Could be improved: More toilets at the start line, sound system at podium, better signage, i.e. signage was very visible during the first part of the HM but was a bit further than expected (according to my watch). Maybe those were 10K signage? I did not see any indication of the distance during the second half of the run. Maybe just me.”

“Chaotic finish stretch and lack of taxis - Although I enjoyed the event and felt the course was well marshalled and marked, the final stretch proved chaotic with finishers walking away (towards runners) and cars exiting the car park, blocking the road. They need to isolate the finish away from this traffic in the future - I had to stop for a car coming out of the car park! Also no taxis at the end - don't assume everyone is driving - and a 45 minute wait to hail one. ”

“Well organised event - Overall another successful AD Half Marathon so well done to all involved. Parking improves year on year, despite increases in the number of participants. I hoped for a towel at the end to mop myself down but just got the medal and some water, no towel, banana, lolly or anything, maybe they had run out? Agree with some other comments about asking people to move out the way if walking, particularly the 10k runners towards the end. Course is pretty soulless after half way, but always is sadly..”

“Fantastic event! - Really well-organised. Great course if looking for a PB. Good marshaling, route was clear and easy to follow. Water stations were plentiful, albeit my only gripe is I hate those tubs of water you have to peel the lid off as they are just too difficult to drink from on the go. Much better to have small bottles of water you can run with. Also, if I'm being picky, although the t-shirt is good, there was nothing else really in the goody bag. But overall, fab race :-)”

“Finisher Medal need to improve - The only thing that disappoints me is the finishers medal this is my first international half, and I had run many half marathons in the USA. I am used to receiving awesome medal. I am looking forward on receiving a well designed medal, but, it is not what I am expecting. I usually base my run on the finisher's medal. If I have seen the design of this medal prior to registration, I would have skipped it. I do not mind paying a little bit more for a grand finisher medal.”

However, I was really thrown off by the poor signage for the half - didn't see a single marker until Km 4. Some markers were signs, some were flags (but they got lost in all of the other flag ads on Yas Island). Made it really difficult to gauge my progress, especially toward the end of the race when I had to ask others how far we were. Will not go into another race without my own tracking system!”

“Well organised but overpriced - It is an amazing event - enjoyed the run thoroughly. But it is overpriced, considering that majority do not use the water theme park, esp after a hard run. Organisers may consider providing a coupon for future use. The breakfast organisation was also poor - since there were long queues, people were tending to overload and waste. More counters would help. Also, I thought it was unfair for the late finishers that: 1. the shower locker use was valid only uptil 9:30; 2. no bananas available ”

“It was fun but the timers were in a hurry to leave - The event was well set up and collecting the pack was very efficient but it was hard to know where to check in on the morning and the music was too loud. The cheerers and water volunteers were great but at the end it was lonely! The cones were collected up and timers in a hurry to pack up at the halfway point. “Good race overall - Race was up to expectations although delayed 5mins. Course is nice and (mostly) flat, views are okay, event pickup was easy for a Dubai resident and post-race giveaways were good. Not too happy about the last part in where the 21km/10km runners got together, because of different start times I happened to run my last 2km trying to avoid other runners which were doing their own different pace. Support stations were many, but in one I was needing water and the volunteer was looking elsewhere.”

“So good. So very VERY good. - This is a great event that continues to improve every year. LOVED the cool down area at the finish, plentiful water, quality medal and running shirt AND access to the waterpark! Parking for this event has never really been an issue, but this year's parking management was yet another improvement. Shout out to the course volunteers, with extra points to the 5km turnaround team -- so enthusiastic. Also: the live percussion band was ace too. My last Funrun in AD. I'll miss this event.”
