Enjoy the beauty of the Els Club golf course while taking up the challenge of finding as many control points as you can in one hour. Afterwards you get to enjoy a delicious BBQ Buffet dinner at the Els Club. Orienteering challenges the mind as much as the body and offers a different experience to normal running events. The race course control points are kept secret until just before the event start and released during the race briefing.

What is orienteering?

Orienteering is where you use a map and a compass to find various control points. Control points are orange and white triangular beacons.
Do I have to bring my own compass and headlamp?

Yes. Organizers will provide maps of the race course.
What clothing should I wear?

A normal running or sports outfit will do with something warm should it be cold given that this is a night event?
What time is race check in?

Race check in is at 5:30pm with the race starting at 6:30pm.
Where and when is race pack collection?

Race pack collection is at the Els Club on race day.
Is there parking and other facilities at the venue?

There is adequate parking and ablutions available at the Els Club.
What are the categories for the race?

There is one open category for Individuals and teams of 2 or 4 competitors.
What is on the menu for the BBQ dinner?

The menu can be found in the Downloads section.
Will there be water on the race course?

Water will be provided on the course and at the finish with soft drinks.
Is this event suitable for novices?

Yes, the race is designed for competitors who have no orienteering experience.
