We chose July because of our inspirations and aspirations. To be at the level of one of the most extreme races in the world, we need a very important external factor: heat. In Badwater, the heat easily reaches 50º in California's Death Valley. In the BR135+, the humidity levels in the air in Minas Gerais can reach 90% and the heat can rise to 40º. Or even higher!
In the PT 281+ Ultramarathon Portugal we'll be between the two. During the month of July, in the places where the race passes, the thermometers easily go over 40º in a dry, suffocating, burning heat. This is a factor that easily puts the PT281 Ultramarathon Portugal at a level of extreme difficulty.
