Given the preceding weather, it is amazing that Mirdif Milers managed to make it all go so smoothly. This is a club that has really got its act together. I tend to sympathise with the winner's comments about prizes. I've no objection to the most valuable prizes being awarded by lottery, but there should be a more clear distinction between lottery and competition.”

“A miracle of runners between the clouds! - So everyone wakes up at 3:30am to torrential rain...but some brave souls from Mirdiff Milers get up, find 4x4's, and go to assess the course. Incredible that the race was during the couple of hours of break between the storms, fantastic that the decision was made to race and best of all....someone managed to keep the Donuts dry!! Lovely club atmosphere...bit like a large group of friends getting together...long may the club and the race prosper. Well done all that made the day special. Thank you!!”

“Great fun, great to run and smell wet sand - It was a lot of fun. Race was well organized. I think start should be 7:30 anyways as it is not hot at this time of year and Mirdiff is far for most runners. I missed some additional signals to find the park. Enhancements: Sport drinks in water stations. U-Turn T-Shirt (could be a technical t-shirt) I think having 3 types of medals is a good idea, gold is too difficult though! ;-) Thanks to the Mirdiff milers for putting together this nice event.”

“Another great race by the Milers - Extremely difficult morning for the organisers due to the weather. We all really appreciated the fact that the communications were going out early about the decision points and then the race was slightly held to ensure everyone got there safely. Another classic race round Mushriff park and enjoyed the new course layout.”

“This was a great first race in Dubai! - Thank you for putting together such a great event. Here are things that I thought were great: - I very much appreciated the toilet paper in the bathrooms as well as the cleaning of said bathrooms as the race was going on so that it wasn't so disgusting after the race. - Although I couldn't stomach a donut at the end, this is a brilliant idea and should definitely continue to be part of the race package. - Parking and getting the bib numbers was very organized. These things could be done differently: - It was nice to get information about the change in start time from Facebook, but maybe this information could also be sent via Premier Marathons for those who don't use Facebook. - I imagine that it must be expensive to purchase the shirts. Although it's a great memento, I would prefer a technical shirt or vest that is not made of cotton so that I can run in it. - It is probably also costly to have the medals made each year. It would be nice to have the date and location on it though. - Perhaps have a designated area to drop bags off for those who arrived by taxi. - Having water was wonderful, but maybe use more of the small cups instead of the bottles as most people don't drink the whole thing and a lot of water is wasted. I realize it's probably more of a problem with trash on the ground using the cups, but it seems as though it would be more efficient. - Perhaps give banana halves towards the middle/end of the race. I can't even begin to imagine how much time and energy goes into this event, and I truly appreciate all the work that everyone puts in in order for it to be such a success. What a gentleman, I woke up a little bit late, wend out in a rush and forgot my chip! he simply smiled and said: Its a bad weather day but im having a good day, wont charge the usual 50 aed! its a small amount but the gesture itself was just amazing, took my stress from being late away and helped me concentrate on my run! Thank you! I came back from an injury, this was my first Donut and first 10k race, what really helped me get through and actually pic up my pace was the amazing and so cute kids handing us the drinks, I loved them, all of them, marshals and volunteers were great, everyone so cheerful and helpful. Honestly, I enjoyed this one the most out of the few races I participated in, what a way to come back! Thank you and see you next year!”

“Great race as always - I love this race and the organisers did well to avoid rain-related problems. The delayed start was a bit of a pain for those of us who were there in plenty of time but I guess it was unavoidable. The only criticism with this race - as every year I have done it - is the loos. There is really only one for ladies and it got blocked very quickly. Please can the park open up more loos or could portaloos be provided. Otherwise, great race, superb organisation, many thanks to all involved. ”

“Great course! - I really enjoyed the course this year ! I was a little disappointed that I received a medal on just white ribbon, because they had run out of green with the year and event printed on it. Considering there was a lot of no shows due to the weather you would think there would have been more medals .. I convinced 14 people to do this run from our group and 4 of us received the white ribbon medals, they were more than disappointed considering it was their first donut race ! ”

It was good to compete in a different kind of challenge from the other road runs in the UAE....the distance and the challenging but pleasant course. Pre-race communications were good and the course was well marked. The start was a little confusing - running for 500m before crossing the timing mats - but that didn't detract from the experience. Donuts much appreciated!”

“Great course, medals and donuts, not so great info - I really enjoyed the route around Mushrif Park and the race itself, plus the medal and donuts were excellent. However, if, like me, you had never been to Mushrif Park before, a decent map, orientated the right way (most maps point North by the way) and some directions would have been great and a dedicated race page with communications about it where they could have posted about the weather and what may or may not happen in the event of bad or severe weather. I am sure it was tricky to make on the spot calls this morning about whether or not to go ahead when there was a thunderstorm lurking (and they made the right call, well done), but unless you were a Mirdif Miler who knew to look at the Facebook page, how was anyone else supposed to have a clue what was going on? And as for the start, I never heard the instructions or the claxon that started us off, no count down or anything. They had a nice portable PA system, why not have it at the start and then move it to the finish (so that someone could say wise things like " come on number 36" - I wonder if number 36 if knew that was their number?)? So, thank you for a nice run, medal and donuts and for the all the volunteers who handed out drinks, much appreciated, but some better communication could make this even better in future.”

Weather conditions actually helped to make it a great run. I'd never ran at Mushrif Park before, but it was a great course with a good mix of elevation and flat track. Great work Milers!!! ”

“Where are my detailed results? - Bad Points: 1- I am not an owner of a classic championchip, so what do i get to see when i log on to premiertimings? nothing? just my finish time? well thank you so much (i already knew that)... this is so disappointing. Would it really hurt anyone to display the detailed results to everyone? 2- Anyone could have easily made a U-turn in some points of the races, not enough chip mat scanners Good points: 1- Awesome effort by the organizers, marshals, volunteers 2- I like how the medal colors reflected finishing time 3- Course was amazing, enjoyed the donuts and happy to get my shirt :) 4- Everyone was so nice and friendly Overall race, Enjoyed it so much, worth every penny i paid, thanks to everyone who had this organized and made it such an awesome event.
