The DIP Cycling Challenge offers a variety of options, including 6KM and 10KM
family-friendly rides, as well as 20KM and 40KM competitive races. This event
is designed to cater to riders of all levels and aims to foster a sense of
community while indulging in a spirited sporting activity.

For those who embrace the challenge, trophies will be presented to the top 3
winners in each race category, and all participants will be honored with
finisher medals. Moreover, a substantial cash prize pool totaling AED 30,000
awaits the top 5 overall winners in the 40KM and 20KM categories.

The DIP Cycling Challenge is proudly organized in collaboration with Dubai
Sports Council, RTA, and Dubai Police. This event wholeheartedly supports the
Dubai Bicycle Friendly City Strategy 2025, dedicated to transforming Dubai into

  Whether you are new to cycling or a regular rider, join our community ride on 14th January 2024 and take part in a fun and competitive cycling event in Dubai Investments Park.
  
  The DIP Cycling Challenge will feature 6KM and 10KM family-friendly cycling rides as well as 20KM and 40KM competitive races. This fun as well as competitive cycling event brings together the whole community for a fun filled sporting activity.

• What are the awards and prizes?

  TOTAL CASH PRIZE AED 30,000
  Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 winners in each race category and all participants will receive finisher medals. There will be cash prizes with a total value of AED 30,000 for the top 3 overall winners in 40KM and 20KM categories.

• What are the registration rules?

  *All participants will be required to agree to the terms and conditions of the DIP Cycling Challenge in order to participate.
  *Children under 15 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  *Waivers must be agreed online to complete the registration process
  *No refunds for participants who do not take part in the event for whatever reason
  *There will be NO registrations on the race day
  *Transfer of race entries to another party is STRICTLY prohibited

• Do I need to register my child?

  Yes, you do need to register your child. Children under 15 years must be registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• What is the DIP Cycling Challenge route?

  The DIP Cycling Challenge will feature 6KM and 10KM family-friendly cycling rides as well as 20KM and 40KM competitive races. • Will there be support stations and emergency during the event?

  *The route will have checkpoints and will offer hydration and medical assistance
  *There will be a medical team at the event village as well as first aid and safety team as well as first responders available along the route. The health and safety of the participants is paramount.

• How are the participants timed?

  For this year's edition of the DIP Cycling Challenge, riders will be using rental timing chips provided by the organizer.
  Please collect your race pack (timing chip included) during the allocated time and location.
  
  Make sure to return your "TIMING CHIP" after the race. Failure to return the chip will incur a charge of AED250 to the participant and a disqualification from the race results!
  NO CHIP means NO TIME and NO RESULTS.

• Are there safety requirements or rules and regulations the for riders?

  * Riders must enter their respective age category.
  *Riders must wear a protective helmet, NO HELMET NO RIDE
  *Riders must wear appropriate clothing and footwear
  * Every rider requires a bib number and must be pre- registered. Every rider must at all times display their race number legibly and ensure it is pinned on to the back of shirt.
  *Riders under the age of 15 years must be accompanied by an adult
  *Riders must comply with the instructions on the information signs installed along the route
  *Riders should drink plenty of fluids before, during and after the event
  *Riders are expected to ride safely while exercising extreme caution and avoiding any actions that may put their safety or others at risks. Riders must not ride dangerously or negligently.
  *All riders are recommended to have their own personal accident or health insurance
  *Riders who do not start on their respective flag-off time, may be disqualified and not be allowed onto the course. The organizer accepts no responsibility f

• Is there a race gear?

  Dress, hydrate, and protect yourself from the sun appropriately.
  The following are essentials:
  *Bike
  *Helmet
  *Race apparel (jersey, shorts/bibs, helmet)
  *Change of clothes for after race
  *Shoes (clipless or non-clipless)
  *Eye protection / sunglasses
  *Proof of race entry
  *Hydration and nutrition (before, during, and after race)
  *Tool kit, including spare part essentials such as tubes, and a pump
  *Plastic bags for wet clothing, and towels to dry off with or change of clothes
  
  Make sure your equipment is up to the race or ride is a very important and often one of the more overlooked areas for new riders. The last thing you want is to have a mechanical issue during the event due to something that could have been easily spotted and fixed. It is a good idea to have a bike shop or mechanic to carry out a check on your bike at least a week before the event. Be sure to check everything from your helmet to the cleats on your shoes to ensure everything is in good condition.

• If I don’t have a bike, can I use a rental and where can I hire from?

  If you don’t own a bike, you may use a rental. Rental bikes can be hired from a number of outlets in Dubai and the UAE. Bikes may also be hired with helmets (which are compulsory whilst taking part in the DIP Cycling Challenge).

• What kind of bikes are allowed, and can I use a TT bike?

  Any road worthy bike may be used for the DIP Cycling Challenge. However, TT bikes are not permitted

• Will there be bike racks during the event?

  Limited bike racks will be available near the riders village

• Where is the event parking?

  There is plenty of parking space at Dubai Investments Park (DIP) Headquarters

• EVENT WAIVER

  Each participant has informed themselves of the medical contraindications that may affect their participation in DIP Cycling Challenge and, absolves the race organizers (including medical and technical staff) of any responsibility for medical problems or injuries that they may incur during the event. By signing the race rules and waiver, each participant confirms that they are aware of this and agrees explicitly not to hold the organizer liable nor to claim compensation in any way.
