The DAMAN Ramadan Race will take place at the Al Ain Cycle Track on Saturday, 15 April 2023 at 10pm.
This community cycling event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to enjoy a fun-filled evening of cycling during Ramadan. The 72km distance is open to 16+ years for both male and female while the 23km distance is for hand / paracycles. Our goal is to promote healthy lifestyles, encourage physical activity, and bring people together in a social yet competitive way. The course can accommodate a range of skill levels, so everyone can participate and enjoy themselves. The route will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of our community, giving you a chance to explore and enjoy the scenery. Most importantly, we want this event to be safe for everyone. We will have volunteers and staff along the route to assist with any issues, and we encourage all participants to follow event rules and regulations and wear appropriate safety gear.

  • By what time should I arrive at the event venue?

    Please arrive at the venue no later that 30 minutes before your start time.

  • What is the event day program?

    Be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the start of your respective race.

  • What are my options for parking?

    Parking is available at the Al Wathba Cycling Track Main Entrance

  • Race Pack / Number collection details?

    Race Pack Collect – Race pack collection will take place on the night of the event.
    Your race number and timing chip collection are close to the start line as per the Race Schedule.
    • Race numbers will be sent to you via SMS the night before the race, please know your bib number before you arrive at the race pack collection desk
    • You must have checked in and received your timing chip 30 minutes before your race started.

  • Are there bag drop facilities?

    No there will be no bag drop at the event.

  • Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

    There will be water stations in the race village and out on the course.
    Please note - water stations will be self service and teams will not be allowed to feed outside of the designated zones. Any participants found doing so will automatically be disqualified.

  • Whats the estimated finish time of the race?

    The cut off time for the event is 00:30

  • Are TT bikes allowed?

    Triathlon time trial bikes ARE ALLOWED AS WELL AS BIKES WITH AERO BARS.

  • Finisher Medal:

    At the completion of the event participants can collect a finishers' medal from the medal rack in exchange of your timing chip.

  • Volunteers:

    Please thank the volunteers as they are volunteering their own time to help you enjoy your race and get you home safely to your families. Please also respect the host community as we are guests and please adhere to best practices to help protect others.

  • Timing Chips and Race Numbers:

    • Timing chip is attached to a velcro strap and to be worn on your LEFT ankle and please RETURN after the race.
    • Bibs must be worn along the midline of your back or slightly to the right on your back so officials can easily identify you.
    • Safety pins are in the envelope or use a race belt.

  • Bike Rules:

    Bike direction will follow the normal traffic direction
    • All participants shall wear a protective helmet, undamaged and unaltered, which meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
    • The helmet must be fastened before the participant first mounts the bicycle; at all times when the participant is on the bicycle and must not be unfastened until the participant has dismounted.
    • Triathlon time trial bikes ARE ALLOWED AS WELL AS BIKES WITH AERO BARS.
    • No tandems, recumbent and fairings or any add￾on devices designed exclusively to reduce resistance are allowed.
    • All passing takes place on the right

  • Who will receive awards on the night?

    Medals and Prizes to be awarded to the first 3 riders from the following categories
    Male Juniors : Ages 16-19
    Male Open: Ages 20-39
    Male Masters: Ages 40-49
    Male Veterans: Ages 50+
    Female Overall
    Hand Cyclists / Para Cyclists
