“Good event, well organised - This was my first triathlon and it was an enjoyable experience and entry to the sport. I went on my own with only a youtube education of what to expect. Other people I met on the day were friendly and helpful. My only recommendations for improvement would be that I found the running section difficult as there was a large portion off road which was very sandy. In addition there could have been some better marshaling, I saw one lady run off course and there was no-one there to redirect her.”

“First triathlon, so all a bit new - I appreciate that the marshalls were predominantly volunteers but at some crucial points it was not entirely clear when where to go. a second time (and there will be 2 more races and I assume the routes will be exactly the same) it will be easier, but there will always be newbies to guide a bit better.”

“Best Tri to start the season! - Didn't come across any issues this time. I still think the spped bump ramps in and out of car park should be in the centre of the lane where cars wouldn't drive over and runners can stick to the right (because I have seen riders coming back in cycling over the opposite site against traffic and using the ramps on the far end as runners on the right side where running on the right side of the right lane where also the bumps for the cyclists are located. But overall just a GREAT EVENT!”

“Great event with spirit - The race and organization was very good. No problems with parking, restrooms or registration. Aid station with water only is sufficient for a sprint distance. Route Signage on the running track needs to be improved or the marshals should give directions BEFORE you have to ask them. It is great to use the facilities of the hotel but the "breakfast" was awful. After 80dhs and a 45min queue everything was gone and finally I got less than I could get for 25dhs at Starbucks. ”

“Good event but lacked ranking for the novices - Signage on arrival was poor, the parking was totally unlit leaving people arriving and unpacking their stuff in total darkness. Atmosphere and course were great. Overall event was good but it was disappointing that unlike last year their was no reference to the novice entrants in the results timings, and a request for this to the organizers post event went totally ignored. How hard can it be to let the beginners see how they stacked up? ”

“Great experience, could be improved upon - Where was the SWAG? Had a great time and things were fairly well-organized; I can't believe that more sponsors weren't out there handing out materials. One more water station on the run would've been nice. 19-39 is a very large age group to be at the old end of! Some chaos at the bike and run junctures between lap (left for bike, right for run) and finish (right for bike, left for run)...volunteers seemed clueless. Were photos taken of us at the finish line? 7/10, will race again :)”

“Great breakfast, great race!! - Really enjoyed the race, very well organised. I agree with comments about some riders being a bit too serious. The organisers can't do anything about these bullies, they spoil it for the less confident cyclists especially as this was a memorial race. Love the course except it would be better with a straight finish instead of the sharp left-hander onto the beach. The water station should be at the start of the sand then you would only need one instead of it being near the end of the race. Thanks!”

“Good overall - The race itself was good organisation, clear marking and good race briefing and organisation. Having not been to the resort or the race before I would have like more signage to get to the parking and from the parking to the event start and toilets etc. especially as it was pitch black and we did not know where we were going having not being there before. Also making sure helpers know where toilets are. I asked 3 helpers and no one knew, luckily a participant was able to direct me. ”

“Great experience for my first tri! - This was my first tri, and what a good one to start with! Picking up our packs was quick and seemed like a very organised system. The marshals along the way were brilliant, so encouraging and friendly, & other participants also extremely encouraging, which was so lovely. The MC was brilliant, the names on race bibs is a great touch so people call out your name- it's the little things!I would suggest more water stations along the run, and maybe in small bottles rather than cups? Loved this event!”

“An enjoyable morning spent at a great venue. - Another great event but I wish that some of the more experienced athletes were a bit more aware of newbies, particularly on the bike. I don't think someone flying past others and using poor language is the best way to encourage people. To then have the motorbike warn me of drafting was comical as I was one of those trying to help others understand drafting and riding on the right! So to the TriDubai guy shouting "you know the ....ing rules", perhaps you could offer some more pertinent advice?”

“Great event and well run thank you - Really enjoyed the event. everyone was very encouraging and welcoming. This is only my second ever tri so its hard for me to comment from experience. I found the transitions quite long between the swim and transition area but I understand there is not much you guys can do about that. same with the end of the bike ride as you have to slow down a lot for the last 500m to negate runners and speed bumps but again its hard to see how that could improve at the venue. Overall I really enjoyed it”
