“Always nice to have a different challenge - This time challenge with yourself and a mountain, compared to the flat races in Dubai, ... Great event, would participate again, but hope some improvements next time: - waiting +2 hours to get bike back was not good.. - would love to go downhill with bike too... - dispute about breakfast... although I checked afterwards, I did pay upfront for breakfast, but was not on the list and not on confirmation email, so they asked for another 40 AED, which I didn't want to pay.. 110 AED was already a lot”

“Terrific event, very well organised. - Extra bike van required so as to not delay the return of bikes to the start line and delay the departure of participants. Or better still, let us ride back down the mountain. That was my only dissapointment, not being able to ride back down the mountain again, after all that is half the joy of climbing a mountain on a bike - the descent. In fact, this is the first time in my cycling life (+40 years) that I have climbed a mountain but not ridden back down. Agh!!! ”

“Well organized event! - The course was challenging enough but nice. More breakfast next time. Some of the dishes ended before the last cyclists started their breakfast.”

“Great test all round as a rider - Would have liked to have had my bike back sooner after the finish. I understand it was tough logistically as there were many bikes to transport. I would have been happy to have ridden back down too or fetched it myself. Overall though a great event and I'm happy to have partaken in it for the first time. I will certainly do it again. ”

“Wonderful - Great race with a very nice spirit. - Great race with a very nice spirit. The 35 K loop "warm up" is a bit boring though. I went back 4 hours after the end of the race and I was disapointed to notice that the support station location was still messy and not cleaned. In addition I found quite a lot of empty bottles all along the Jabal Hafeet road. Except the above two negative points, all the rest was really great and nicelly open and diverse. Very affordable event.”

“Tough day out - Great to have the roads up Jabel Hafeet closed making it as safe as possible for the cyclists. Really hot day, could have done with another water station at about 7k up the mountain. Thanks to the organisers and fab volunteers.”

“A very good event - Very well run event and extremely enjoyable race from start to grueling mountain top finish! Wish there were more events as well run and as affordable as this. Only small niggle was having to wait a long time for our bikes to be transported from the top of the mountain back to the start, but this can easily be addressed for future events.”

“Great event overall! - Really enjoyable event and overall very well organised. Others have voiced disappointment at the finish organisation, I found it well controlled when I was there. Bike seemed well looked after and didn't struggle to get on a bus. It was a shame not to be able to ride down, especially after seeing plenty of others doing it seemingly without consequence. Turn 3 was very dangerous, it could have at least been swept. Breakfast was poor. Race volunteers very friendly and helpful. Would attend again.”

“An excellent event. - A great event, made better by the tireless effort put in by all the organizers, volunteers and police. What an opportunity to be able to ride up Jebel Hafeet with the road closed to the public. The police did an excellent job keeping the entire course safe.”

“Jebel Hafeet Challenge ride ... - Most enjoyable and testing event. Satisfaction of completing the climb. Really good organisation and delivery by 'officials' before and during the event, however the end was a disaster and spoilt the day for more than a few. Everything appeared to fall apart once you crossed the finish line. Buses were too slow, police created more problems than solved them, getting bikes down off the mountain by the 'so called' arranged transport was a joke, but not funny.. waiting 2 hours ? Really???”

“A nice event...especially if you like pain! - Great start and finish locations. Great value for money. A nice, quiet course. Turn 3 was dangerous -- way too sharp and narrow for 100 riders! Returning from finish to start took too long -- the police kept stopping/slowing the already slow bus unnecessarily, then I still had to wait 20 minutes for my bike. There is no need to use all three lanes for the uphill race as it's slow and spread out. Two lanes should be for uphill race, one for those wishing to cycle downhill back to start. Thanks!”

“Awesome ride up the Jebel Hafeet - Great with closed off roads all around, generally well organized - but a few glitches: 5 mins with a broom would have cleared the last bit of sand and rubble at the turns, marshals were not in place at the last roundabout (exiting the flat loop) and then quite some waiting time to get the bikes back .. Didn't receive the text with my finish time? But overall a great experience, I'll be back ..”
