Organisers could take a number sheet or put someone on bag hand out who can deal with people. why even have the goodie bag? how many maids now have biscuits, jam, towels and cheap holdalls and the garbage that comes "free". same every year. race shirts getting better but the sizing is crazy. competitive start ? why put 1.40 and 1.50 with people who are running 1.20 !!!! weather was cooler than last year :)”

“Very Well-Organized Event - I was a bit confused at some of the turns since there wasn't enough cones to mark the way. Refresh stations were great and at the right moment when needed. Breakfast wasn't enough for everyone. I suggest taking pictures of runners at the beginning if the race also when we are still more relaxed :-) Also, I suggest taking pictures at more scenic locations, gharhoud bridge or old souk.”

“Nice to see sights of Dubai I haven't before - I am mostly disappointed in the fact that there are no photographs of me, especially on the finish line. If there are, there is no way to search without looking through every photo. Can't you put them in order of timings, we know our split times and finish time, so if the photo's are time stamped, at least we could find pictures without having to look at every photo taken? Drinks stations were poor, all the isotonic stations had run out by the time I got to them and I was in the first half!”

I came from Qatar for the event and it was well worth the trip, a much more enjoyable venue than we are used to over here. The only concern I had was picking up the race pack as it was not announced that we could do so the morning of the event, but 1 quick message to the organizers and they confirmed that option was open for overseas participants.”

Breakfast is a good moment but quality of food is going down. Pastries were a bit dry, orange juice used to be freshly squeezed, coffee was instant in hot water (!). Haven't heard about pictures, when are those available ?”

“Something No One Does.....Wait For The Last Runner - After not training for 8 months, being bed-ridden for 15 days with Chronic Bronchitis, I didn't have the capacity, let alone the belief that I could complete the course. I completed the race at 3 hours 28 minutes - making me the 2nd last competitor to cross the finish line. I honestly didn't think anyone would be there - let alone receive a medal. However, I was touched to see a Race Marshall standing there in the heat waiting to hand over the medal to me and congratulate me. Thank you DCS.”

“Phenomenal route! - Only complaint is not starting on time and the narrow path for the first 2-3KM and the weird turn in the souk. Other than that WOW! Love the little vampire waters that you bite into and drink, great placement of aid stations, the route was beautiful and flowed wonderfully, lots of marshals and support staff, the goodie bag was great and pick up was well organized. The best part, by far this year, was the extra water/snack stations. The organization was above and beyond the call of duty, in my opinion, and I sincerely appreciated it.”

Three complaints: One, that damn tunnel under the creek reeking havoc on my gps watch. Two, that awful turn into the Gold Souk that looked like a scene out of a Slumdog Millionaire; and three, sporadic water tables. Standard is 2.5 to 3k apart. Otherwise awesome!”

The only thing that could be improved on was the water, the small plastic containers were difficult to open and you could not carry it along the route with you if you wanted to.
