“It was great to get out there with the Doha community for a run on Sports Day. The weather was perfect, the track was easy, it was a fantastic time. ”
“Event Racepack is insufficient as no available size on the 2nd day of collection. Giveaways could be improved next year.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed Doha Dash 2016, and I think it was mostly very well arranged. Easy access to food and drinks, registration etc.
On the negative side, I was not very happy with the very short and messy warm-up, there should be room for the participants to run a bit in advance instead of just doing jumping jacks a couple of minutes before start. Also, in the schedule online it said that the 5 km would start at 09:25, and in the pamphlet we received when we got there it said 09:15.”

“It would be nice if the encouraging signs and the workers were cheering for the runners to push our selves to the limits like back in 2014 there were holding signs written on it go or you can do it & so on.”

“Well organised due to Premier online Communication. Without that online Service there seems however to be no way to know about it. Medal for 10 K could state the distance. Time keeping as all Services from Premier online are outstanding. Will come again. Thanks
“I think more could be done to make the event more family and children friendly, for example, allowing parents to support younger children in the 1k. ”
“Overall the event was great.
I would put forth my stumbleblocks.
1. The venue assembling point had no one to guide to the start point of event. There was no public announcement made to guide us to start point. I had reached at 7.45 am & was lost waiting for any formal announcement to assemble at a start point. I started 20min later from event time of 8am.
2. No signage for start point. I found that in front of me as 'no entry' but failed to see the way to the track.
Hope it's taken note.”
“Thank you for the competition, I enjoyed it. I want to wish that on the next race competition was organized for people with disabilities. It is very important.”
“Better signage on the course - I only saw two signs - one at 2km and one at 7km. I'm sure others were there, but they weren't easily seen. It would be helpful to have larger signs placed on the ground.
It would be nice to know where the water stations are - how many km out
I would like an electronic completion certificate for my personal records
Update the map directions - they started with drive towards the golf course - if you don't know where that is . .
“There are more activities from previous events especially for children and lots of freebies as well unlike now. The medal should have engraved the distance finished so that it will not be unfair to those who have paid much like the 10km. ”

The music was way too loud at the entrance. It gave me a headache.

“Loved having Dame Kelly Holmes there, she was fabulous with children and adults alike. Also Mr Q added to atmosphere. Events started on time.
Slight niggle, bag drop needs to be streamlined, esp. as so many people leaving same bag!

“Good organisation overall, nice breakfast from the w if a little basic. The bag drop was awful, took 20 mins to get my bag once I had finished! They had no organisational system whatsoever by the looks of it”
“More on course water stations. Should have one at each mile, especially on dry windy days. Support for bag check was poor. Only one person was capable at finding more than 1 bag at a time. It was painful to watch each staff search for 2-4 minutes per bag, except for the one main staffer. Other than those two things--which is where most of my staff interactions were, it was a fun race itself. I wouldn't mind seeing results sent out in gender age groups, too. Rock 'n Roll races do this.”
“Would have been good to group results into age categories. Also , is on the expensive side for a 10k.”

“Wished to have my wife participate if she didn't have online technical issues with registration which lead to missing the registration deadline. Hen i spoke to the organizers about her will to participate they were no helpful at all, responding by "its full now, she should have registered online"”
“Lovely day and lovely atmosphere. I will definitely partecipate again and I will involve as many friends as I can.”
“Please can you set a Senior and Junior category next year as the kids should not be competing against adults for places, and likewise it's embarrassing for adults to have to race against extremely fast 10 year old girls, smaller trophies in order to have two categories please would make this a better, all-round event.”
“I've seen lots of the other comments and tend to agree with some in terms of the 10k route and transport issues. However, whilst the 10k fee was relatively high, QAR 50 for the 3k run gave you the same giveaways. Didn't use the bag drop but imagine that is a busy part of the set up and will always need well trained personnel to go smoothly. Another f&b outlet would have helped and especially additional seating. Negatives are minor and easily outdone by the positives. A good day & will return.”
“The registration pack pick-up at Villagio Mall is a logistic pain (would be better to collect at the venue on the day). A plan of the course included with the registration pack would have been useful for 1st timers. Would have been better to start the race earlier to take the sun/ rising temps out of the equation. Other than that, really enjoyed the event and hopefully will be back next year.”
“A good organized event, especially compared to other local events, and I thank the organizers for that. My biggest disappointment is the very cheap medal and the tshirt size which supposed to be Small but is actually at least L or XL size, which is generally a recurrent issue in almost all past events I participated here in Qatar that hasnt find yet any fix despite all the feedback provided on this website. The goody bag could also be improved. Well done and see you next year.”
“Excellent set up for the race. Excellent venue, far better operational set up than I imagined. Having done other races here I was surprized with the professionalism that the event ran with. Great route, water when needed. Been to far more expensive races in UK and Europe where much of what was offered at the Doha Dash is not offered. Nice packed lunch after the event. Only think I found a little bit difficult was finding somewhere to warm up. Well done again and see you next year!”
“Had a lovely day. The organisation worked very well for us, getting there, getting parked, finding out what to do - all very easy. Dame Kelly Holmes was a superb ambassador, and the host Mr "I love Qatar", was excellent. The atmosphere was great for families, and my daughter who did the mini dash, feels that she has achieved something special.”
“It was an awesome event with everything set and done on exact time. Very happy to be there, but there are 2 concerns I had:
1. Medal was not even up to the mark or expectations.
2. There should have been some paid transport facility arranged since most of the people were stranded after the event who did not have transport.
But the rest of it was pretty good.”
“My one concern was the lack of transport going back to town for those like me who came in taxis.”

“My biggest concern is regarding the medals...10k and 5k runners should have distinct medals..plus the medals quality can improve massively!”
“The online correspondents were so prompt and helpful. Should've had water stations every 2K mark. And the warning signs were missing where there were road gaps for cables. One friend who ran the 3K even had a spill and had bruised knee because of this. The medals, it is still wanting in quality. Looks cheap and wanting. Should have engraved the race distance finished. One of the staff even gave it away for a non-racer. Overall it was fun, but we would appreciate if it improves next year.”

“Although this event was extremely well organized and efficient, there were not enough water stations. Only after nearly 3km did runners arrive at a water station.
“Well organised event, starting in time, all km where market and there was sufficient water with one station for the 5k. I would suggest not to give bottles open without the tap because I wanted to keep some water in the bottle while running but then with the bouncing was going out. So it is a good idea to open the bottles but keep the tap please. I liked the T-Shirt, I think is good quality and also the food pack. There were lots of families with kids running 3k and 1k, fantastic!”

“The race itself was very well organised however while running a support station would be good every 1 km other than that it was a really fun filled race!”

Sports drink would be nice to be given eg Gatorade ”
“Great course, although indication of the route would have been nice. Good support, great organisation and started on time. Very happy overall. Bag drop/collection was a little disorgansied - the dropping off was very organised but when it come to collection we just walked in to pick it up which was convenient but felt a little lax (security wise).”

“Enjoyed the pre collection of race pack and the staggered starts, which made the day more relaxed and very enjoyable. Bag drop was the only negative, otherwise a very well organised event. ”
“An extremely well run event that is a credit to the organisers. One thing I would change is the medals. For the guys that ran the 10k not to have a medal that reflects that is a shame. Maybe next year the ribbon on the medal could show the distance ran. I will be back next year.”

“1- the route of the race was sent prior the event also the water station location and i ask about it via Twitter and no one replys.
2- when the race start for 10 KM i wasnt informed there is no mics or speakers to tell everyone " Please go to the start line we will begin the race "

“Organization and start/finish pavilion (including a great job by Mr. Q as emcee) was excellent. Course for the 10k was boring though, going mostly through the track infrastructure, rather than 2 laps of the track itself. Also, bag drop area was woefully understaffed. I felt badly for the very nice young folks doing their best. Overall, a very fun, high-energy, well-organized event!”
“It was an interesting course of one lap only (10k) which had the added surprise of a slope in it.
It was great to see so many people taking part in all the different distances.
Make it even cheaper and get double the numbers to make it a mass participation event
Sports day is a great idea and well done to the organisers and track officials for marshalling the event
“Volunteers needed better training. Someone needed outside ladies toilets letting people know there were more toilets nearer the start Queues too long. (more toilets would help). Poor bag drop. Needed more volunteers/ training. Baggage tags too small, and they needed marker pens. Training in laying out bags in number order. Not enough volunteers as runners trying to hand in bags while others were trying to collect. Needed seating at finish to encourage runners to stay. Overall good event. ”
“First time I ran this race. Well organized, but the pack collection suposed to be available on the race spot. Also, they could be supported by any store like go sports and give some simple but nice souvernir.
In general was good, but for me is still expensive for a 10 km race.”
