“Say no to the vest - Great race that I've now done 3 years in a row, and is always well organized. Two things to improve on: 1) Race t-shirt is actually a vest. I know 5 other men who ran the race. I've asked all of them, and not 1 of us will ever wear that vest, so it will either be thrown away unworn or donated to charity. Charge 20d more and give us a real t-shirt. 2) Race pick-up. I travel a lot for work during the week, which made it impossible for me to pick up the race pack. Allow race day pick-up.”

Photo service was inadequate (even compared to 2014)...one suggestion, you can approach photographic clubs and they will produce fantastic images, also with out any cost.....this was seen in one of the marathons recently. Start area and the next 800m was quite dark and could be dangerous for runners. ”

“Good job, well put-up race - Overall great race. Only one thing: according to my previous times on the distance, I should have started in the first wave of runners, however since it was my first race in Dubai and with the ChampionChip system I got a normal bib. This looks like a fair system and was also being checked at the start line, but I also saw people who had the normal bib inside the fastest corral, which means it wasn't enforced enough or there was preference for certain runners. Rules should be equal for everyone.”

“Liked everything but the race course - Running most of the time on pavements, bricks creates stronger impacts than running on asphalts. No marshals under the bridge which is way dangerous because it is all the time wet. Pedestrian tunnel/underpass not recommendable, hard to breathe while inside. Would prefer water in a bottle rather than the one being pinched in, cannot drink properly especially running while drinking. Would prefer bananas rather than oranges. A lot of ascend and descend. A lot of low signages along the way”

One suggestion: I can't remember quite where, but certainly on the latter part of the race, maybe around 15km, some promotional/inspirational banners were attached to lamp poles at shoulder height, on the pavement, forcing runners into single file or outside the bollards and on to the road. If they had been placed higher, there would be no disruption and would still be readable. ”

“Best Running Race in Dubai - The best goodie bags, best breakfast and a very interesting scenic course in the Old Dubai. The course itself is quite technical with lots of turns, bridges and tunnel. So first timer will find it a little challenging. Not a PB course, but it is a course you will always especially running through old Dubai during sunrise! Will do it again for next year for sure. ”

The committee really goes out of their way to provide an amazing race experience and thinks about what runners need in order to have a great day, whether or not they are elites or first timers. If possible, please open water bottles and cans before you hand them to the runners!”

“21.1 km obstacle course, but fun! - I'm a regular sub-1:30 half runner; this was by first time on the Creek half. I finished the AD Striders half in 1:24 two weeks ago, and came in a full 9 min slower on the Dubai reek half, partly because I wasn't pushing but also because this route was an obstacle course... the start was a scrum for the first 1.5 km due to route bottlneck, then bricks, flower beds, swampy grass, low trees, innumerable curbs, etc. Fun and scenic, but not a route to make a PB. Would run it again though!”
