“Nicely organised. - Nicely organized. Swim course needs to be measured more accurately. bike was declared as shorter than 40km. Timing mats need to be there in between the start and finish areas for run and bike. There were people who did not finish the course but got a finish time (showing a much faster pace) in the results.”

As an average swimmer I also agree that the fist 500 meters was very physical. Would like to see future events with sprint and Olympic with separate starts . “A great event - The best Value in Dubai - I love the events and think the course is excellent. Well supported and easy to get to. My one issue was that the swim was too congested and funnelling that many on the sprint/Olympic was chaos. The bike and run were good. Loved it and will do the full set this year. Unlike other events you have priced this well and i will keep coming back”

“Great location and a great race - I was visiting from overseas and made a relatively late entry. I found the organisers very helpful. I found the swim start too crowded given the course. All the other races l have is having the Sprint start after the Olympic.there were a lot of uncomfortable swimmers out there. Only other comment for improvement would be to have some signs on run course where the cycle track/run track diverge on the far side of lagoon. Ovwrall a great event. Will do again if passing through Dubai ”

“Swim organisation - I've already seen it written, but setting the olympic and sprint men off at the same time was dangerous. There were 259 finishers in these categories, all starting in an area no bigger than a regular pool. Either stagger the starts better or perhaps have a second course setting off in the other direction. Also the first water station on the run seems to have moved further along the course from the start. It was better placed in previous years. ”

“Great event but the swim needs looked at! - Hey guys, great organisation, great new timing chips and website. The only complaint I have is the swim. Setting the Olympic and Sprint men off at the same time in such small area and course was very challenging. Consider setting the Sprint men off 5 mins back if worries about time. The washing machine effect was defo in motion.!!!!!”

“Great event. Irresponsible start. - Lovely course - really impressed - and a great feel to the event. Generally very well organised. However, the men’s start was handled irresponsibly. No way Olympic and Sprint men should have started together. Far too many to start in one wave on that course. Very unpleasant and nearly getting dangerous. A couple of guys looking pretty panicked in the heaving mass of bodies. Appreciate the desire to maximise participation and keep to a timetable but need to be sensible about these things.”

The turn buoys were drifting again causing a melee between them and the buoy line. The position of the first aid station was too far from transition / Olympic second lap start.
