“Great event - too narrow track! - Really great event and organization was good! However on some of the places there were situations on the track where safety was not the number one issue: we hade to be extra carfull on the narrow track not to hit others while passing slower riders.”

“An excellent day of cycling - Nad Al Shiba isn't an ideal place for racing around the loop especially with the new is shorterand has lots of sharp bends. ”

“Narrow course - Accident s caused by lack of briefing to new riders and new route”

“Brilliantly organised - The event was very well planned right from the stage of creating awareness till the end, ensuring that all participants were taken care of. All logistics including medical support were perfectly organised and the experience was absolutely flawless. Kudos to Spinneys, Radio 92 and most importantly Revolution Cycles for taking this sport to a new paradigm.”

“Too many people and the course is too tight - I have always liked the excitement of NAS build ups but this one was too busy and the course is too tight. No surprise i was involved in a crash and was a DNF. This was down to a very busy group ( not really an issue) but there was a lot of in experienced riders not holding their line and the end result was inevitable. Despite this it was a very exciting race but the NAS buildups are too dangerous for me now and i will not take part in them next year. Overall well organised.”

“It was v good overall - I think it will be good to have a short briefing before the start And the one who will give this briefing he or she must be very encouraging and full of power :-)”

“Packs need to be mindful of new riders - I enjoyed the cycle -although the big packs riding 6 or more abreast were quite intimidating and almost caused some of the lesser able riders to be pushed almost off the track. If you want to ride in a group that's fine - but remember the novices and not so confident riders who do not appreciate being shouted at to get out of the way. There should be more awareness of the space needed for individual riders.”

“Fun event but track to small to cater for everyone - With a vast array of riding experience, there were many occasions when accidents were waiting to happen, especially heading into the slower corners which are surrounded by metal and concrete fences with no run off areas. Only saw one high speed crash, which was a freak accident, but speaking to other riders afterwards, everyone had at least one close call story to tell due to bunching on the slow corners. Need a longer track if the numbers are going to continue to grow to keep everyone safe.”

“Another enjoyable Friday morning - Nice to have a bit of a change in the course. Small suggestion, why not place the timing mats on the right hand side of the course? We crossed the mats and were making our way back across to the right when we got engulfed in the huge group of front runners. There was no where for us to go to get out of their way as they went both sides of us and shouted some pretty rude comments. Shame that there are some selfish, rude, inconsiderate and dangerous riders out there that spoil it for others.”

“Great Fun, crashed out! - Oh No! Was really enjoying it, riding in a good, fast group, then a couple of guys hit the ground right in front of me at about the 30k mark - couldn't avoid them and ate some sand. Buckled front wheel, now unfort have to buy some new Aero wheels (at least that's what I'm telling 'er indoors). Was very impressed with the Medics who checked me over and made sure I was okay, even dressed my (very) minor wounds with iodine. Despite the crash, still great fun, liked the new course.”

“Another terrific cycling event in Dubai - Really enjoyed today's event. Loved the new course layout, happy to see the end of the sharp turns of the old course. Not sure what the man with the whistle was trying to achieve but found him amusing - he even gave me a good blast on my cooling down lap. I managed to count to 6 ok, although I made sure I was in sync with my Garmin lap counter. Coffee stand was nice - shame they were not handing out free samples. The Al Ain Dairy hand outs were very welcome as were the Spinneys bananas.”

“5 laps? - At what point did this go from a four lap meeting to a five lap one? I was not told of this - no signs I saw to indicate it was 5 but I have a DNF for my troubles - as did the rest of the group I was with I suppose. I actually did a 5th lap [with my wife on her fourth] but didn't bother going over the timing mat as I had supposed I had finished. She also has a DNF! Why did the chap at the start gate not say anything to those if us who missed the group start? ”

“Appreciate the efforts of all the helpers - Getting crowded on the track - the shorter course makes lapping inevitable, but passing in big groups is getting riskier.”

“Great event - Wish we could receive an instant SMS of the personal timing result on our mobiles on finishing.”

Comment from Premier Online - 04.10.2014
“Apologies from Premier Timing as a small technical glitch meant our complimentary Classic ChampionChip SMS service was offline for a while yesterday morning. Happy to hear that the normal service is appreciated though, it'll resume as normal in all future events.”
