“Not enough water to run in the heat at 3pm. No timing chips behind the number to count the timing. They kept us waiting after we finished for another half an hour refused to give us the medal.”
“The route was boring and having the race at 3 onwards meant it was hot and caused a lot of traffic jams. Others experienced an issue with water running out, I had my own bottle so I managed. The MC was entertaining and easy to understand. The Fidelity guys overall were super friendly and supportive. ”
“Worst running experience ever.
Started half an hour late, using papers for registration taking long time to search one by one in printed documents like in old ages.
No enough water in 34 degrees.
They didn't inform the JLT residence causing frustration among people who were trying to enter/ exit their homes.
No timing chips behind the number to count the timing.
They kept us waiting after we finished for another half an hour refused to give us the medal to do their advertising par”
“I was very surprised by the lack of organization of this event. I am a beginner runner, I was however doing this run with a pro friend who had never seen this before. let me explain myself:
- Run did not start on time
- We had 2 circuit of JLT... at 3pm under 36degrees and during the second (and most difficult circuit), there was NO water to be found at water stations
- We were stopped at some point to let a car pass... I was shocked.
- Still waiting for my final time (and hopefully refund)”
“The event was great fun however some massive blunders were made.
NO WATER!!! - Running in 34 degree heat in the sun and no cold water at the stations was ridiculous and dangerous. We had to run into a shop on the way around the track.
The announcement of second place - massive fail.
No one knew about the medals at the end and the queues to begin with were too long. Not enough safety pins for peoples numbers.
Could of been a lot better put together. Biggest issue was the WATER! Thanks ”
“No water in every support stations under the heat made me exhausted and I almost fell out the race.
That situations would never happens again!”
“Bib numbers were not sent earlier and there was a longgg queue at the venue to collect the same, which is little inconvenient considering the afternoon sun! also there was no water during first lap, this is not acceptable at all. Runners in the sun and no water at the stations, very disappointed. second lap was better. Overall little disappointed.”
“1. Please have this event in the early morning or late evening. Running in the sun is potentially dangerous
2. Lack of sufficient water stations. Round 2, water stations were empty.
3. Major Embarrassment to you as organizers to have someone dispute for the 02nd Place! How did that happen?
4. Prize Money: On your advert it clearly says: Grand Prize: 20,000 AED. Nowhere does it say: Grand Prizes worth 20,000 AED. This is downright misleading & unethical.
Overall I have run better organized races”
“- No signal sign how to reach event from damac metro station as they mentioned in email walked around 2 km to reach the park
- No water along the race
- Start late after we had to stand 30 min under the sun to collect the number and lousy tshirt
- had to wait one hour after race to collect my medal and participants jumping over to get one
- It was too hot for a race at 3:30 pm!
- No official tracking of time as no chips attached to numbers so I doubt the results announced for winners”
“The refreshments were missing before, during and after the run. Even water in lap 2 was finished at most of the pit stops. 2nd lap being more crucial when water is required. The charges of AED125 per participant is quiet high considering that more than 1500 people participated, collection was close to AED200,000 and prize money was only AED20,000. The event fee included goody bags, medals, T shirts and refreshments will be provided. But Goody bags & refreshments were not provided. ”
“There is no water station on the course of the race. ”
“The support stations lacked water. When the water is most sought after towards later half, there was no water available at any of the support station.
Expectation is to be managed better.”

“Started 30 minutes late. The biggest no No race
No water in round 2 or at finish line
They were allowing cars if drivers were putting pressure . One security guy even asked us to stop at a crossing !
“Really poorly organized, a 30-min delay at the start without any warning until the initial scheduled start time was due, "briefing" was nothing more than the speaker reading the email that was sent to us, no water at aid stations, cars crossing the course right in front of runners. ”
“Race not started on time, can organize better”
“Not enough water on route especially for second lap.
Medal distribution whilst a great idea to keep everyone there for prize giving became a bit of a bun fight at the end.
Overall I would run this again.”
“I see many issues stated by other participants here.
[a] The time- Yes, we can all crib about 3/3:30 PM start, but it was pre-informed and 5/6 PM start was not possible as RTA permissions are required for road blocks.
[b] Race Pick Up- Yes, there was a long queue that delayed the event but pickup started at 11:00 AM!
[c] Water- This was a blunder indeed, no water in second lap with this heat
[d] Giveaways- Awesome medal, ppl had to wait but it was good strategy to have winning ceremony 1st. ”
“On the positive, it was a nice venue. Negative: there was absolutely zero water on the course, and zero water when you finished. For a 3 pm race, that's not acceptable (very dangerous). T-shirts should have been in women's sizes (not just men's) if we were supposed to wear them for the race. Finisher medals weren't handed out when you finished. I had to leave to move my car so didn't get one. I don't think the race organiser has ever organised a race before. Could use some help.”
“This event had a lot of potential. It could have been a great event! Things to improve on: (1) start later say 5 pm. Too hot to run at 34 degrees at 3:30 pm; (2) start on time (half hour late); (3) improve package pickup - stood under the sun for half an hour only to pickup bib (very poor system) (3) give medals at finish line (4) have enough drinking water (ran out in first 10 minutes!!!) (5) use timing mats to avoid time disputes at the finish line. Good luck on your next event.”
“Organisation was as shambolic as expected, and it was completely inevitable that there would be insufficient water. Still, the event is a nice idea and hopefully we'll have more. The course was well set up, although obviously a pain for the residents of JLT! Later start next time, please, more water....and give medals to runners as they finish.”
“They didn’t have any more water for second lap, very hot day.. not organized for giving medal.”
“Water stations should be better organized, 3 pm is too early and too hot, it is better to have a date start by 5 pm”
“Water was not enough and got over too soon for a 3pm race. The race was supposed to finish at 5 but ended sooner. There were lot of people who gave up as they started announcing about the closing instead of encouraging (or just waiting) to finish when there was still enough time, which defys the whole healthy community concept. Overall it was okay but seemed like they rushed to finish it ”
“I really enjoyed the event. However there is still some room of improvement. Because of the temperature, I believe the start time could have moved 2-3 hours. I do understand it has other implications when the starttime is moved. Also the water supply was not sufficient. At the end of the first round, the water supply was already gone. However, I have enjoyed and I hope to be there next year again. ”
“Event is nice ,facilities very bad .”
“Unfortunately there was not enough water( if you decided to start the race at 3 p.m. it is better to provide water during all race, not only for the first 10 min. Also it could be better to collect medals exactly after race, sitting and waiting for an hour it not so pleasant after running, and quiet cold. But anyway, good luck with future events!!”
“The event seemed well organised, however by the time we reached the water stations there was no water left - we certainly were not the first in the pack but we werent near the last either, to have so many people running in 30+ degree heat it seems risky not to provide adequate water. Overall nice event but I dont expect to do it again”
“Firstly, congrats to the organisers for putting on a good event that brought together the community. This felt really inclusive but also got some of the more committed runners and athletes to take part.
A 3pm race is tough in this heat. Add in the mandatory dark blue shirts that were quite heavy to wear, warm water that ran out at the stations and it tarnished the event a bit for me.
Would love to see an event like this again, but please think about the conditions and support. ”
“Nice event and well organized but the water finished at the last 3km and they were given out hot and with cap closed. Also, it started at 3pm and next time should start at 6pm with less heat. Overall though would redo it!!”
