Showka Dam 2 is the UAE’s oldest MTB event location, having hosted events including the Hot6, Showka XCE, Turn & Burn XCTT over the last 10 years.
This year the second event of the brand new UAE Mountain Bike Challenge Series is coming to Showka! A fantastic course of 4.1km per lap, with singletrack, rocky climbs, fast descents and wadi crossings make for one of the fastest and most fun race courses in the country!
Adding some spice to the series, Race 2 returns to Showka and will be run as a pairs team relay. Each rider completes one lap then hands over to their partner. Each rider does 4 laps each. First pair to complete 8 laps wins.
The course is longer than the ITT, but still still with some great mtb features. It will be open for practice an hour before race time.
Pairs teams can enter as Men’s, Ladies, Mixed or Juniors.
You will need UAE Cycle Federation to enter MTB events for 2021/22 season. This can be bought at UAECF.ae or at the event. Just speak with one of the commissares at the race. Entries at the event are not possible so please make sure you register entry on Premier Online to set a place.

• Do I need to be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 Vaccine to participate?

  Riders aged 18 years and above will be required to present proof of any vaccine recognized by their national government or a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours.

• How do I find race my race number?

  Race Numbers will be given upon sign on. Race Check In starts from 6.15-7.15. No registration on the day.

• Do I need UAECF Licence to compete?

  Yes. UAECF Licence is needed. This can be arranged after you race at the event with Commissaires themselves. Just bring scan of passport, residence visa, vaccine certificate. Cost is 300aed for the season and will allow entry to all MTB, road and TT events this season.

• How many laps are there for each category?

  Race starts at 7.30am and will be mass start with first member of each pair.

• What is the level of difficulty of the course?

  INTERMEDIATE/BLUE. Course is open for practice one hour before start. Course map below. Rolling fast circuit of 1/2 singletrack, 1/2 double track, 2 wadi crossings, 2 climbs (singletrack), 1 RED GRADE descent with BLUE GRADE chicken run alternative. 4.1km per lap expect 15-25 minutes per lap depending on ability.
