“Excellent event although out timing chip did not work which was a shame as I think I achieved a PB but am not sure.
The breakfast was excellent, but I dont think it was as good as last years.”
“Need to have better route planning + quality route support services. Also think about race t shirt which is a big motivator on the race day ...it was given in the previous race.”
“More goodies to give away and definitely T Shirt for the event to provide like all other event organizer providing.”

“Really enjoyed event, parking OK as warned about issues with kids race in Media City... Please try harder to get faster runners in front of slower runners at start. All chip timed. Maybe have line up flags at start line with finish times under 90 mins then under 100 mins 110 mins etc etc..That way should help spread and take the issues of too many slower people at the front especially as first 10km is on narrow cart tracks the up and down were fun. Food excellent and Physios were very welcome. ”
“Course is very hard not as mentioned 'easy', lots of hills, slippery downs with sand track & pavement run along road outside the golf course. Course could be kept inside the lakes would be nice. Medal should have date & distance engraved on it for souvenir. Breakfast was excellent service & quality. Timing results issue resolved later on. WC availability midway on the course could be added.”
“Organizers communicated ok marshalling ok but portion was on roadways with some traffic, no shirt or goodie :(
No potty stations 21km should but it was half on gold course open, and second half on roads? not super set up ”
“Good race but warm and humid from the start. Perhaps to start race sooner next time”
“It was well organised, and is great to be able to make a weekend trip to Dubai for a 1/2 marathon. I ran last years course, as much as it was pretty running around the lakes, was very narrow path. This year, the path was wider around the golf course, but to many turns/bends and undulating to slow you down, even out on the road we had to run on the pavement. but all in all I enjoyed running it, just wasn't a PB course. ”
“This was a fun event, with good atmosphere and excellent organization at the start. The first part of the course was quite narrow and difficult for faster runners to pass - perhaps more effort at a staggered start would have helped. I didn't mind the second half of the course in terms of scenery - it was nice contrast - but the road crossings were dangerous and the water stations seemed too infrequent. Overall, well staffed. Thanks for the delicious breakfast and massage services.”
“Great morning race but the route was not good. A combination of bricks, sand, gravel, road makes constant changes in my footwork that caused blisters. No shirt giveaways again! Hope they could get a legitimate sponsor next year.”
“I think you did a good job with the resources you had, but was disappointed not to have a tshirt--would prefer that to the breakfast or would have paid extra for one. The first half of the course in the golf club was great; the second half wasn't so much--a big, dusty, square with traffic....While you didn't have a ton of volunteers, you had them extremely well placed--impossible to go off course and controlling the traffic well. The blond woman staffing the major road crossing was amazing!”
“It was going to be much better if they could have avoided going out on the roads! it was a bit boring running around 10 K outside the Emirates Golf Club.
For the WC, it wasn't good at all, no tissues, not clean, maybe next time it is good to pay attention to this point!”
“Route Signage incorrect (especially the ones at 13,14,15,16 km)
Delay in Timing & result services”
“-Even after 3days, official result was not opened.-I was open 3rd place but was not called at ceremony.-Open 3rd place trophy is much smaller than 1st/2nd place in each category.-By mistake of route guide & water station, I made loss time. And route signage was not enough.-Distance signage was not correct.-In event pack, two different number and no clip.-I did much training for this event, however, I was very disappointed about poor organization.-Organizer is cheating serious runners!”
“The run inside the golf course had two many twist and turns ”
“I liked it was in March as have one half in Dec, then Jan full so good run to finish season. Timing for collection of numbers was OK. I felt great vibes around, not too crowded. No medals and more give aways would be nice. Communication was good. Results with little delay, but all there. I felt it was enough parking, good marshals. Water could be in small bottles or opened (it was not easy to open&drink while running).
All in all I enjoyed super early morning (up at 4:30am)&would do it again :)”
“Negligible value for money - feeling ripped off”
“The race was great. Organization perfect. I however prefered the itinerary from last year because of the 2nd part of it that took place on the road instead of around the lakes as in 2014. Marshalling & route signal was good. Results service could be given per category and be dynamic. We could receive a t-sirt too.”
“Please stop making medals. medals are for the first 3 positions. I would rather have nice give-aways (t-shirt, bag, water bottle, isostar tablets, goo, power bars, etc.)”
“Good race. Thanks to all the volunteers. Really enjoyed it. ”
“Very well organized from start to finish, nice finish area for spectators to wait. Just wish there had been more spectators along the route to cheer everyone on. Great event, will definitely run it again.”
“One of the more varied and interesting courses in Dubai. Loved running round the golf course and the road section allowed for some variety. Biggest let downs were the poor accuracy of the km signs on the road section, the drinks stations and the paving on the golf buggy track. These aside, a good event and worth doing”
“Thanks for the efforts of all involved in making this a pleasant and memorable event!”
“Thanks for your hospitality and congratulations for organizing a great race in a beautiful place”
“ Since water was provided in cans, it should be opened for runners; I wish it could be organized on the beginning of the season, before the heat and humidity hit. Also, I wish results were sorted by age category...
However, it was a very beautiful route, in spite of some little uphill and a lot of curves…

“The course was nice but the water station and signages were very poor. When i reached 15k water station they ran out of water and some of the runners were collecting left over bottles to rehydrate themselves. I have ran many Half Marathon but never ever came across such situation. There were not enough water for all runners. The water stations were not where they supposed to be and please make sure such mistakes are avoided in your future event. I flew in to participate but was very dissapointed”
“Till now there is no result uploaded in the site
can i know the result ?”
“No toilets in the support station”
“Simple but efficient...
Great scenery, running around the gold course.
Route signage was not very accurate.
“Overall I thought the event was well organised. Interesting first half of the run, second part of the route was not so interesting. The KM markers were way off beat also according to my GPS and the event giveaways weren't worth the effort from the organisers. Still, any organised/official run is a good one. And hats off to the volunteers once again. Great stuff”
“Unfortunately I have three gripes with this event: 1) the water stations were not prepared for the number of runners - one of the stations was giving out whole bottles of gatorade instead of pouring it into cups. I cut my fingers on the sharp foil lids of th water cups. 2) Some of the marshals were not very attentive to traffic or the route (outside the golf course). 3) I still have not received my time result. The clock said 2:29 when I went under - maybe I was too slow?!?”
“Very good event, even though my GPS watch did not agree that it was a half marathon. according to my GPS we ran 21,3 KM, but the more the merrier.. :)”
“Great route in the golf club but poor marshalling when crossing roads. Biggest downfall was the lack of water station and then the helpers giving out the water were not prepared for you . I don't live in Dubai but travelled for this race- was pleased it had a nice early start due to the heat but I'm not sure if I would return for it.”
“Only one negative remark, most of the km marking was incorrect. If you run only with crono , like me ,difficult to verify.
For the rest congratulation to all.”
“Maybe the sand portions can be eliminated. The massage services could be improved with shorter wait times.”
“Once again a superbly organised event by FBA Sports and ECG. From the pre-race support (tea / coffee / bag stations) to the after-race support for the runners (massages, gatorade, water etc.), a great morning and great event.
One concern though is the actual distance of the course... my tracker measured 21.64 km's, and while mine may not be perfect, I did speak to a few people after the race who also mentioned that the km's seemed very long and that the total distance was incorrect. ”
“Great job volunteers, they couldn't have done it without you !
(water supply and sports drink portions were perfect).
Breakfast after was a nice added bonus, thank you. ”
“The Golf Club Part was good and I'd have preferred to do two laps rather than running around Jebel Ali race Track. the road crossing felt dangerous and some of the km markers were way off (>500m). I don't need another T-shirt, but a decent medal would have been nice instead of a generic Golf Club token. Breakfast was disappointing and the result delivery very poor. There's lots of room for improvement!”
“Race pack collection Pathetic.
Water Station were removed for the Last runners.
Water logging was there in between route.
Few times went on wrong route because of poor signages”
“It's hard to find the results, hasn't found mine while I'm writing this.
There was a "support" station halfway through where gatorade wasn't available only to find out along the way, bottles of gatorade littered on the ground only half empty.”
“Possibly look into more parking facilities/ availability as I am sure the event will have more participants in the future!”
“Loved this run, the first 10k around Emirates Golf Club during sunrise was fab, after this you're half way there! This race is value for money, with a nice medal and post race breakfast. Highly recommended.”
“Started running only 2 months ago, 4th run of the season. Was emotional experience, and cracked my 02:20 goal by a big ass 10 mins....
Poor medal though - golf club standard, NO T-SHIRT”
“Very enjoyable event, small, friendly and laid back. Loved the course around the golf course although the tight path made it a slow run as overtaking was hard. Well done to the organisers for taking control of the road crossing in the absence of the Police. Enjoyed lounging on the grass at the end while having breakfast, a good end of season relaxed run.”
“Very poor water cups in support station, you should give water bottles and not water cups, this was very pathetic to drink water as opening cups is very difficult while running ”
“Make sure there is water on every station. At 16k the station had completely ran out. We went 6k without any fluid ”
“Should look in the value for money, appreciate if next year entry fee is reduced ”
“Great temperature, stunning backdrop. Friendly people, good breakfast. Water at first two stations was poor. Otherwise excellent. ”
“Nice event setup and good warmup session. First half of the course is very narrow, winding and up and down. The section on the sand was OK in parts but where it was soft, it was not so good. The exit from the golf course was a blow to me mentally as the second half was so boring. KM markers seemed to be in the wrong place and the toilet stops were poorly marked (my friend commented that there weren't any but that was just because he did not recognise the poor signage).”
“Nice 1st part around the Emirates Golf course. Though too many sand parts.
The 2nd part around the Jebel Ali race course was a bit boring and the marshalling on the road crossing was not that great.
Also some KM were totally off, notably the 19 KM which was at least 400m in advance!
Would have been nice to provide a t shirt.
Finally, it is now 9 pm, so approximately 12h since the race has finished and we still haven't received our results...”
“The cost of the race (160 dhr) was a bit steep given that no shirt was presented, the goodie bag only included a GU pack and a small white tote bag, and the breakfast after was limited. I ran all four major half marathons this year (Abu Dhabi, DCS, RAK and Emirates Half) and when comparing the costs and what was provided, the Emirate half was far outperformed by the other races. The golf course opening provided something different, but this is NOT a PB course with many twists and turns.”
“Have to say I really enjoyed the race.
The start was was well organised & civilised.
The Hessa St portion of the route was never going to be exciting but around the golf course was fun - who knew there were so many tracks on the golf course?!?!
There were plenty of water stations enroute but I have heard that it did run out before all the runners came through.
And loved the post run brekkie.
Will definitely run this race again.
“First 10 km was great , the second 11 km was aweful, it would have been better to do 2 loops of the golf course than run outside on the road around jebel ali race track.”
“Perfectly organized in a nice setting, with more or less ok support stations, no toilets on the course and poor giveaways compared to other similar events. ”
“Event had a good atmosphere - enjoyed the Golf Course although slow going to begin as a bit difficult to overtake (keeping off the grass :) )
Road section was a bit boring - now if it was around a real 'race course' !
I kinda like T-shirts too
Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers though for making the event happen!
“Tougher than expected with running on sand.
Well organised. Great early start time. Good breakfast. Thank you!”
“Running on the concrete running track. Sand portions were great.”

“Overall, an OK race. The start was narrow, but nice to go around the course as it couldn't be monotonous. The road bit was downright boring - the last bit was technically quite dangerous in trying to find a gap in the traffic to cross over. Water stations were present at intervals but more marshalls on the route would help to show that we were still in a race..
Breakfast was very poor I felt compared to anything else and no t-shirt - has that become the Dubai standard that you get one?”
“Event is well organized, course marshalls were well positioned to provide direction, although I didn't stay for any of the after-run events, it all appeared to be well organized. Commendations to everyone involved in organizing and conducting the event. Thank you Emirates Hills for allowing the course to be made available for the event!”
“Congratulations Anne and Nicki and the rest of the team. Keep doing it. We are lucky to have folks like you who organise such events. #grateful”
“The event was quite nice but they should look at nore signage along race course.”
“Registration and number collection was easy but for the cost of entry, the race is not up to the normal Dubai races.
No tee shirt, poor goody bag and plain breakfast. The golf course track was OK but the road route was very monotonous, ”
“One thing I cannot understand is that WINNERS did not show up when their name was called. It means there is lack of communication or notice to the winners or medalist after completing race”
“Half course inside the golf club, narrow, hard brick road, updown”
“The course at the start was quite narrow .. maybe running the opposite direction would provide wider route for faster runners to pass the slower ones.”

“A great event with an fantastic first part of the course. Sufficient support stations on the route and excellent food at the end.
Maybe it was my running watch, but the km markers were not that accurate and the crossing of the road prior to coming back into the golf club needs improvement so that it is safer.
The course was just right for the number of runners involved.
Well done to Adrian and his team.”
“Big thanks to the organizers, marshals, and to whomever arranged for the clouds to create a nice overcast day. The Faldo course was lovely and I liked running on the path and trails. The second part around the Jebel Ali racetrack was tough (boring, hot) but it was a chance to test my mental toughness. The only negatives I would say are: mis-marked Km signs which made the race feel longer up to the 20km mark, and no t-shirt giveaway although I feel selfish saying that. Would do this race again.”
“Amazing race...Amazing course, especially inside the golf club.
A big thanks to everyone who made it happen.
The only negative point was the drinks and water itself.
I'd recommend the race organizers to use water bottles, as non of the water containers opened smoothly (I opened all with my bite and teeth).
Medals were a big improvement compared to last year's edition.
Looking forward to do it next year”
“Really enjoyed the event, very well organised especially with the breakfast and other stations. ”
“The first part inside golf course, amazing. Then outside the golf club, very boring and marshaling not very good, specially at the time of crossing the streets. No T-Shirt? what a shame.....”
“Marshals were excellent, top work and a big thanks.
The Mai Dubai water company siphoned the water from my pool last night - it was horrible, please don't use them again.
The course itself was very tough to navigate, I know we were informed beforehand but after running it, it was tough Going from sand to path to soft sand back to path and also the slant of the paths made it quite an uncomfortable run. Would be great if you could run up to Montgomerie and run around the lakes.”
“Well organised but breakfast and giveaways lacking compared to when I did the event a few years ago. Shame as lovely scenery and great atmosphere. Had to ask which way to go a couple of times and would have been good to have more time options for pick up of race pack. However, thank you! ”
“First part inside the golf quite nice but not that easy, lots of turns and small hills but that s fine. I fell down on the floor just after the start at the first U turn point, there was water on the floor and no sand to cover it…little dangerous. Second part very boring and without bike to show us the way, i was in second position, alone, and i had to shout 50meters before the station because nobody showed me the way to go..would be helpful if they could anticipate. no fruits at the station.”
“My First Half; happiness..Good course..”

“Well D O N E”
“I have participated several times and I am trying to be constructive so the event can be better next time.
Start was in a corner, it will be better to do it in at least 100m straight line.
I was leading a group of runners and we went the wrong way 3 times because of lack of marshals and no signals on the ground.
Some KM were in the wrong place.
For the same price most other races are giving a good T-shirt.
Overall is good, but needs to improve.”
“Well organised event and really enjoyed it. Would of liked a Tshirt in the pack which we usually get. Also towels at the end of the race.
However, very good event and I liked the course”
“Great race especially into the golf ! Second part, boring because of road but it's fun.
Only negative remark, no food on the support stations...”
