“Great pleasure - Cold sponges especially when weather is hot”

“A decent event - Relatively easy swim, could do with splitting into 2 waves, flat cycle and run.”

“This event opened my appetite for triathlons - Amazing organization and awesome spirit.. definitely i am doing it over and over”

“Expensive to enter; less organised swim than other - I agree with most other feedback - swim wasn't very well organised. It didn't make sense to send super sprint, Olympic and sprint athletes off so close together. Water stations weren't plentiful enough & it was hot by mid morning. Race bags were a waste of money - better to reduce entrance fee and just give a medal. I think most will throw the caps & towel away.”

“Something needs to be done about the swim course - Out of 5 2XU events, this was the worse: the sea was full of sea lice at the entry/exit. It got stepped and freed in time by all the passing swimmers, causing a dramatic "Halloween" feeling for who was trying to finish the last 50m or so. This only happens at this time of the year with warm waters, so for the 2XU 1/3 2016 scrape the sea bed by entry/exit where all this sea lice is nested so the athletes can walk away without the horrible hitching and burns. This and a wider swim course. Thanks”

“Issue with aid stations - The volunteers at the aid stations were overwhelmed. I had to skip it twice because i didn't want to stop and wait. one extra volonteer should have been enough. the olympic water start was kinda messy, i think we didn't had enough time to properly stage/seed ourselves before the start. then it was the fight but it always is... may be too much people (250) for one wave in such a small place.”

“Love the race but aid stations are terrible!! - I love the Mamzar race overall but I think the aid stations are sub standard to the point of dangerous. It's extremely hot out there but the poor volunteers can't give out water as quickly as it's needed. Would it be that hard/expensive to give out water bottles to competitors. Maybe even an isotonic drink considering the heat. I personally ran with an isotonic drink as I knew I couldn't rely on getting adequate fluids on the run. Maybe bike marshals out on the course too - stop the draft cheats”

“Maybe more swim waves? - Great community feeling. Swim: perhaps two or three waves for olympic distance to avoid water fights. pre-alert on jellyfish prevention. Bike: awesome bike track - perhaps a less of a sharper U-turn could help? Run: water stations without iso drinks. people distributing the water dipping the cups in big containers and sharing water while putting their hands inside the cup. no readiness to distribute water. Lack of timing/split time at end of 2.5km with possible cheating options...”

“Well organized, great fun - Overall experience was great. It was smooth for transition, everything was well explained and we had a great support along the way (special thanks to water stations). Couple comments: - Water stations - it would be good to have another person on it as quite a few times there was a struggle to get water on time and some people were waiting for cups to be filled. - Timing - I am 100% sure that my transition time wasn't collected in a proper way. That should be fixed. ”

Richard P. - 02.11.2015

“Wave size too big - Sending all the Olympic distance competitors in at once was a bad call. The swim course was not large enough to take it. (I understand there may be time restrains with respect to road closures, might be easier to start the event earlier and at least split male/females waves) Bike course was fine, however having pedestrians wonder across the road is an unavoidable pain in the neck. The run course could have used more water stations but again was acceptable.”

“A fun race - Swim course needs to be changed next time. The single buoy at the far end causes too much head on traffic. Put two markers at the far end instead. Some more porta-loos would be good. Otherwise a fin and good race. Looking forward to the next one.”

“Swimming conflicts - Swimming groups schedules could be optimized; super sprint have been colliding with most advanced groups. I have brought 8 beginners to Triathlon and they all got scared of the swimming part. I believe there shall be more time left between the groups.”

Miquel M. - 02.11.2015

“Very dangerous race. Bad organization - I have done 10 triathlon in my life and this is far away the worst organization. Just one wave in olympic distance, and 5 minutees later 1 wave of sprint. Men and woman together. more than 600 people. This should be very controlled. If this is like this next time, no one of our triathlon team will be registered. We don´t pay to fight in the water, just to swim. ”

“Good location - nice set-up - Was unlucky as I came out the day before to the mall to pick up my racepack, for it not to be there. On raceday however they recovered with assigning a new number (electronic tracking was ok with the new number). Swim was a bit chaotic (and some jelly-fish stingers). Overall a good race for a first tri. The gift pack was a bit meager (I had hoped for a bottle or a T-shirt), compared to other races. Organizers were very approachable and did do a good job.”

“First ever Triathlon very enjoyable - Great work by Warren and his team and a fantastic vibe around the event. Only "issue" was the sea lice coming out of the swim but personally was not to big a deal for me. Appreciate this isn't anything anyone can control. Great atmosphere and thank you for making my first experience such a great one! ”

Barry W. - 02.11.2015

“Difficult swim... - IMO - needed more swim waves, too many people starting at the same time. Not much you can do about the jellyfish but it was like swimming through mild electricity. Great work by volunteers, super helpful and informative. ”

Andrew H. - 01.11.2015

“Very well attended event - The course is great (protected sea, no cars on the road, and run along the beach), so very safe. It was a very enjoyable event to participate in, just a shame about sea lice / jelly fish - which the organisers can do nothing about!! All positive really, although the prize giving got a bit delayed, but the results were quickly available, although if you missed the link, they are not easy to find! Thanks ”

“The best location in Dubai for a triathlon - Overall a very positive experience. Great location, well organised. Looking forward to the next race. One complaint: when I see my results as published by SuperSports, the overall timing of the race is no doubt accurate but I have doubts on the timing of the various legs of the race. Also, my average speed on the cycle and my pace for the run are inaccurate. ”

“Great venue, below average organisation - The swim start was very messy for olympic, it should have been done over waves, the limited horizontal space available as most of the swim is parallel to the beach meant that you get stuck behind slower packs for longer part of the swim and get nowhere close to your potential. as i've seen in past years.aidstations not properly stocked, water is barely cooled. seeing station oprators pouring my cup of water from what looks like a garbage can hints at the skimping approach these organisers take”

“Good event - Not enough water on the run and bottle would be better than plastic cups which were 1/4 full. No timer at the finish line. Event didn't start on time. Jellyfish eggs/sea lice in the sea caused a rash and itching. Not enough space between bikes in transition. ”

“Great course and well organised. - Great course and well organised. A couple of improvements in the pre race briefing (a little clearer instructions) as they were delivered for those triathletes that had either done the course or experienced ones, I would spread the water stations out a little more or add a third one in. The marshelling on the bike course needs to be improved from slower riders riding on the left when they should be on the right causing potential crashes. Small improvements but a great morning.”

“Can you bring back the bouy north of swim start? - Hello Once again, I really enjoyed the race at Mamzar on Friday. It was great to see the addition of the EcoLoos :-) The even was well organised and the course marshalling great. I understand the race organisers cannot do anything about the sea lice but if you could keep triathletes away from shore I think this would alleviate the problem. Could you bring back the big bouy due north from swim start for example? And make swim route an inverted triangle? Thanks! Marcella”

“Great event overall - except the swim leg - First, thanks to the organizers for the mechanical supports and the overall great organization. It would have been even better if the swim leg had 2 buoys instead of 1 for the U-turn. Also having waves for the start could be a good idea. ”

“Too many people made the swim very unpleasant - The swim was one of the least enjoyable I have ever done. Too many people in a small space between the buoys at the start created chaos which I think was verging on dangerous at times. I also got horrifically bitten by jellyfish/sea lice. The bike and the run were fine and the organisation overall was pretty good. I will not do the event at this time of year again.”

“Nice course but too many people - The course was nice but there were too many people. The Olympic swim start was chaos, would have been much better to have wave starts. Lice were horrible but clearly not the organisers fault! Aid stations on the run were few and far between, and it would have been nice to have electrolytes or coke in addition to plain water. Giveaways were poor, especially the visor. Post race food would have been a nice touch. ”

“Well organized but some of the logistics insuffici - Overall, the event was well run. it's a great venue for a race. I disliked the sea lice/jelly fish/or whatever it was causing me to itch for the rest of the day. The race pack pickup was horrific. Why should we drive for a race number and a chip to Dubai Mall + fight for parking (took me 30 min to find parking and 20 min to get out). There are other Go-Sports at locations that would be better suited. Or do like at the Roy Nasr race: Hang the bags on the bike racks next to the numbers”

“Overall far too expensive, needed staggered starts - Organisation is great however why is the entry price so high? There needs to be an option for cheap entry without the 'giveaways'. Why cant I select that I do not want to have yet another coloured swim cap. It should be bring your own or select the option to purchase the correct colour. Again this applies for the towel in the bag and the other items too. ”

“Well organised but a bit boring - - Execute REAL marshaling to avoid drafting and cyclists lifting bike over mid-section (!!) - Widen finish to make it a bit of a welcome - Put up large poster-board with swim route and instructions, including the order of starting for different categories - Install "village" on the beach in a square. Then it may be used, also after the event - Have music along the complete run - Make it more of a "party" so people will stay after finishing”

“Great Event - Great event, well organised and good venue. Timing though is not correct in the super sprint category-the cycle times are slower than they should be and run times faster. Enjoyed the event and will definitely compete again.”

Karim B. - 31.10.2015

“Great event overall - Event pack pick up prior to event is inconvenient, should be hanging from bike rack on the day. Super sports website is not mobile device enabled and results don't appear properly when searching from a smart phone or IPad. Swimming leg is too congeste, could you stagger start by ability or age the giveaway bag is wasteful, don't need towel and foam hat, medal is enough and possibly making fee a little cheaper.”

Mikki D. - 31.10.2015

“Twice as big as last year caused problems - Familiar event has doubled in size which caused a few problems. Swim not entirely safe due to: mass start with little width for the pack; triangular course meant many head-on collisions at u-turn point at far buoy. Run 1km water station ran out of cups (not water), this was very difficult for those on long course not carrying their own water in the mid morning sun.”

Justin S. - 30.10.2015

“A few complaints - There were a few problems with the race. The first was the lump start - putting 270 people on top of each other and then making them swim in an area confined by ropes is a disaster. You could have easily the competition into age group waves. The second is harder to solve: the sea live/baby jelly stings were awful to deal with. Allowing the use of wetsuits would have helped greatly. Last, please give us bib numbers we can take home and hang on the wall. They're more important to us than medals.”

“Really interesting. - After 3 yrs of nagging, the portaloos were welcome! But still no cold water on the run and still an unnecessarily congested swim. It's really awesome to see triathlon growing and SS organising races every year but come on guys, how do others do it? Fun fact from today. Let alone blatant drafting (from the fastest guys!), if all people running with iPods or topless were DQ'd, I'm sure I'd be on the podium! I'm a guy and would LOVE to run topless or with iPod, why are they allowed and not DQ'd? ”
