“Beautiful Location, Small friendly event - The course is tough but interesting and includes some cross country. The event is small enough to feel friendly despite quite a few people turning out for it. Only slight downside is that there are no real giveaways in the bags and the free breakfast isnt particularly appealing. But it is still quite good value for money”

“Great route, great atmosphere, great community! - I travelled from Kuwait to take part in this event. It was really well organized, and the route was lovely (it was nice to see mountains after so long). Loved the t-shirt too :) There was a great atmosphere on the day, everyone was friendly and there was a lot of support staff. Overall, this is a great event to participate in. I will be back next year! ”

“Great route. Poor finish. - The rase was well organized. Good lead up. Tons of parking. The route was great and challenging. The finish line was killer. It was poorly marked, gravel, people and cars crossing! Not impressed. The meal after was complete crap. Not healthy or appealing, especially after running 21k in the heat. The shirts and medals were nice.”

“Great event! - Loved this event, it was awesome. Great organisation, superb marshalling, great hills. My only niggle is the toilets at the start. PLEASE get some portaloos as there were simply not enough. It delayed the start and also meant I had to stop off en route to find a loo which cost me valuable time. Other than that, brilliant event!”

“A challenging race - A great race set in the beautiful Hatta area -the hills were challenging but the event was thoroughly enjoyable with lovely views and great team spirit. 2 recommendations would be: 1) get more toilets and so, the race start will not be delayed - a delay is really frustrating especially going into a half marathon and 2) don't bulk buy a consignment of medals and then put a cheap sticker on the back!”

“Fantastic scenery and challenging run - Too few toilets at the start/finish line. Run was delayed due to people needed to go to the toilet. And there should have been at least 1-2 toilets along the route for the 21 km runners.”

“Challenging but great change of scenery.Loved it - A total change from most other running races in Dubai, scenic and not a boring moment as the stretches are rolling and the dam climbs are challenging both uphill and down. Great addition of the trail section which was closed last year due to weather. Nicely marshaled and organized. Highly recommended and looking forward to next year's event.Thank you”

“Challenging but Awesome - First thing first The Course is amazing & challenging as they said. The medal could be better with some engraving instead of cheap sticker at the back. The course was not properly marked, runners were taking shortcut at the end from backside of parking. There should be more route markers for the course & starting point as well.”

“Great race - Another fantastic race this year! Kudos to the organizers and special thanks to the police and race marshals. Course was a fun challenge with lovely views. Only constructive comment I can offer is to encourage the marshals to better advise runners which side of road to run on when runners are crossing back on one another. This was the case for 21k on road in front of stadium which also had some cars. All other communication was great. Already looking forward to next year!”

“Could have been so much better. - Unclear access to start line. Huge queues at toilet delaying start by 15/20 minutes. No coffee voucher given to me when everybody else got one with race pack. Ran on roads open to traffic and therefore almost all of the race done besides trucks forcing runners to breath their emissions. It all the above could be resolved, it would be an amazing event as the route is great and challenging and ambiance really friendly. ”

“Hill the World, Make it a Better Place! - This definitely falls under one of the half marathons I've done with the steepest hills. Despite walking the two killer hills, I thought the route was exciting, challenging, and definitely not boring. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the medal. I've got two identical medals for the two 10k Ignite night runs I did and was hoping that the 21k medal would at least be different. Unfortunately, it's exactly the same. The start line could use some better organization too. Else, great event!”

“Medal could be slightly better. - It's a general medal with a sticker for all races. I need to be proud to have a 21k memento but with medal I can't say or tell what I achieved as it has a simple sticker mentioning everything. A comment by another runner I saw is quite relevant. It could be engraved and be of different colours as it is in the standard chartered marathon. ”

Please engrave the medals, don't just put a cheap sticker on - they are great medals spoiled by bulk buying a load and adding a cheap sticker. ”
