“Route signage - The route signage was not clear enough for runners. Due to this reason my friend lost best potions and he was running extra 8km during the course.”

“Great event, small improvements needed - Overall an enjoyable event. Steep incline route between km 11 and 13 was a challenge. Route is ok for Solo35, but 2 times same loop for Solo70, not my desire. Signage could be better during the early morning section in the dark. Medal is a bit boring. Overall a great event though. ”

“Not great as a solo event - I was pretty disappointed with the amount of road running we did. I should have worn my normal trainers, not my trail shoes. No single tracks at all, just tarmac and gravel roads. Also, signage in the dark was very bad. signs were placed after a split in the road and with headlights we could not see the boards, no reflective tape was used.”

“Potential unrealised - Organisation was poor. We ended up doing 1.3km more due to poor route signage and marshalling. I finished in front of someone and now on the results I'm behind them. The race has potential to be great if organised better. ”

“Disappointed to run almost a marathon - Poor signage, poor marshalling, no food, messed up results. Post run support and food was nice.”

“A great event - that can be improved further still - We ran the 70km team relay and I thought that it was a great event. Signage on certain legs (as previously mentioned) could have been far better - or even having the marshalls at the check point explaining any unclear junctions before commencing the legs would have been helpful. Some further info in the pack regarding elevation profile of each leg would have helped our team plan better in advance, but overall I thought it was a great event. More trails, less roads would be good. Will be back”

“Challenging Route, Poorly Organised - Challenging and interesting route, however poorly sign posted and only some marshals were knowledgeable of the route. Often found drivers of 4x4s unaccommodating to runners, driving too close and pressuring runners and leaving very little clearance space on narrow trails. Drivers drove too fast on loose surfaces, 15km speed limit should be reduced to 10km when within 100m of runners.”

“Good course, poor signage! - Overall it was a good race. The trail is exciting and very challenging. A few things could have been done better. (1) Please have clear signage. Early on the race many of us got lost due to poor signage. The directional arrow between Checkpoint 2 and 3 is very confusing. (2) Aid stations need food. (3) On the 70km solo, I think the 12 hour cut off time is not sufficient. (4) We signed up for a trail race but there seems to be too much of paved road in the course.”

“Terrible organisation, nothing like the original - Poor organization before and during the event. No instructions provided in the race pack and nothing was emailed before the race. Runners got lost due to poor signage, and the check-points volunteers (if you could find one) did not know the rules or the route. Nothing like the original Wadi Bih race in Oman. I would not recommend this event to anyone.”

“LESS ROAD!! - The event is really good but it should be less paved road. Flat is boring and painful.”

“Ok race that could be improved. - Need better course marking for the night start (reflective signs), aid stations need food, would like less paved road for the course. ”

“Great race, terrible signage! - This race was so close to being brilliant but it was really let down by the near complete lack of signage. We took two fairly big wrong turns and ended up running about an extra kilometre, which not only adds time and tires you out but also let’s other people catch you up and affects the actual results. The course was great and the organisation of everything was brilliant, it just needs much clearer signs for next year! ”

“No directional signs /confusing - Very bad signage as there were no reflective tapes to indicate direction, this is why all three distances racers got lost and did lots of extra milage , i was one of the top 4 on the 70 distance who got DNF bcz i missed check point , all 4 of us got DNF bcz of same reason due to poor or no direction. And thats not fair ”

“Great Tough event.. but poor signage ! - Good Event! Well organized! But the signage didn’t work in the early hours of the morning! They should have had some reflective tape/markings! Nearly everybody missed the first markers and end up running in a circle! I personally clocked an extra 6km..”

“A mess n term of signage and marshaling - There was almost no signage to indicate where to go and no Marshall. There was ‘old’ signage from the spartan race and we didn’t know which one we had to follow. Especially for the 20k solo where you make a u-turn and come back. On the way back there was nothing to indicate to way to go. Me and a group of leaders (I was 6th at that time) we did 1km additionally and lost from 5 to 10 places. When you see what you can get in UAE in term of serious organization, it is just unacceptable!”

“A great course with one sign misplaced. - I know that many may be complaining about making wrong turns. I did the same, and that meant an extra 2km. The turn that I, and many others, missed was at about 4.5km. There was a sign indicating left, but it was about 50 meters to the left, so we didn't see it in the dark. Ultimately it's my fault, but a sign at the junction would have helped. Aside from that, I think it's an absolutely fantastic course, and I will definitely do the race again. Please call it 38K though, not 35. ”

“Good event..a nice trail experience - While everything else was very well organized, there were a few places in the first few (around KM 2 and on the return of the 20 Km at the 12-13 km mark) where Me, and a few runners alongside..had to stop and figure out directions / route wasting precious time. A few more route signs would have helped”
