“Well organized - The event was very well organized. I would have given it higher marks if the course was set up more as a loop rather than an out, u-turn, back setup. I understand that that may be out of the organizer's reach and that most of the events in the UAE are set up like this.”

“Room for improvement - Not enough toilets. The actual location was a good 15 minutes drive further than what the map indicated on the info pack, it should have been clearer. Very expensive for what you get. Marshals and aid stations were great.”

“Good event - Overall a good event, with a nice swim course with clear water. Some confusion between the race pack and the actual event on the bike and run course. The event pack and the briefing never stated that there was a different bike turn off point for the Sprint and Olympic / DIT. This created a dangerous situation on the course where Sprint athletes moved left to turn around without checking if there were Sprint / DIT bikes passing them at the time.”

Did the Olympic- the last part of the swim course disappointing as we got stuck amongst all the sprint distance athletes when they turned the last buoy....scheduling! 400 odd dirhams for this was extremely poor value for money.”

“Great location - logistics to be managed better - A very well organised event. Just two notes: Swim start timing should have been different. I found myself (Olympic) overlapping with DIT and Sprint athletes in the last part of the swim. A lot of "fighting" in the water approaching the beach! Arrival was very congested. Podium was right after the finish line and no room for moving around comfortably for both arriving athletes and spectators of the price giving.”

“Expense and cancellation - Outrageously expensive (took part in many events 15 years ago - always t-shirt and brunch included for a quarter of the price). Could not withdraw 2 days before the event (migraine) even though I had paid the Dhs15 - the tick box was totally misleading (cancel ANYTIME for any reason). The terms and conditions re ANYTIME really need to be made clearer. Else, a very well organized event.”

“Great Organization!! - Great Job by the organizers through out the event. Would like to specially thank the guy who kept clearing the transition zone when athletes were entering with their bikes. The swim course was longer than it was supposed to be - by around 150 to 200 Metres. But no complaints, it was fun and look forward to the next one. ”

“Amazing race - The race was perfectly planned, useful and clear race briefing. Swim in the transparent waters and very well marked course. I especially like the pool to remove the sand from the feet before entering the carpeted area in transition. Bike course very well marshaled and easy to follow. Water station every 1.5km on the run with water, aqualyte and sponges. Every detail was set and taken care of, amazing organisation for a great race. Well done !”

“Great event but transition area let it down. - Having been here before I know the access, egress and parking isn't great. Arrival and organisation was good with easy to find race pack and racking. A massive disappointment this time was the transition area. It was far too narrow and long, ok I guess this was due to the number of competitors but the area was too narrow and cramped causing delays especially in the passing of others. Support stations well thought out. Good finish line set up with medals and food and fluids. Thanks to all. ”

“Enjoyable Sprint Triathlon! - A most enjoyable event; convenient timing chip/race bag collection on the morning, great venue - clear, calm water for the swim, dolphins playing whilst you run is a bonus, quick results/prize giving after racing. Areas for improvement: a lot more toilets, extra shaded areas and seats, marshalls need to be FULLY aware of instructions to call out - I was told to go straight on the run but I knew that the SPRINT TRI needed to do a turn at that point.”

“Expensive but well organized with great atmosphere - This event was extremely expensive, even more so than ITU, which is an international event!!! For this price, you can please put up more shade&toilets. The venue is in the middle of nowhere, and for more than a 1000 people coming, one shaded tent and 10 portaloos are not enough. The amount of people allowed to hang around in transition is also shocking. They stand around, block bikes& pathways. The broader&wave-separated T-zones are much better. Otherwise, great atmosphere&well organized!”

“Event infrastructure sucks - Traveling on dirt roads out and back from the venue, parking on a dirt road and walking a mile in the dust to get to the event, woefully inadequate number of toilets available for competitors, and couldn't leave venue in a timely manner because the parking area was inside the event so cars could only leave when there were no competitors coming down the track.”

“Could be so much better - My first Tri Fest but many other events to compare. Journey to the event was epic and dangerous in some places in the dark, parking was disorganised and a long walk even though there were still spaces much closer. No marshalls on the walk to the event area so had no idea which end to go to. NOT enough toilets, big queues! Transition area was chaotic at times. Not enough shaded areas, no signage on way out, free towel and some shampoo and only banana and water once finished - could do better...”

“As expected, but a long way to go to be great - Second time here, and it went as expected, but the organisers have a long way to go to this a professional event. No KM markers for cycling or running, marshals not sure of route, cars driving over the running track, no directions when leaving the event, and the worst is people hanging out, chatting and getting in the way in the transition area. If possible, it was worse than earlier this year. I'll do it again but I wish the organisers would get a bit more serious with the setup.”

“Great venue beautiful beach - The run was poor, the route unimaginative 2 laps for a 5km route is not good, but my biggest gripe was the toilets 5 male and 5 female toilets for 500 people was not good planning, oh and a towel and a bottle of shampoo in the race pack AED495 seriously, not good value for money ”

“Good event - Really liked the timing chips and bags already on racks. Simple but effective idea. Aid stations very good and Marshall supportive, well done. Course good, clear open swim. More shade at the finish would have been good. Finishers and children waiting in same area as only one bit of shade. Good event, really enjoyed it! ”

“Too long ride to the venue - Not happy with the instructions and marshals should signal better. Since parking is too far and the ride in the car too long to get to the venue you should advise people about it. I left from the premier inn at Batuta mall at 450am, arrived 550am. ”
