As the summer heat begins to fade and a new sporting season kicks off, we know that there are many of you who would like to get into or improve your triathlon level. Sportzone is therefore organizing a 'Get into Tri' session. This is directed towards new or beginner triathletes who would like to learn more about triathlon training and racing, gather some good tips and lessons learned from experienced triathletes; and enjoy a relaxed informal race at the end of the session to put it all together!

We hope to see many budding triathletes at this session.

  • What is the schedule of the session?

    The timetable for the event is as follows (times may be subject to change):
    06:00 - 06:10: Introduction to Triathlon - Swim, Bike,Run (and Transitions!)
    06:10 - 06:30: Transition Area - how it works, how to set up your kit, pre-race preparation
    06:30 - 07:15: Leg 1 - The Swim - finding your start position, entering the water, swimming in a large group, sighting, swimming around buoys, exiting the water, entering transition
    07:15 - 08:00: Leg 2 - The Bike - putting on your cycle kit, mounting your bike, completing the cycle, dismounting the bike, entering transition
    Leg 3 - The Run - putting on your run kit, concrete legs (!), tips for easing into the run
    08:00 - 09:00: The Race - 300m swim, 10k cycle, 2km run.
    09:00 - 09:15: Race Review - what went well, what went wrong, will you do it again?!
    09:15 - 9:30: Final wrap up, short Q&A and session end

  • Location

    The training sessions will start and finish from Al Azaiba beach -. check map on event page. Transition area for the Triathlon is by the Al Azaiba beach carpark
