank you for putting the effort to organize this race ! Nice race, flat, straight, ideal for personnal best, with room enough to set your own pace as from the start. Here are a few suggestions for next year : - Put signs on the roads to help people coming from other cites to locate the event - Make sure the kilometer marks match the race (!!!) - Have a clock on the arrival line - Have a post-race quality free breakfast, however light it is - Have a PA on arrival to encourage runners and put some ambiance - Wait for the race to finish to give away the prices - Make sure the marshalls know how many kilometers are left to run from their present position Will probably come back next year ! ”
