“Great event, not well attended though - Pity about the timing failure during the event and thus not being able to print out time certificates on the day. Also a pity that the womens prizes were not able to be presented on the day. My wife has still to receive her Cup for being first in her age group.”

“Organizers Should reply to e-mailed inquiries - The location said Aspire only. Aspire is a huge area & there was no indication about the exact location inside Aspire. I sent e-mail & a reminder to the organizers, but no reply. I tried the Mobile no. listed, but was off at all times. Simply the organizers were irresponsible & arrogant. ”

“Enjoyable event - Overall an excellent first time event. The pre-race communications was very detailed even informing us of Corniche Closures. The start was a little deayed however, this was not the organisers fault that the police didnt arrive ontime to close the roads. And it was a single loop course which makes a nice change for Doha running courses. Overall and enjoyable event!”

“Nice race but the route road is rough. - Rate it as nice race but lack of water stations for 10k and the road is rough made of cobble blocks. It also start about 25min. late where the sun is already full risen making the run harshly hot. Timing needs improvement too as my personal time was not captured and recorded. They said I might started and finished so fast..not so nice reason as it is a race where you need to run as fast as you can.”

“Needs more organisation and trophy for all groups - They got the tags mixed up and had only medals for the 10k, not the 3k. The awards given out were for every category in the 10k but only the overall top 3 for the 3k. They need to also be a bit more on time with the start. The course had a really sharp turn in it which made a stop start in the middle. so generally, slightly better course, more/better medals. Other than that it was good and great fun, definitely enjoyable.”

“Ive experienced much better - Quite disappointed at the late start. I remember only 3 drink stations for the whole 10k course. It was a very hot morning so definitely needed water available every 1-2 kms. Received NO communication before the race about details on where to get race pack, etc. I do not live in Qatar so would have been nice to receive race details via email. And I still do not know my time and do not know how to find that information. ”

“Good Run. Good Race. - The race is good. Only complain that I have is I have not receive the actual starting point and race details before the day of the race as promise from the previous email. But overall its a good run.”

“Friendly atmosphere, with emphasis on fun and run. - Music much too loud at all times and we were made to run on the cobbles when the path next to it was free! Not much fun when hot and tied! More shading at the end of the race required in fact the speakers were stationed right where people wanted to have photos taken so queuing up was very unpleasant. Water supply was good, more advertising would have helped more of a crowd to create a better atmosphere, the finish line was tricky for people taking photos as they were facing the sun, this meant a poor quality of photos produced, turn it 90 degrees to allow better opportunities of shots. Starting on time would have helped as it was getting hotter and much of the last loop was facing the sun. However I enjoyed the run, as did my 2 sons, who were competing for the first time.”

“Feedback about the event for further improvement - Good motivating atmosphere during the event. Volunteers were very helpful. On the premier marathon web page it is mentioned to contact Haya / Phil at 55114253. Could not able to reach to this number over 2 days’ time. Kindly provide only that info which is authentic otherwise do not confuse by providing wrong info. There was no communication through email related to the detail information about the race that was supposed to be sent after the registration got closed. It was difficult locating the name of the participant on the registration desk as no PC was used. Organizers shall be very clear which announcing the event to which categories / positions they are going to give awards. There was lot of confusion during the prize distribution ceremony among the winners of different categories.”

“Great event with some niggles - Fantastic location, good course, early morning a good choice for the region. Marshalling and course marking a bit patchy but bags of enthusiasm. A real shame that the start was delayed apparently by the Police closure of the roads. Communication on how the timing system worked was non-existent and at the event it seemed to breakdown and change timings/finish position a bit randomly. It was very disappointing to be told that I had come 10th in my category V50 then later given a different time and told I had come 19th! The finishing station ran out of water long before the event finished. Huge field of participants really energizing.”

“Communication prior to event should be done sooner - I registered for 3k fun run. However later i decided to changed it to 10k. I emailed organizer, and they approved it. However on the day of event, i was still placed in 3km list! I informed the rgistration desk and they said I can proced to run for 10k. I even passed the hardcopy of email from organizer saying that they would change my category. I still run 10km and now my result in stuweb is the last place in 3km category!! ”

“Good day, good race. - Good race on the day. But received absolutely no info from organizers except the acknowledgement email after payment. I had no idea of route, parking, etc. until I got there. On the whole it was a great event, except for the pre-race info (which is important to any runner). ”

“Shocked - This is my first time to participate in an event like this, me and my other Qatar friends joined and we were very shocked when the water station refuses to give us water while they gave all the foreigners next to us, just because we are muslim? Qataris?! And when we asked for a reason the women working said that they foreigners need water for dehydration! While me and my other 4 friends are obviously participating and have our numbers on our shirts . This was racist , disrespectful and shocking- instead of an equal treatment to the locals and the foreigners, the workers were very disrespectful and shameful. I am not including all the workers but the three ladies working at the water station in the start/ finish line. I believe i deserve an apology and the racist workers must learn how to behave and respect their place and know that I will not tolerate this behavior, as a muslim, arabic and Qatari women. Me and my friends believe that this will be fixed and actions will be taken. Refusing to give me or any of my qatari friends water while they gave everyone else- just because they were not qataris is a shame ! ”

“Overall very good, except late start and low water - Overall very good event, would definitely come again. Unfortunately let down by late start, would have been nice to run in the earlier cooler conditions. Also distinct lack of water stations, only two in a 10k race. Puts runners at greater risk. ”

“Great event with some improvement on organisation - Great event, motivational marshalls along the way. They did a good job cheering us on. I have three areas for improvement: - the race info said you could collect your race pack one day before the race. I went on Friday afternoon and could not spot anyone! - the start was delayed by 25 minutes. I understand there was some issue with clearing the roads, but that should have been dealt with. 25 minutes makes a lot of difference in temperature! - course was generally well laid out and signage OK. There were a number of light posts on the track (only 1m high) and I think they could have been better handled, I hope nobody ran into them! many thanks!”

“Overall it was a great event. - The only bad comments I can say are that the water booth was not provided every 2km as per stated and that the event started late than as per mentioned.”

“Not bad- needs improvement - Race started 20 minutes late due to roads not being closed off on time. This delay just makes it harder on the runners who must bare the heat and increasing temperatures. It is important to start on time. Water stations were too sparse, they were at 2k, 6.2k, 8k and finish. There needed to be one between 2k and 6k on a day of 27C with no clouds water is vital. ”
