“Each WAR is better than the previous - Great job! Few thoughts to make it even better for next time: 1) registration should take place outside where we can have 6 queues for 6 categories. One major reason we didn't start on time is the queues were so long, but no one outside knew there were separate tables for Elite, A and B. So everyone waits. 2) the slide was neither fun nor helpful (in the sense that an obstacle should be). 3) end of the race hasn't changed in several WARs. Please include a 100-200m sprint after the wall. ”

“Great fun - The race was great fun. There were bottlenecks at a couple of the obstacles, eg the slide and the inflatables, which slowed us right down and caused some loss in momentum which was a bit frustrating (even though the slide was great fun when on it). Loved the tyre pull and flips - think us women could have done more on the flips or make the tyres slightly heavier. Perhaps an earlier start time? Food lovely. Thank you. ”

“Great Fun - The course had a bottle neck again at the slide, please avoid such obstacles where people have to queue to continue the course as it is very frustrating. At the finish, the organizers were collecting even the championship chips (golden color), two of my friends had to go back and collect them from the pile. This was again a little frustrating. ”

“Enjoyable event - I enjoyed the event. It was in general very well organized. The only minuses are: 1.not enough shades at the start; 2.lack of water in the first 2-3 km/at the start (although the red bull was available), I felt quite thirsty and was looking forward to reaching some water; 3. queuing at the slide-although the timing was not my target, I am still curious what woudl be my result without the queue In summary, it was good event that gave me the opportunity to identify my weaknesses and strengthes.”

Only negative part of the race was the 15-20 min wait at the water slide and not having it taken off yr time. Maybe have a stop timer going in and start timer going out to subtract time spent waiting your turn. The elite and A group had no waiting time. I was in E and waited very long to slide. Besides for that one point, everything else was great. support from marshalls along the way was encouraging too”

“Loved it, great day - Really well done. Great there were so many obstacles; a 1 km sand bag carry next time? Loved the hurdles & water slide (but not the wait), the raft jump, the monkey bars, scrambling up walls, barbed wire crawl tough but fun, loved the money bars and the fact that when you fell off it was really hard to get through on the plastic covered water. Just the tyre pull was not well explained. I fell on my back when one of the organisers lifted the tyre as I was pulling. She hadn't looked to see.”

“Epic day!!! - Amazing experience! Marshals were great with their encouragement esp when it was needed the most. Track was heaps of fun, not knowing what comes next was the best part! Cannot wait for the next one!!”

“Great event and well organized. - The slide doesnt work well and is dangerous-one guy knocked himself unconcious and we had to wait for over 5 mins at the top due to volume of people. Given its a race you have to get immediate access to the slide otherwise its not a level playing field. Also people were crashing into one another at the bottom- dangerous and causes more delay. Marshalling - generally v good but in water wade people climbing out and running at side and marshall didnt stop it. ”

“About the most grueling event I've done - Smashing event, well organised and very tough. Never change how hard it is, but maybe change the location of the water stations. 2 in particular come to mind, one right before getting a face full of sand crawling under the barbed wire (after would have saved a kilometre with a mouth full of sand) and the one before the brick carry. Other than that, don't change a thing. ”

“Great challenge for a Saturday morning - Great event - will definitely do again. Need to ensure no bottle necks on the course (e.g. the slide) - feedback from people I knew in categories B and C really put them off. Also should start on time, especially when the temperature is high. A support station immediately after the sand bag carry would be a great addition.”

Few suggestions... one more water station on the first 3k would be nice (at least for the last race of the season), bottle necks are really uncool. It makes a huge difference to have starting categories according to your fitness level. It would be even better if you find a way to make that more objective (previous timings etc). “Happy first time racer! - This was my first WAR and I really enjoyed it. I thought the race was well organised and challenging. My only complaint would be the slide. I heard that there was an accident and this was the reason why there was such a big queue. It took approx 15 mins to get through this obstacle. Personally I don't see the need for the slide as an obstacle anyway as there is no real challenge to it. That aside I thought the rest of the course was great and I'll be back in October to go again!”

“Well organized compared to other events in UAE - Hi, it was my first time participating on a W.A.R. and it was quite well organized. Also the course itself was really challenging and diversified. The only objection I have was the obstacle "Water Slide" which was logistically a more or less disaster (bottleneck). Most of the racers had to wait there around 10 mins and additionally the water supply for sliding down was far too less. So the next time either change this obstacle or adjust the starting intervals to avoid a bottleneck there. Thx”

“Previous event - Too many people !!! we had to wait for 9 minutes at the slide- and at few others obstacles like kayaks-. It was not a race anymore :-( Disappointing. could not improve my time then suggestions: limit number of participants to 500. Make it exclusive. Even if you increase the price a little bit, passionate Warriors will follow you. War 6 focused on profit rather than quality Alternative: organize the event on 2 days : 1 days for categorie C D even kids and second days for elite and A /B”

“Good - It was a great fun. However, the slide was not safe at all, as staff were letting people very fast behind each other which cause incidents and pain. Also the waiting time was very long and I would not recommand to do it again as it upset quite a lot of people and from the health & safety side point of view. Also the quality of the food was not best and I think the water which was provided during the race was a waste. Smaller bottle will do the job.”

“Great but bigger crowd seemed to have caused issue - Love this event. All Marshals are on the ball and very encouraging throughout the course. Well organized and a great vibe created. Brick carrying seemed like a bit of an after thought. Slide was fun but introduced a fairly significant bottleneck due to the numbers. Was nice to get a rest but as it's my third time taking part, I was hoping to improve my times. Think it a little unfair that staff were able to take part in the event. Two of which were on the podium. ”

“Great experience and reat challenge - If there are any negatives, it would have to be directed towards the water slide as that wasn't the best thought out plan as it built up really quickly and we were all forced to stand and wait for our turn. This slowed everyone down and was a bit frustrating. But all in all it was a great event and we really enjoyed it.”

“Start earlier, better spread out obstacles - There were point in the course where there was many obstacle and other where were too little. The obstacles planned was great but need to spread it out more evenly. Starting at 10am during cooler days are fine but once it gets a bit warmer best is to start the racing earlier. Other than those two things, this event was fantastic in all aspects. ”

“Well organized - Everything was well organized. Registration was quick. Signage was well placed. Only issue was with the slide when everyone wasted like 15 mins and people overtook eachother at that point which wasn't fair at all. I heard someone got hurt that's why it took a while. Even if that's true the person should be taken to the side quickly to allow other to continue competing without affecting the entire race.”

However the only comment I would like to give is that their was too many people that got caught up on the slide which added about 12-14 min to our original time. Being in group D I had to wait a while before proceding due to the traffic on that part of the race which affected my overall time.”

Here's a few suggestions for a slight improvement, the bottleneck that happened on the bridge, make sure it doesnt happen again, it messed up people's lead and timings, second would be add some muddy ditches, make the string pass longer and harder, so that it actually takes effort to get throw, lose the hanging tires maze or make it more interesting, and finally make the categories more organized, according to bmi maybe. cheers”

“Fun and challenging race - Please adjust the Monkey Bar obstacle to provide a softer landing area under the water. After I let go of the bar about ½ ways through, I was shocked and extremely disappointed to have felt such a hard landing, causing a shock-wave of pain in both ankles. I loved all the other obstacles but feel this one has a huge safety issue. ”

“Great event - 2x suggestions - Awesome had loads of fun.. 1x New obstacle suggestion as 4x tyre flips were very easy and all the 'runners' could easily do it too. Obstacles should diversify the race so that it is not just a 'runners race' as it currently is. Have a obstacle where you have to toss the tyre over a certain height (bar/pole) Like they have in strong man comps. 2x If someone cannot do the monkey bars or obstacle they have3 to do 20-30burpees..Guy in front of me could not do it dropped and walked the rest?”

“Great race....needs a couple improvements - Great variety in obstacles.. However, there NEEDS to be a water point long before the 3K marker. After the sandbag carry would be a perfect place to put a water point, rather than go over a bunch of hurdles, then run some more, then finally get to a water point just before you jump in the cold river and cool off anyway. I would also remove the slip and slide. We were all waiting for at least 10 minutes to get to our turn to slide down, and the slide is also not a test of your fitness. ”

“I liked it - Race was very well organized. Only I think that sand bag running was very dificult for smaler participants, because 36kg for 60kg man is very heavy and run with that 1,5km. Maybe in future you should improve this discipline. And there should be more swimming. ”

“Challenging, adrenaline pumping fun event - Four things: 1. Need to start event earlier in the morning it was too hot by the time we started. Great event in terms of challenging obstacles took it away from just being a runners event :) 2. Just need more careful consideration of obstacles knowing such a huge number of participants. Waiting for the slide for up to 15min was not acceptable people got cold and found it hard to get back into race. 3. Need more water stations 4. more km markings throughout course, only remember 2”

My only negative comment would be that I don't think the water slide obstacle worked as part of a race, only one person could go down at a time causing a queue at the top. “Good job! - Great Job preparing WAR 6! The staff was very friendly, organization very well coordinated and the whole event was good fun and challenging! Only a couple of things worth mentioning: 1-There is no water stations on the first 3k! Everyone will agree that there should be at least 1 station per km. Carrying the sand bags was hard, but water would have made it better. 2-The waiting line for going down the slide was too long! I waited at least 7 minutes! Not good... :( Thanks guys! ”

I thought it was a dismal failure to not clean the glass off the downhill climb over the wall just before the barb wire crawl. This was an obvious safety risk. The microphone for the pre-race announcements. Simply put,we couldn't hear much of it. ”

Also the different times people waited made it impossible to compare with friends as the line was moving 1 by 1 when I arrived, then started moving 2 by 2 so later groups waited less. This obstacle MUST GO! Praises: Very well organized and held in a new a clean facility. Highly professional execution in most regards. I hope you can add some more challenging obstacles involving thick mud.”

Marshals, organizers, music, sponsors, food = all great. Ideas for next year: 1) Start much earlier in the morning and start on time please! 2) Keep fitness categories for registration, but have awards for age/gender groups instead of subjective 'self-selecting' fitness categories. (16-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 45+)”

“At least 8 min wait at the water slide - There was quite a delay at the water slide part of the course because of the amount of people going through so we timed the delayed and it was at least 8 mins which made an unfair timing for many participants including myself. As I heard Elite and Group A didn't have any problems with that.I was in the group D but I've passed many people from Group C and B, so when I got to the slide it delayed me a lot.It would be nice if the organizers of the event can resolve it by next WAR.”

“Hardest and most enjoyable 10k I've ever done - It was my first WAR and hopefully not my last. It's very hard (hate the sandbags) but also very enjoyable. I do have a rant though - the slide was a nightmare - I had to wait 15 minutes to get down it. My official time was 1 hour 24, but if I didn't have to wait it would have been a lot quicker. This would also distort the timing for people who for everyone as people who didn't get caught up would have had a lot faster time. ”

I think that some of the obstacles are very dangerous, however, and need to be carefully assessed. Please inspect carefully in future even though it is the participants responsibility. ”
