“Course Safety - The course was unsafe and the main issue is the turn around point. This event could have been ran from the other start point at Al Qudra. The big loop(49K) and recently added small loop(18K) is 67K and would have been a better course for the event. Also, the track width is another safety issue in my opinion. There were almost 500 riders on the track, with non-Spinney's event riders trying to ride. I believe you were lucky NOT to have had more accidents.”

“Much prefer Meydan - Really cannot understand the move out to the Al Qudra Road. I ride there every week but for this event it is too narrow and I did not feel comfortable at all especially being surrounded by some many novice riders who change direction, speed and just plain mess around the whole time. Another two laps at Meydan would have been much better”

“Growing with confidence for the 92K! - Thankyou to everyone that gives up their to time to organise and marshall, felt safe all the way (was near the back though). ”

“Well Organised. - Was a little delay in starting, but not much of a problem. The organisation was fabulous, I was worried about the turn around, at half way mark, but was done very well. Great job. ”

“Too dangerous to take the risk again - Nope guys - we are blessed here with purposely built tracks to ensure cyclist safety (read: "loop" - NO need for U-turns). Why arrange the event in such manner to guarantee a catastrophe? This is beyond me (and others I see in the ratings). No fun (esp. for the guy that went back in an ambulance) having a cyclist crash into our bunch. Oh also interesting to notice particular well branded group/s passing and yelling “nice word of encouragement” to slower riders. Nice PR...”

“Course could of been better - The out and back course made for very dangerous passage along with other cyclists already out on the course. The turn around point was very congested.”

“Dangerous!!! - I ride in a group targeting 32-34km/hr, you would expect that level to comprise of regular group riders who know when and how to call out hazards. I did not hear or see any body close to me call out any hazards, and there were plenty. The hazards at this event were multiplied when the front of the field turns around and begins to head back in the opposite direction to the rest of the field. Everybody is reminded about safety before the event begins, but it is not adhered to.”

“Good and useful build-up ride - I think the Cycle path is a little too narrow for an event with this many participants”

“Great as long as you accept an element of risk - Now that Al Quadra has additional length, running the course in one direction only would go a long way to reducing the risk of group riding (with a high proportion of inexperienced riders) on a narrow track with two way traffic.”

“Danger danger danger - Bikes riding towards each other in large groups at speed is a recipe for disaster and sure enough there were once again some bad crashes caused by oncoming falls. These organisers really need to look at this. There is a course there which simply does not need to do this and it is irresponsible to ignore that. Combined with a local team who ride like they own the road it was extremely dangerous. The event is a build up ride not the tour and should be safe as a basic rule. ”

“Excellent event, well run and managed - It would be good to see some of the sponsors provide prize give aways on the day or race packs. ”

“You have to do something about the route - I absolutely love the Spinneys 92 event and Stewart and Spinneys does a tremendous job. However, the 65km route has been highlighted as dangerous before and hundreds of cyclists of varying abilities hurtling past each other on a tiny track is asking for a fatality. Having to filter around traffic cones halfway is ludicrous. The new loop and old loop is 67km with every one going in the same direction. Why on earth wouldn't you use it?”

“Great ride but dangerous - An 'out and back' route at Al Qudra is too dangerous. I witnessed one head-on crash and there could have been more. Having cyclists going both ways is too risky!”

“Mixed feelings - The event was well marshalled and the route well signed, but as nice as Al Qudra is as a cycle path it simply isn't suited to this number of cyclists setting off at the same time. Appreciate the attempt to stagger the start, but in reality the groups ended up being unmanageably large with many people not used to cycling in large groups. This caused a lot of collisions and near misses - meaning overall the morning was quite stressful! I don't think I will do an event at this track again.”

“Great series well organised - Really good, throughout only complaint is the other entrants. Yes we are competitive sods however riding in a group like that we need to communicate/be cionsiderate that the folk further back cannot see obstructioins other cyclists etc. if everyone was in the habit off relaying a message from the front that would make it all a little less stressfull. Otherwise again really enjoyable ”

“Enjoyable Ride - Enjoyed the ride, pleased that the marshalls split up the riders at the start as the track is narrow. An out and back course is kind of dull - why not just call it 70km and do the 2 loops... (which I think is about 68km, in fact). Some of the ratings above don't apply, of course - maybe Premier Online could have a N/A rating for them for some more meaningful data? ”

Comment from Premier Online - 01.11.2014
“With the possible exception of 'Event Pack Collection/Delivery' (irrelevant if you already own a Classic ChampionChip), it's felt that all other available ratings options could apply to the event as each component existed, to some degree in the event. Please feel welcomed to directly message our Help Center with any further suggestions though, these are always welcomed. Thanks!”

“Much better than Nad al Sheba. - Good ride - much better than the laps of Nad. No nutters flying by screaming, "Get out of my way". Why can't all rides be here, 1 - one return stick, 2-one loop, 3 - 1 loop + extension, 4- Full loop and stick. Just a thought.”

“A great Friday morning - All good. Was a bit concerned pre ride about the two way traffic at speed but everyone was well disciplined and I didn't see any crashes. Good organisation again. Thanks Stewart and team.”

“Very Impressive barring a few misses. - Like the previous 2 build up rides this was organised brilliantly as well. Its amazing to see how Revolution Cycles is actively managing the event so brilliantly. Given the number of riders and the track, it was very well managed to ensure no major accidents. Only one major miss at the event was the arrangement for mobile toilets. The ones at the venue actually ran out of water and was a total mess. ”

“Good event, well organised - The online results service is pretty good and very prompt. However the sort by age and nationality function does not work. In particular it would be interesting to see the age group results analysis. ”

Comment from Premier Online - 31.10.2014
“As this was specifically not billed as a 'race' there were no age group categories and no 'results' per se, just individual times. The search facility on premiertiming.com allows you to search/filter by age and nationality. We hope this clarifies and we thank you for taking the time to submit your rating. ”
