Drove from Dubai. get race pack on day (internal issues?), bit hectic, I arrived at Water park around 5.30 am took nearly 40 mins to get in car park then had to get race pack and to start line... not the best 21km race prep. It put my anxiety into overdrive...thinking I may miss start of race. luckily, I had someone with me who could just grab my stuff. race great- pre-race not so good.”

The route was well signed and marshalled/ traffic controlled. The only negative comment were the LACK of water stations. There probably could have been twice as many water stations. THis was my first experience with the Premier Online events in the Middle East. I was quite pleased with my experience and will definitely partake in more Premier Online events. Good job!”

“Great fast 21.1K - ONE Thing: Why do you switch off the music so early?? It is UNFAIR to those who run longer & struggle to finish the last meters. Overall a great HM! Enough parking, volunteers directed traffic well (fast). Course is flat & good for new PBs. Course has only occasional spectators & mostly the volunteers are cheering you on. Parts of the run are very quiet during the peaceful morning and you can only hear the occasional bird tweeting. Great to have access to Yas Waterworld after the race. ”

“Another great year. - As someone, if not many others, may have mentioned- you can only do so much to control the "parking behavior" of others. After about 25 minutes of patiently sitting, with an increasing number of "more stressed" persons jumping the queue, I realized there was alternative parking across the street from the main entrance. Parked and still had 20minutes to walk to the start. The bottleneck is due to to the fact there is just the one entrance. Would it be possible to use the service entrance as well?”

“Enjoyed it - Had a great morning. Loved the course. Marshall"s were encouraging. I personally didn't have a problem parking as I made sure I was organized and arrived in plenty of time. Facilities amazing. Don't understand the complaints about long queues for the toilets. Why didn't they just use the ones inside Yas Waterworld? there were loads of them! Think it was a case of blind leading the blind! Have to agree the photos were not good at all and the website always has problems every single time. ”

“Mainly fast and furious..some hills..gone in 60s! - Diverting route up and in and into the lobby of Yas Viceroy was "unusual" and some sections were quite lonely at front of field where no runner in sight and no quite clear where course would go next...but honestly a lovely day and brilliant organisation....I would just suggest some small simplifications of the route...it has the chance to be world class speed wise as much of the course is super quick. “A fun event, great value - The saucony t-shirt, substantial breakfast and entry to the waterpark make this race excellent value. The course is nice with a couple of inclines, aid stations were well placed and the marshalls were very encouraging. Only two small niggles - the start was kind of chaotic and there weren't enough toilets outside - the queues inside were really long, would have been helpful to have more portaloos. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Overall a great race and I'll be back again next year :-)”

Really enjoyed it. - The only thing I would suggest is that at the water stations only very smaller bottles / the small plastic water containers to be given out only, not the normal bigger bottles, as very tricky to carry and run. Also could the people helping at these stations pre-open the bottles, as really difficult to open them as you are running / or tear the foil back on the small water containers. I found it impossible to open these whilst running. ”

“Great event - My only real critique is it looked like the finish line area was being torn down well prior to the final finishers crossing the line. If the event is scheduled for a 3-hr block (or whatever it was), then the finish line should remain intact for all of the finishers that meet that goal. It would be disheartening for a finisher to come around the corner only to see things being taken down. I think the organizers owe every finisher better than that. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise, great event.”

“A well organized event!Good terrain for a beginner - Doing a 21K after a long break, So saying the course was an easy one, is definitely saying a lot. Even the hills werent too hilly. Lovely sights,cheerers,volunteers, though would've liked to see more cheerers between 15K and 19K, as that stretch got very lonely. loved the small 3k overlap between thetwo races, was like a breath of fresh air to see so many people suddenly (as i'm usually always at the back). waterstations well organized. loo only at 10K, one more a lil earlier would've been good.”

“Excellent Track! - Overall it was a great race. The support stations were good, but I wish there was Gatorade or some kind of sports drink at more of the stations for those of us who don't use Gu. I also wished there was a water station close to the end of the big bridge we ran over! Other then that, it was great! I wasn't planning on spending the day in the water park so I didn't bring the wrist band for entry. But that meant I couldn't go in to have breakfast despite having clearly run the race.”

Value for money...absolutely...entry to yas waterworld, done with the top 10 rides by 11 am before the crowds came in...so thats premium access and no queing.T-shirt didnt get my blue, had to do with grey. “Sincerely I expected more and better. - Everything was fine, or almost, but some details. My first point is that the registration fee seems to me a little expensive and that could be the reaason why my expectations weere so high. I consider that, for example, route signaling was a little poor, specially at the poinsts where tracks for both distances were separated but marshall´s performance was incredible during the whole race. The problem you had with t-shirt´s sizes is also non acceptable. You must request all this items with time i”

“Very good event, extremelly well organised - The event was very well organized and the location is outstanding for a race. The start-up process was very smooth and dealt with easily. Marshaling was outstanding and the quantity of people supporting was very good Improvements probably only in terms of parking, however the issues experienced (people overlapping and making a relatively simple process long and frustrating) are of a local nature so difficult to clear. All in all, a great event and one I will definitively consider repeating.”

“Poor parking arrangements - Parking was a nightmare. Spent 25 minutes sitting in traffic with countless other drivers cutting in. No marshals around to prevent this. When I finally arrived at the entrance to the car park at 6:00, the marshalls closed it and I had to park on the road some distance away. Par for the course here sadly though. I thought the distance was also slightly long - 21.4km? Walkers should also know to move to the side. Breakfast was good.”

But on Friday, before the race start, they we're delivering some M and L T-shirts, and some changes were done.. I have an useless T-shirt that could had been a nice memento.”

Just a few points for constructive criticism : where the 10k and 21k split on the course, a visible sign would be useful, the end of the course near the finish needs to be more clearly marked with some marshals, earlier finishers need to be kept off the track here too. “Great race. Will be back next year - An excellent event all round. A few negatives: The disorganization surrounding the race pack collections for Dubai residents or lack there of was not good. Having to sort this out on the morning was a bit of a pain and not ideal considering the early start. “ Injury Recovery & how meaningful this 10k were - Last year I've participated in the Abu Dhabi Striders Half Marathon as a part of my workout plan for the marathon in Jan , and it was fabulous. In January this year, after the Dubai Marathon, I was diagnosed with a hip stress fracture (2nd in 3 years time) and I had to completely stop for 8 months any physical activity. I've decided in Sep, with my physio team the best race to get back would be the Abu Dhabi Striders cause it's inspiring, and I was right, I have a new PB for the 10k. Congrats!”

“Brilliant volunteers & Sponsors - I cannot thank the volunteers, organisers and sponsors enough for a great event. As one of the slow 10k runners (age combined with insufficient pre-event training) I agree with the comments made by one or two of the much more important 21k runners, in that the two courses/finishes could have been split. Also, having to stop runners to allow traffic through was a first for me, but disruption seemed to be kept to a minimum. Thanks again.”

Nice course, fast and exploring different areas, parks, etc. Good to have mass/preferred start. Water stations OK, missed the gatorade, etc. Thanks for the volunteers, they were jumping and cheering, and it really helps. Didn't like finishing the half along with the 10K slower runners as it made it difficult to progress. Tshirt wasn't the size I ordered.”

“Great event and course.....one small suggestion. - This was an excellent event and the course was fantastic. One small suggestion would have been the car parking, it was a little crazy getting in this morning, we waited in a cue to get into the carpark for 30 minutes - either warn people of this pre race or have different parking options. One the whole though a great event and it was great to be able to head into the waterpark afterwards. Well done to the organisers and the wonderful volunteers!”

“Superb, thanks - I love this race - organisation is excellent, thanks to Steve and the team for their tireless efforts. One small concern/suggestion - could the 10k runners be cordoned off from the Half Marathoners at the end? I collided with a 10k runner which wasn't ideal for either of us. A row of cones/marshal or better still a rope would do the trick. Overall, though, it's excellent. See you next year. ”

“It was an amazing race event - As other countries are already implementing some creativity on race medals, maybe it is high time to check if we can put on some unique designs (ie. Bottle Opener, etc.) on race medals to be more useful. A survey might help to add more thoughts on this. Nevertheless, as always it is an amazing event. Thank you very much.”
