Al Marmoom Women's Cycling Challenge promotes women’s aspirations in the UAE and encourages women and girls of all ages and abilities to participate in the region’s only cycling race dedicated to women.
The Challenge is open to riders who wish to race as well as recreational riders and novices.
The race will take participants through the stunning Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve on a made for the purpose (Al Qudra) cycle track.
Race, ride and enjoy the scenery of one of the most beautiful desert terrains in the world, taking in the landscape and protected wildlife.

Teams of 4+ participants may enter. All team members must register individually within the same race distance and mention Team name during registration process. Each member of a team will pay their individual entry fee. Top 3 finishers in each team will be ranked.

    Starting at Last Exit Al Qudra, the challenge will take participants through the stunning Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve on a world class, made for the purpose cycle track.

  • Does Al Marmoom Womens Cycling Challenge support any organization?

    Proceeds from Al Marmoom Women’s Cycling Challenge 2019 are dedicated to Al Jalila Foundation’s Farah program to support children’s treatment in the UAE.

  • Can people of determination take part?

    Free entry for people of determination with SANAD Card. Please email your entry details and copy of SANAD Card to info@womenscycling.ae

  • How do I enter a team?

    Teams of 4+ participants may enter. All team members must register individually within the same race distance and mention Team name during registration process. Each member of a team will pay their individual entry fee. Top 3 finishers in each team will be ranked.

  • What is #hercyclingchallenge?

    Al Marmoom Women's Cycling Challenge is a cycling event open to women and girls. It is for elite cyclists, recreational riders and novices. It promotes women’s aspirations in the UAE and encourages women and girls of all abilities in the UAE to participate in the regions only cycling race dedicated to women.

  • Are there safety requirements for riders?

    Regulation helmets must be worn. No helmet, no ride
    Every Rider requires a bib number and be registered
    Every rider must at all times display her race number legibly and ensure it is pinned on to the shirt back
    Every rider must ride carefully and with due regard to the safety of other cyclists
    Every rider must immediately comply with the instructions of a marshal or member of the organizing team
    Every rider must bring hydration and sun protection. Riders should drink plenty of fluids before, during and after the event
    Every rider must wear appropriate clothing and footwear
    Undertake a proper training regime to prepare for the Event
    All riders are recommended to have their own personal accident or health insurance
    Riders who do not start on their respective flag-off time, may be disqualified and not be allowed onto the course
    Riders must not ride dangerously or negligently
    Riders must permit faster riders to overtake without obstructing
    Riders must not use mobile music devices while rid

  • Will there be spectators area?

    There will be designated areas for spectators to view the start and finish as well on the route.

  • Where will the Riders Village be situated?

    The Riders Village situated at the Last Exit in Al Qudra, offers fun and refreshments for the whole family, including medical screening and food outlets.

  • What medical facilities will be available?

    There will be a medical team at the Riders Village as well as first aid and safety officers at each check point as well as first responders available along the route. The health and safety of the participants is paramount.

  • Will there be any checkpoint on route?

    The route will have checkpoints every 8-10 km depending on the terrain and will offer hydration and medical assistance.

    5:00 AM - Open registration \ Bag drop off \ Open Riders Village
    6:05 AM - Close registration
    6:15 AM - Race briefing & Warm up
    6:30 AM - Race starts
    9:30 AM - Awards ceremony
    11:00 PM - Close Riders Village \ Baggage drop off \ The Al Marmoom Women's Cycling Challenge ends

    Participants are advised to arrive at least one hour before their race starts

  • What are the race/ride categories?

    Below 18 years of age, participants must obtain parent’s/guardian’s consent to take part.
    Photo ID and proof of age will be required to verify the age categories entered.

    All UAE nationals, UAE residents and residents from outside the UAE may enter

    Under 13 (may be accompanied by an adult)
