“The volunteers at the support stations were fantastic - very encouraging! Very well organized, loved the course. So glad my money was going to such a good charity! ”
“Great course and water stations worked really well. Would have been good to have a drink and banana or something at the end as it's a tough run. Not sure how much of the registration fee goes to charity? Timing ok - hard to compete with championchip. How accurate were the km markers?”
“Really nice route. Fun event.”
“Prize could be more athletic thing. Like instead of sandal, free training class etc.”
“I was the last guy to finish the event and I was slow. The organizers (along with all the support staff and Marshals did wait for me till the very end. Thank you guys”
“Was good, and the cause was great too”
“It has been one of the best event I've ever attended. Location and organisation were excellent. I really enjoyed. It was amazing. ”
“This was a fun course to run around and the marshalling, water stations, organisation, etc. were great. I'm sure there's a valid reason for the timing of the event, but if it could be any earlier, even just an hour or so, I know my kids would have loved to do the 2.5km run. But alas, they're were asleep.”
“Running on the Gold Course a very different experience. THe weather the feel all was perfect. ”
“Golf club was lovely and it was nice and easy to race on the bouncy grass.”
“Great event that brings the community together. The course is good to run and full of interval which is great. all of this for a god cause. Keep it up.”
“I loved the novelty of the course and the event but would suggest for us slower runners an alternative energy source such as bananas etc as I was out there for three hours and did feel the effects of lack of food. Gels I find are really difficult to get down when already feeling hungry. Otherwise what a great event and next year will put way more training in!!”
“Although recorded as a "DNF"- I still am happy that I was able to complete one more lap (total 4) than 2013 in just over 30 minutes.... Both years without as much (any) training time outside. I (to only) complete as many laps as I am still "happy"- perhaps I am in need of a BROOKS "Run Happy" shirt/hat, or a different attitude. I am always impressed at the organisation/ability of local race originsers AND participants.”
“I enjoyed the race, couldnt' see, but that's just my blindness. I would suggest starting it a bit earlier, say, 6pm? Well done all the organisers and especially the marshals who did a great job encouraging us along the way.”
“Great venue, course and marshalling!!
please consider using chip timing next time to avoid confusion with results.
there could have been some food included in the registration price (at least a sandwich). AED 30 for a shawarma and AED 5 for a banana is too much. some runners did not get a shirt.”
“Great attitude from supporters; some dynamite prizes.
Course perhaps needs to vary - 6 times round a bit boring. Also, name of race terribly confusing. Forget this 'Kilo' thing; a marathon, or half marathon should be just that. No description of what this means on the registration site. I found out too late I had signed up for the wrong race. But big thank you for changing me halfway through the run
Age categories and/or finishers medal would have been nice.
Big thank you overall,”
“Well organized, family atmosphere, friendly support along teh track, great setting”
“Had doubts about even going (due to injury) but felt ready to give it a go, especially as it was laps and I always had the DNF option.
Pre-race atmosphere really got me up for it and the surroundings were beautiful. After the first lap it was evident that this was a really well thought out course with inclines, variation of surfaces and drink stations at regular intervals.
What really made it for me was the fabulous support throughout which was so important in getting me round.”
“I enjoyed the run ... timing, place and course was great organized.. . However, when I finished, struggled to get a respond what is next, or how long I took to run... still didnt get a respond and still dont know.... everything is ok except communication... was poor before the event,,, and zero after the event.... but still like it and wish to participate again....”
“I loved the layout of the course and the mix of terrains kept it interesting.
Given the cost to enter the race, I would have expected free food and sports drinks at the finish line. That's my only complaint. Otherwise it was a great race in a very nice venue. ”
“Good location, highly enjoyable run with a good atmosphere - friendly runners, enthusiastic volunteers.
Definitely run it again next year.”
“This was a great race and in the evening ! Thanks to the organizers and volunteers for this great event. Where will results be available ? I loved the course: grass, sand, gravel and the very enthousiatic marshallers who shout you on the sandy hills. More of this please !”
“The green golf course is so unique and nice to run.
A top race that I can recommend to all runners liking to run without any stress in an amazing scenery. ”
“Nice event in a good cause. The course is great workout for the legs, the mix of grass, sand and pathways makes it unique. My legs hurt!”
“Good, tough run. Maybe a bit more in "goodie bag" but understand it was for charity. ”
“I'd like to run it again before it becomes too hot in 2015. ”
“Great event and course.”
“It would be good to use the premier timing chip...”
“Fantastic course, a great opportunity to run on a variety of surfaces. Well organized, friendly family atmosphere, lovely venue and so nice to run in the evening and not early morning. I wish we didn't have to wait a whole year to do it again, it would be great to have more runs like this. Thank you!”
