ماراثون زايد الخيري – أبوظبي 19 نوفمبر 2022
ينطلق ماراثون زايد الخيري يوم السبت الموافق 19 نوفمبر 2022 تمام الساعة السابعة صباحاً، برعاية كريمة من صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة حفظه الله، من أمام فندق إرث (فندق ونادي ضباط القوات المسلحة سابقاً)، مروراً بمحيط جامع الشيخ زايد الكبير، ثم واحة الكرامة، والعودة مجددا إلى نقطة الانطلاق.
سيُمنح جميع المشاركين ميداليات وقميص الماراثون، كما ستخصص اللجنة المنظمة للماراثون جوائز قيمة للفائزين من مختلف الفئات العمرية في المسافات 3 – 5 - 10 كم سيتم الإعلان عنها لاحقاً.
وكانت النسخة الأولى من الماراثون قد انطلقت في أبوظبي عام 2001، و يحمل اسم المغفور له الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان "طيب الله ثراه".. ليتابع مسيرته بعد ذلك بثبات وتميز إلى العالمية نحو ولاية نيويورك الأمريكية، ثم إلى مصر مبرهنا ومقدماً الدليل القاطع على أن الرياضة أفضل وسيلة لدعم الإنسانية ونشر الخير، وأسرع رسالة للإنسانية محورها المحبة والسلام.

Donations

The Annual Zayed Charity Run this year will be held under the generous patronage of the UAE President his Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on November 19th, 2022
The annual event first launched in 2001 in AbuDhabi. It is a tribute to the founding father of the nation, the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May god rest his soul)
The Charity Run has had a few editions held around the world like New York and Egypt. This run supports the vision of the UAE of Humanity and spread goodness centred in creating love and peace

• Race Pack / Number collection details?

  Race pack collection will be advertised to take place on the 17th and 18th of November with no race pack collection on the 19th
  Race pack collection will be available on the 19th but we will aim to have the majority of race packs collected on the days leading up to the event.
  Check In which opens as per race day schedule and can be found in the Race Village.
  Race numbers will be sent via SMS to all runners and will also be on show at Race Check In on the morning of the race.
  Once you know your race number, proceed directly to your respective Bib collection desk and collect your Bib # with timing chip attached.
  Please check that all your data which is printed on the label of the race pack envelope is correct. This includes your name, age category, gender and distance and in the event of there being any errors, please let our registration staff know so we can change it for you, so you have the correct result when finishing the race.

• Are there bag drop facilities?

  No there will be no bag drop at the event.

  There will be water stations in the race village and out on the course.
  Please note - water stations will be self service and teams will not be allowed to feed outside of the designated zones. Any participants found doing so will automatically be disqualified.

• How is this event handling Covid-19 related concerns?

  We will be implementing the below precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all and ask you to support us with these efforts:
  
  • Stay in the Race Village Area till your distance is called to the Start Area.
  • Self-service water stations out on the course and at the finish line.
  • If you feel unwell on the morning of the event with flu-like symptoms, please stay at home!
  
  Any participants not observing any of the above rules will be disqualified without a warning!

  سنقوم بتنفيذ الاحتياطات التالية لضمان حدث آمن وممتع للجميع ونطلب منك دعمنا بهذه الجهود:

• Finisher Medal:

  At the completion of the event participants can collect a finishers' medal from the table and avail of the self-service water and then please make your way away from the event start/finish area and please continue to be aware of social distancing guidelines. We ask that everyone refrain from any hugging, high fives or handshakes - elbow and foot shakes are acceptable - we still want you to have fun! Race organizers have been working diligently to develop adjustments that encourage a safe and fair event while promoting physical distancing in every aspect of the event. Athletes should abide by the directives of the race director, event staff, volunteers, and the Hudayriyat Island security.

• Volunteers:

  Please thank the volunteers as they are volunteering their own time to help you enjoy your race and get you home safely to your families. Please also respect the host community as we are guests and please adhere to best practices to help protect others. You MUST wear an appropriate mask whilst moving in and around the venue prior to the start of your run. Whilst running in your race you may remove your mask but please remember to maintain the noted distance between runners and allow adequate spacing when passing other runners. Bag Drop - There will be NO bag drop onsite.

• Race Bibs and Timing Chip:

  Bibs must be worn on your upper body with the number facing outward.
  Safety pins are in the envelope.
  
  TIMING CHIP
  Timing chip is attached to the back of your race bib.
  Ensure your bib has 1 timing chip stuck to the back and if not, please see Super Sports staff on the day to issue you with a new bib.
  DO NOT REMOVE THE CHIP FROM THE BIB.
  IF YOU RUN WITH NO BIB – YOU WILL RECEIVE NO TIME AND NO RESULT!

• Race Rules:

  Keep to the right-hand side of the road at all time
  Follow the appropriate signage and course marshals.
  You must have your run number visible on the front of your upper body or race clothing and keep it visible at all times when on the run course.
  Shoes are compulsory.
  No form of locomotion other than running, walking or crawling is allowed. – this is excluded for the Wheelchair can Paracycling Categories.

• Start Procedures

  Please wait outside the start area till your distance is called to the start line.
  Runners to self-seed themselves with faster runners near the front and more social runners toward the back.
  If you start with the wrong distance you will not receive a time for the race eg: if you entered the 5km and you start with the 10km no start time will be recorded.
  Chip times will be used for this race.

• End of Race Procedures

  QR Codes will be placed around the race village for participants to see their live results – live results are considered unofficial.
  Once official results have been checked for any anomalies all participants will be sent an SMS to their official results
  Photos will of participants will be uploaded through out the duration of the race for participants to have these available when they have finished their race.

• General Information

  FINISHERS MEDAL
  When crossing the finish line, please keep moving through the finish chute then you will receive your finishers medal.
  
  REFRESHMENTS / WATER STATIONS
  There are 2 self-service water stations on course and 1 at the finish line. There will be fruit at the finish line.
  
  TOILETS
  Please use toilets as directed.
  
  AMBULANCE
  Paramedic services will be on site and in the event of any athletes being in trouble, please inform the closest race marshal to call for assistance.

• Road Closure time

  With the design of the course we would be at risk of a vehicle making their way on to many part of the course if theyy were to gain access to the route.
  Due to the nature of this event and the intertwining of all 3 course we would request a full course closure between the times of 6:30am and 7:30am. Thereafter CP6 to CP8 remaining closed until 8:45am to accommodate any walkers
