“Good race, poor medal and timing device - A stunningly beautiful race with a fantastic view of the Burj Khalifa. Truly a lovely race. Race medals are very poor quality both the medal part (which is a hard plastic) and the ribbon part. The vouchers would be good as they are for go sport etc BUT unfortunately that can not be used in Dubai. They are only valid in Abu Dhabi. Very upsetting when the race is in Dubai and people live in Dubai. Seems like a waste of paper giving these vouchers out when they can not be used. All of mine went in the bin for all 3 races. The timing device is HUGE and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, seems like a very outdated method of timing. Why not use a small chip attached to laces rather than the huge, bulky strapped device around your ankle. It moves and rubs and causes burns on your ankle. Definitely could not run longer than an 8K with that timing device on your ankle.”

“Good in most aeas - The course was boring, especially if you were doing 8K!”

“Enjoyed the run, will be back again - Would be good just to have one loop of 8 instead of 2 and my watch read that it was slightly short of 8, otherwise very enjoyable”

“Lots more to be improved - Good work there you guys on some of the good changes brought in, but not too happy with the not so good changes as well. Wish you fellows would just get a better venue for the run. ”

“Much improvement - A lot of improvement has definitely happened as compared to the previous events, but still a lot more can be improved. I noticed Go Sport vouchers have disappeared now and T shirts and caps giveaways have now become hankies. ”

“Enjoyed the run - The only thing that was a bit annoying was I had received an email with my race number. When I went to collect I proceeded to get that no. Only half hr later as I was passing the bin station again I heard someone say that we all had new numbers and to check the board. So I had to go nk and get my new number. Only for me overhearing this as I was padding I would of not know. Better signage would of been better in this area and more communication needed from people giving out the bibs to ensure we were aware of the re allocation of numbers.”

“The every thing was nice - On registration page always says she's some goods like T shirt and never saw them .”

“Nice track, no directions, no recycling - This was my first event so I don't have much to compare it with. But finding the track was incredibly difficult due to no signage out there (thank goodness I wasn't driving!). Registering and picking up the bib was easy, found the course start easily. Nice course. 'Goodie bag' was a hand towel, appreciated my Aasics discount voucher. I was disappointed that there was no designated recycling bin for the hundreds of small plastic bottles that were discarded alongside the banana skins. It would have been so simple to label one of their bins 'recycling' to separate the rubbish, then take the time to deposit the near perfectly clean plastic bottles at a recycling centre.”

“Was better organized last times - The route is great and so is the venue. However, this time there was a last minute change of bib number and there was no email info about it, not even a notice at the venue. If you came in from the side door you wouldn't know. Perhaps the names should be with the numbers on the signing sheet to avoid mistakes. As usual no sign of the promised t-shirts/cap/bag. Just a simple towel, in spite of the high price. This complaint has been going on since many races now. I find it arrogant from the organizers to ignore it. The certificate is empty!!!!!!”

“Perfectly solid if unspectacular event - I enjoy these 8km (or thereabouts) events....they may be some way off perfect in terms of organisation, but the run is absolutely fine. For me this was a rehab run after injury, and it did the job. Only real concern this time (for first-timers rather than those who have run at Meydan before) is that there was not the usual email with pre-race instructions (or at least, I didn't receive it). Anyway, I'll keep on showing up at these races.”

“Lovely course but my experience ruined see below - I'm a great supporter of running events here and know the hard work that goes into them. However there the event details mention tshirts for all participants not towels (lower perceived value) Also I won the female 40-49 category but there was a chip timing issue so missed the podium, enjoyment if my hard work and didn't feel even when this was sorted with organizers that anyone particularly cared... Spoiled my day and I really hate complaining!”

“Disappointed really... - I wasn't impressed with the organisation of the event. There was not one sign to indicate where the race was being held, where registration was and for a first timer, i was very confused. When collecting the bibs, the box of pins wasn't even in the same place, didn't make sense. the course turn around was dangerous as we had to cross the middle of the road which was dug up, major trip hazard that cause people to slow down and lose rhythm when there was a perfectly good gap, 25m away, the start end could have been adjusted for this. the advertisement was the most shocking, since the goody bag didn't exist. there was no tee shirt, bag or cap, just a small towel today, people like to collect the tee-shirts as souvenirs. the race was expensive enough without getting any value for money, especially since i always finish last and am doing this to challenge myself. i still don't know my time for the event, i tried to ask the guy at the computer and got shooed away, not so friendly. i wont be coming to this event again.”

“Okay event, cool environment - 1. difficult to find event, one indication on Al Meydan Rd "Asics Race, Gate 1" would have saved 10 minutes 2. breakfast (1 banana) is ok, but was annoyed to pay 10 AED for 1 cup of coffee 3. no clock at finish (3 hours post event still no idea about time). No finish lists printed out 4. no T-shirt as promised ”
