For a newby it really helped to visualise the event and course beforehand. The only hitch for me was having my timings mixed with someone else, but thankfully that got spotted after I checked. “Fast & Flat - I have high hopes for this series. It is well organised and the setting is great. No traffic to contend with in the water or on the track. The event in itself is fun and exhilarating, and there was a good mix of serious competitors and weekend warriors. They have a couple of sponsors on board, but I feel that by throwing in a couple of giveaways and goodie-bags they can attract a much bigger field. The breakfast is a great initiative, and it was sad to see it not being supported. Perhaps consider shorter rookie distances (like a single lap of the swim and run) to attract the more family minded competitors. ”

“Well organised and executed - A great event, but next time perhaps needs a little more bang for your buck. AED150 is a little steep for organization, a swimming cap and race number, not even a finishing medal. Not that I am particularly phased by not receiving a medal. Perhaps even a T-shirst would be nice. Doesn't need to be a sports branded shirt...just a cotton shirt with your brand and event printed on. A great venue with loads of space, perhaps if the resort allows it spread the course out a little more, particularly the run. The timing was excellent and the results were posted in super quick time. Thumbs up. Overall well done on a great first event.”

“A beautiful little course, superbly managed - Simply delightful. I travelled over from Qatar for the event and was a little awed by the obvious calibre of the participants. The marshalling however was friendly and supportive, and all aspects of the organisation was superb. A lovely course guaranteed to give you a shot at a PB. I hope that the event becomes a regular fixture - and would be great to see Race ME come to Qatar...”
