“Should have been postponed - The organisers can do nothing about the weather but to start an event in the desert when poor weather and thunderstorms were forecast (and when a storm had passed through the course an hour or so before the start) was absolute madness. Few riders in UAE are equipped for rain - the organisers need to recognise this! The event had already been revised late the day before because part of the course was expected to present problems.”

“In spite of the weather a good event. - Considering the very poor weather the day before and on the morning of the event the organisers did very well to stage it. I was happy with how it went and would certainly ride the event again.”

“As a new cyclist I now have the bug-I will be back - I only did one loop and was able to enjoy the refreshments at the end of my cycle. However I was disappointed to see everything being dismantled and taken away before those doing 2 loops were finished as they were the ones who needed the refreshments the most .... ”

“Well organised overall - This was my first build up ride and first time on the track... It was a very relaxed start given that it wasn't a race per se, but I was disappointed to see that on the second loop, the only water/feeding station on the course had been packed up and cleared away before I even reached it! This is really disappointing as more often than not it is the people who are struggling at the back who need it the most. It would be better to advise people that there is a cut off time if the water station is going to be cleared before finishing / say how long it will be available - at least that way, the stragglers will know what they are in for!! (It was the same at the end - we only just managed to get to the stand where the waters and bananas before as they were clearing it away). Apart from that, it was really enjoyable - what a fantastic facility! ”

“Heavy rains not properly handled - I was registered to the build up ride 4. As you know there was heavy rains still early morning and my neighborhood (umm Suqeim) was well flooded. I do not think it was safe to expect people to drive with their car in the dark at 5AM with flooded roads. I guess I am not the only one who took the decision to stay home and I find the lack of communication on this subject very disappointing. The organization should propose to reimburse the pre-payments (I paid for the ride and the pack) due to these extraordinary circumstances. Cashing in the money without any kind of consideration for the specific circumstances is disappointing to say the least.”

“Best venue to ride - This is the sensible start point for all the races regardless of length - perfect facilities- ease of parking, - I see no logic to starting it at the preceding roundabout and having 1 portaloo for a crowd of 500. So I think perfect to start at the Quadra 50K loop proper each and every time. I'm concerned about doing the 92k in traffic- I'm scared of getting run over.”
