“Another hit! Enjoyed the route and appreciated the km markers. Flannel give-away good. Saucony t-shirts more breathable than the ones used for this run.
When is Abu Dhabi getting its own full 42km marathon?”
“I feel good now that i participated in this 5k event, i would definitely participate in such events in future. Was so well organized . i would also recommend my friends to join in.
Thanks to all who who were involved in organizing this great event!!”
“Thanks once again for the great job in organizing this event. Really enjoyed it. Seemless organization. Would it be possible to have an option to register at a discount and not receive the race T-shirt? A big thanks to the volunteers for cheering us on and handing out refreshments and to the finish line announcer for helping us get one last push. I was wondering if trying to take 1 of the three annual events to an alternate location would be possible? I know its tricky, but F1 track or Yas?”
“All good. Have fun every time I participate in the ADCB runs.”
“Again, very well organized by Abu Dhabi striders and the volunteers. Thanks. As a 10 k runner it was a bit of zigzagging between the slower 5 k runners . A longer straight line to the finish would be more suitable than the hairpin bend 100 m before the finish line, but that's a detail. Enjoyed the race !”
“Where did the donation to charity go?”
“Well organized and presented event. Very nice venue. Will be there next time.”
“Consistently great event, well organised, interesting course and good support. Thank you to all involved”
“I was glad the event started on time. I very much enjoyed this as my first 10k run. I found the organisers and fellow participants very friendly and welcoming. Thanks to the volunteers too. ”
“Only question and its not a criticism was the race exactly 10k's long.”
“Really had a good experience with my family. my suggestion is try approach more companies people like to participate.
“Very well organised and executed. Need to get the staged start times for different time caterogories better organised please”
“It's Very Good Event. I want to participate Again and Again....”
“The event is organized. Maybe in the future, the event will be held in other location to make it more interesting. Probably a more open/public place would be good.”
“Improvements could be made at the starting line to thin out the runners to avoid bunching up and slow starts. Other than that it was another great event......”
“Liked it... Could have done better on the breakfast part though. Where was runner behind me who didn't finish (I was second to last) I felt a bit strainded and I had to rely on my gps to figure out the route sometimes. I wonder if would have been better if someone road a bicycle or a gulf car to check out on the last competitors? They are the ones who needs the most support. ”
“The course was not the same as in the precommunication email.
5km slow people were all over the place for the 10km finisher and it was more a slalom than a race on the last 2km.
Apart of this awesome event as usual !!”
“This race course is very easy course, almost of course is flat. So it is easy to know your ability. You can try your best without any concern!”
“As a regular to these series of events the only critique I would have is that the route needs to change, sorry it gets a bit boring especially if you regularly run all three events every year!! Sorry! However, as always, very well organised and it's a great run. Oh! One other thing, Costa coffee needs to have a stall a bit nearer to the race. ”
“It's fun but I don't know where the proceeds will go.”
“This event was wonderful. The organisation was great and so was the running course. The online process prior to the race was easy to read and all information was readily available. The event pack was really nice, I loved the bright green t shirt. As for the bib, I would've preferred another mechanism other than the clips. I also feel as if there should've been more support stations and more photos taken!”
“Great event ! will definitely be back...no choice....I have to seriously improve my time ”
“As a first time runner I was not sure what to expect and turned up early. The organisation was great and picked up my pack and tshirt easily.
The only thing which was a negative was down to the participants of the 5k not being honest about their projected time when queuing for the start which meant it was a little difficult to get around them.
Good level of staff arriving at the event to direct traffic and also during the race and finish line to hand out medals.”
“Exiting the event needs a bit more thought , as cars using same route as runners and little marshalling to control that.
Maybe a seperate exit road with cones and tape to make a cordon would be a good plan. ”
“Someone should be picking up the empty bottles that are discarded after the water station - or bins placed more strategically. They create a trip hazard. Small point - otherwise fully enjoyed it.”
“Hard work after the post Christmas festivities, but enjoyed it none the less. Thanks Steve and the rest of the team.”
“It would be much better to have the start on a long straight. This would allow faster racers a clear route to get ahead of the walkers or slow runners. Too many people block the way for the runners.
The route also has a lot of corners towards the end making it hard to have a fast/sprint finish.
Other than that great job guys!
See you next time.”
“All good. Just a bit of a shame there were no towels left for those that finished near the end. Otherwise all ok.”
“A big thanks to everyone who got out of bed on a Friday and prepare everything for the runners, not to mention all the preparation before the event. Thank you, I am grateful.”
“Pretty flawless throughout. One observation, on km 4 I think, there was a sharp right to lead down to the far end of the course. Immediately on turning there were two steps which took me slightly by surprise. A warning sign about the steps might be a consideration. Overall very well done though.”
“As always, Steve and crew do a great job. Always enjoy this series. ”
“Nice well organized race in perfect conditions. Its a good safe course. Very enjoyable - thanks.”
“Well done again to the Striders - many thanks!”
“Great brekkie and interesting course. Thanks to the organisers.”
“Congratulations for marshalls, great job.”
“Well organised and engaging. Little touches like the fun warm up, the person giving out the bibs using your name when wishing you luck, the encouragement from the marshals make the event stand out from others. The giveaways were nice, the breakfast too. Overall a fun, motivating event that I'd do again.
Only one thing, was it just my gps playing up, or did anyone else clock the length of the course at almost 10.5k? ”
“I think that this event is wonderful marathon always.
I ran with an 8-year-old daughter today.
We were encouraged for indication every 1 km.
Both I and her were able to run the whole distance today.
“Volunteer marshals did a great job, start and finish organisation all excellent.”
“Well-organised race. Highly professional approach.”
“Perfect running weather and an excellent run - I'm not usually a two lap kinda guy, as I find lap runs boring. NOT in this case though, the shape and path of the course remains interesting...
Big Tick: Love the bib number technique of race pickup. "What's your bib number?" shortly followed by "Here you go" = perfect.
Suggestion: Perhaps the additional distance could be added in one of the empty mid-course carparks rather than the carpark at the end? Minor, but just a thought!”
“Well organised. A bit too expensive...
“Another perfectly organised, highly motivating event :-)”
