“Cheap, fun run - The location was easy to find, and parking was easy. It seemed like the registrations for the 10K were overwhelming the organizers and the race started a little late. It didn't spoil the race though, and it was good to run on a course free of traffic.”

“Was a nice experience after all. - I would like to mention the negative things i have faced, hoping for the best in the coming times i participaparte * they said they always start on time and they had to delay for 10 minutes, they took more than 10 for the start gun. * race describtion says the run course is easy, in the last email they sent they said we will have about 4K long elevation and was not expected at all. * i would discuss an issue with someone should be responsible, he never paid attention and walked away.”

“Has potential but not quite delivered - The event started nearly 20 minutes late. The point of a 6am start is to limit heat exposure on the participants, so this was disappointing. The first turning was not signalled which resulted in the frontrunners doing a shorter route by about 200 mts, by the time we came around for the second lap, the marker had been placed, after I noticed a car racing around the track. Finally the drinks are given in v small cups, which make it hard to drink from, pls use small plastic bottles next time.”

“Well organised, 3km and 10km, great awards - Super atmosphere, well organized, super location, good fun for kids 3 km, safe and very enjoyable”

“Could have organized better. Start not on time. - Good that I collected my BIB number a day before otherwise maybe I could collect only 5 minutes before the race.”

“Overall average event - The event pack distribution was clearly understaffed when faced with quick build up of participants. The medal looks of poor quality. The event was managed well on average but needs a lot of improvement considering participants were willing to travel from Abu Dhabi early in the morning.”

“Not Enough Water - It is good that somebody is organising an event as weather heats up. The course was good as it was safe and easy to follow. My Garmin did however come in at 300m less than marking on course. Water stations were poor. It is only a 10km but it was hot. The water station at the last roundabout had 1 guy on first lap and we had to cue for water. It cost over a minute in time. The first water station from first lap was gone for second. 85 AED was a little expensive”

“Just the basics - First time at the race. Please provide some kind of beverages to cool down after the race. Even if it is paying, some of us would have loved to drink something different than hot coffee. ”

“You get what you pay for! - Well for such a small registration fees you shouldn't complain about giveaways. One thing that should definitely improve is the bib design. It was just a number with not even the event logo on it. And just one hole in one corner. what were you thinking? Also it's okay if the photographer is using a point n shoot camera, at least have some basic photography skills, like holding the camera straight and aiming! Rest all was satisfactory:)”

“Good - The number pickup on race day is normally good, but didn't work this time around with just a very small table and 2 persons administering it.”

“Poorly Organised, even for Dubai... - Race Pack collection was woeful, reminded me of a poorly run school fete - a huge queue of 50+ people 5 mins before the race started with the collection point held in corridor on a table with no real organisation. It being a summer race it is so crucial that the race started on time - 6am as the heat goes up & up. Race Started around 25 mins late. Unacceptable. 5.45 they were only just putting out the race start flags. Waterpoints were under-manned, no clock as you finished, and I could on....”

“Cheap race with a challenging course - The race is low on budget, which is reflected in the low registration fee, however, the course was not marshaled, the first lap was about 150 meters short (not sure if this was deliberate or because the lead car took the wrong first u-turn). The pictures shared on Facebook are of very poor quality and ;look like they were taken with a mobile phone or a basic point and shoot camera. It is okay value for money, quick, straightforward and simple race, but don't join expecting much. ”

“It is what it is !!!!! - A BIG THANK YOU to all the organisers and volunteers(even if there were not so many this time) it must be a nightmare. Yes there were some hicups this time, but things do go wrong and hindsight is an exact science. it adds to the atmosphere and the challenge. I will always try to support this event, that was my 12th time. its a no fuss, no frills race, great value for money and will look forward to next season again. Thanks again. ”

“Please start on time! :) - The published start time is 6:05 am for the 3km run. It started late at around 6:20 and the sun is already up and without an explanation for the delay. It's not so bad though but it can be improved.”

“Can be a good event if organized better... - Compared to other 10k runs like the Nike We Run Dubai this paled in comparison as it seemed rather low budget (even though entry fees were similar) due to lack of staffing at race pack counters, no bottled water at the stations (station staff were struggling to fill up cups fast enough which slowed down racers) and no race t-shirts, pacers, marshalling and things one expects from a well organized event.”

“Nice place - Water stations with small bottles of water would have been good. Registration failed and regarding the time of the year 1/2 hour delay are some more degrees.”

“Needs improvement - Overall the 10K race was ok, i little disappointed that the race was delayed by 20 minutes especially as it is now one of the hottest times of the year. The course was fine and the marshaling was fine. On my second lap the first water station had ran out of water and there was a line of 3km runners waiting, again i find this unacceptable especially with the heat. ”

“Decent Summer Send-off - I guess you get what you pay for. For 85 dirhams I wasn't expecting the red carpet. There definitely needs to be more volunteers at the aid stations. The aid stations should also offer sports drinks along with water. Other than that, again for the price, you really can't complain.”

“Enjoyable event, a few hiccups this time. - Thank you to Dean and the volunteers for putting on this enjoyable family event. Race pack collection not so good this time, causing the delayed start, and a lack of marshalls on the course/water stations. Other than that, very good value for money and great trophies as usual. See you next season if we are still in Dubai.”

“Many, many improvements to make. A lot. - It seemed as if the event was run by one man. No giveaways, no restaurants open, no staff to attend to water, and poor attendance as well as repetitive course. The medals were poor quality, and the organisation was terrible. The whole thing felt like a last-minute event with minimal preparation. The event was definitely not worth its high fee, especially since it took place so far from the city. Everything was of low quality and could have used much more effort.”

“Shame about the cheaters and registration. - Registration poor this morning but hey ho. Race the usual, no changes. Just a shame that many people cheated on the course and took the shortened route. Only one suggestion, can we advise slow runners (like myself) or walkers to stay to one side. I had people sauntering in my way and many of the 10k runners were being held up. Common courtesy and all that. ”

“Poorly organised - No clock at the finish, so still don't know my time, had to queue a the water stations for water, not enough people manning them! Had to queue for ages to get my bib, had no idea where to go for medal afterwards! Very poor event! ”

“Great event - but water stations need to be better - Support stations were badly organised. The water should be put into the cups before the race rather than during! Otherwise great race, great organisation, and nice medal. Very happy and will come back.”

“There were queues at the water station! :S - When the distance is as long as 10km , the minimum we expect , is the water station to be as efficient as possible. From the events online I see this is not the first time they have held a run , but what really surprised me is that during the run, we had to wait in queue to collect water from the water station. The boy filling in the water, was in no rush , and I felt it was like we were at a buffet service . Might not attend again! ”

“Great Event! - Tough run in the heat but great experience!”

“It's not great, but probably value - Started late as just one table for number collection. Also people's running numbers had been changed making the process even more protracted. Start is a mess. No one there to organize it and the PA system is barely audible. Route is okay, but using water butts at the stations is a nightmare as the staff can't get drinks out quick enough when big groups come past. Medal is a waste of time. Poor quality, just don't bother with it. No premier timing. But it's under AED 100!”

“What happened? - Terrible registration (previouse time always ok); Delayed start; sound system not prepared; wrong marshaling the first lap (shortcut by some 200m) which was evidently mistake; no medals for all 3k participants (my son didn't received one with comments you were out of them). I always enjoyed this event but this time was not right. Hope next season will be organisation again ok.”
