“Setting a first impression - I took part by myself. I arrived to collect my race pack, the. Was left to fend for myself. "What do I do next? Where do I go next?" It would have been nice to have a welcome party that showed you what to do. It was only through asking security that I got a locker, then it was a last minute rush for a helmet, was I to take one from the pile, or from the shelf?! My allocated slot time had already got 5people in it, therefore I had to wait for a later slot time. First impressions count for a lot, you want to feel welcomed, invited,confident, but for me, this is why I won't be competing in the future. Organisation in Dubai falls below average in every event I have participated in unfortunately.”

“Ok event - should be longer - Overall the event should be longer. It took the vast majority of participants less than 20 minutes to complete. Incorporate more obstacles on the course - specifically those that require upper body strength. Should be better pre-race instructions (there were none) as you had to rely on race support personnel to tell you - while you were running - what to do. The obstacle where you crawled around and under the big balls was silly - there was myself and another participant there repeatedly asking what we were supposed to do and she didnt really answer well at all. There was no challenge in that obstacle - just wasted time. Also need to have 2 balance beams if you are going to keep that event because there is a queue on it and serious runners have to wait and they lose time. Instead of just running up the slope a couple times like we did, make it harder by requiring runners to carry something of medium weight up the hill - that would be a great equalizer for all. I will probably do this race again but hope that it is better next year”

“Cold Challenge Indeed - The course was a bit too short (15 min), some really good obstacles but others not really needed (freezing water pool). Some of the staff of Ski Dubai were not aware of the free locker that day, some people ended renting a locker on their own. The registration price (although for charity) was a bit too steep for such a short event. Marshals were helpful in signaling and supportive, some needed to explain faster the route or the task to be done. A bit of chaos on for the event giveaways, not very organized. Timing results were really fast! ”

No shirts or anything this year, just cheap biscuits, sweets and vouchers?? Did not feel like good value for money at all… I mean nice venue but poor course this year… Enjoyed last year more as it at least lasted longer than 15min.. Pitty!”

“Still fun, but way too short - After the course we completed on Ice Warrior 3 I expected something similar. This course was far too short and not as challenging as last year, although all the other positives still remained. Good organisation, good marshalling and the obstacles themselves were great, just wanted more of them!”

“Sprint not a marathon - Based on last year's staircase marathon, this was a sprint event with many obstacles. Made for a better and more ICEY Challenge. Maybe a few more challenges could be included as you go around - water slide / splash was an awesome addition! Next year - allow TEAM registration allowing friends / colleagues to run alongside. “250dhs for 12 minutes?? - Some clever obstacles and it was certainly a challenge but it was far too short compared to previous years. I know that all proceeds go to charity but come on - 250dhs for 12 minutes of activity? Add that to the 50dhs charge for a spectator to stand in the cold for 12 minutes and the whole thing adds up to a bit of a fleecing!! On top of that there was a charge for the lockers to store your dry kit!! Likewise the 'goodie bag' was equally as disappointing - I don't really understand how holiday brochures constitute goodies!! Strange how the initial listing on Premier Marathons for a t-shirt gave way to a packet of cookies and a bottle of fizzy water - I don't enter these events for the goodies but ....!”

“Loved it! - Did not get a goodie bag ;-( Stopped at the finish line but it was not the stop of the timing. Very bad organization about that!!! Would have placed even higher if I would have known that the finish line is not the finish line. See you next year!”

“Disappointing compared to last year - I was disappointed that the event was only half the duration of last year's race. Some of the obstacles were innovative and cool [pun intended for the ice water] but overall, it was just too short... when I finished I was thinking "that's it??". Also, I know it's for charity, but I would think twice about paying aed 250 for entry next year, and driving all the way from Abu Dhabi for such a short race. Organization was good (though it fell behind schedule, which is typical of most races in the region) and the routing on the course was much improved compared to last year. ”

“Tough challenging course, for a right cause - I loved it from A to Z, but I think if participants gets a briefing about the course/ stations maybe they could pace themselves better. Other than that it was fantastic Thumbs up and thanks for organizing see you next time ”
