“Great event, would for sure go again! - Great race but sad that the Golden Tulip increases their rates 300% on race night. Could use a few more course markers outside the Wadi. Volunteers were AMAZING! More communication on bag drop return would be nice and the medal is kind of lackluster. But overall fantastic time!”

“A brilliant team event - I have been doing this event 3 years straight and have noticed and improvement in the pre event registration process. This year however there were some let downs in the event start up. Some teams had rash drivers which were hazardous to runners and there were no officials to intervene. The medal quality is horrible this year, although I guess we can attribute this to the falling oil prices. But it remains one of my favourite team races.”

“The best race weekend away in the GCC - Wonderful event! Only small suggestions would be to: (1) improve allocation of t-shirt sizes to what people asked for (2) put a couple more directions/signs on the route between the start and the start of stage 3 (the bit turning left at the very start of stage 2 and the transition from track to road in stage 2 confused a few runners...who admittedly weren't paying attention in the briefing!) (3) is there any way to differentiate soloists medals and t-shirts from team ones? ”

“A great race, but organization needs attention - Whilst this is a great race and one we hope to participate many more times, the organization needs some serious attention. We know this is a "family" event, but it is also a race. Race timing needs attention. Race marshals should at least be briefed (and help ease congestion). Handover points should be as per the map (they were not this year). Teams continually cheat (driving legs, mid-leg changes, not doing minimum 10km). Team compositions not checked. Very little medical cover! ”

“Breaking the monotony - Great race, and I will definitely get ready for the 50 or 72 next year. What a change from the monotony of the flat road races in Dubai! Just one area of improvement... Towards the finish, the runners were spaced so far between that additional signage is needed to bring the runners home on the right route. Remember, the route looked very different when we started in the dark :-). We were struggling to figure out which turn to take to get back to the hotel.”

“A true experience - Would appreciate if there was some special about the medal telling my I finished the solo 72. Also could be better on race information online, for people to prepare. What to expect, what to carry etc. Otherwise I really enjoyed the event and specially the race itself.”

“Great event. Will do again - I love WB. Please be a bit more organized with the start The border situation remains a pain in the butt! A bit more signage on the last 10km would be helpful - as I am a bit foggy headed by then, and there are several opportunities to make wrong turns. This is important please. Thanks See you next year”

“Wadi-Bih is always a classic - not to be missed! - Great event and organization. This is my second time....goodie back for each team member please, as we fought about who will keep the bag at the end :) Improvements: 1-Please make it clear that a head-torch is needed! i nearly fell during the first segment as it was pitch-black with no moonlight 2-The dust is a killer so please include a notice for people to carry a scarf or a mask .. Great event otherwise... cannot wait till next year! Maybe solo this time Thanks!”

“Nice scenery but too much road running - Well organized event and great scenery in the mountains. I would include some real trails in the course, road running is really boring. Especially when returning to Golden Tulip the flat road felt endless. Signalling could have been better in the village but otherwise I did not encounter any problems following the route. Aid stations were great and staff really friendly but it would have been helpful to know in advance what is available.Start time is unnecessarily early, 5.30/6 would suffice. ”

“Overall a nice event well organised - T shirts was disappointing - just too small and a pity about the border crossing”

“Great event for the weekend - Despite the warning and recommendations from the organizer on crossing the border i arrived early and it still took the guys one hour to find my visa registration at collection point (had to make a phone call, visa was in the wrong box....). 72K is a long run for slow runners and at 12:00 there is not much shadow, i would recommend to start even earlier. Aid stations were fine, but haven't seen anyone in case of emergency. One day you will have a problem. Too many cars driving on compacted sand.”

“Well organized and fun event. - All arrangements were well prepared and everything worked well. There could have been a few more direction signs during the first/last km's of the course.”

“Great event ! - A very nice event; My only comment would be to improve the marking in the village/city. Coming back from the 50k, when it starts to be sunny and you start to be "little bit tired", marking need to be obvious to not have to think of "where to go", which was the case for me, alone in the city.. Thank you for this beautiful trail !!”

“A superb event for solo runners and teams - Just as awesome atmosphere as last year! Very well organized event - strongly recommended for everyone who's into running (either as a solo "ultra-runner" or as a part of a team) in the UAE.”

“The people at the support stations were amazing! - I Fully understand the need for all the visas to be processed in time and unfortunately this year, again, we had lots of problems uploading documents. I continually got emails (excellent communication btw) stating problems with my uploads, corrupt documents etc, when the exact same documents could be read by others in emails. I don't know the solution to this so it's not a major complaint or anything, just hassle for all involved. It's a super event overall, THANK YOU for all your hard work! ”

“Great family, friendly, social event. Thank you. - The event was fantastic in all respects. One gripe, if I may, was the amount of running on paved road. The first 6-7 km was on paved road. So with the turnaround this means 12-14km on paved road. I did the 30km solo so basically half of my race was on the road. I would like to see the race start perhaps at the beginning of the dirt track to avoid running on the road. Otherwise great event all around. Thank you.”

“Absolutely Brilliant - Fantastic organization. Incredible logistical effort to get 2000 participants through the border. Great venue and food. Course as good as always. But best of all, the time keepers who spent from 4:00 am to 5:00 pm on each day ensuring that each runner / team was recorded. Nothing better than crossing the finish line and seeing Katrina on the time keeping. Many thanks. ”

“Great event/weekend getaway! - Great race with awesome scenery and an energetic atmosphere. Really fun race and crowd. Shout out to all volunteers! It is good for those moving into the longer stuff. Could have been better if the distances are more accurate. The 50km turned up 52.4km, turning point of 26.2km. Have done this event once in a team, a couple Solo 72km and one 50km this time. Other than that, great event!”

“Nice race; aid station food needs work. - This was my first Wadi Bih. I did the 72K solo. Pros: - Easy registration - Good value - Location is relatively close to Dubai - Border crossing was easy and well-organized - Event staff were friendly and supportive Cons: - Starting at 4:30 am. - The food available at aid stations was essentially limited to green bananas, cheap Halloween candy, and protein bars. (LOW CARB protein bars?!?) I wish I had known in advance that the food situation would be so dismal.”

“It almost broke me... - Having run the 72 Team Relay an number of times I finally got around to running the 72 Solo. Fantastic support from the Aid Stations and other runners/support crews. Ran/walked from 60km and shuffled the last couple of kms but loved every minute. Definitely a well organised event and would recommend it to anyone considering entering. ”

“Good event - The organization was great. The route signage was not very detailed as many participants went to the wrong way during the race. Also there were not enough support stations.”

Filipe T. - 06.02.2016

“Very good between Sport qnd pleasure - The organization, the security and the Run package (t short, medal, gel, water....were good). No need to worry about the cross boarder paper and all organized. The buffet was excellent after the run. If you go camping in the park, just one point to be careful : the place where you install your tent because some people were not discret and they disturbed my night. An advice : to camp left to the hotel (not the 1st park)more quiet. Overall impression : very good trail ”

“Extremely well organised, loved it from start to f - My only comment on return when it's daylight, some more signs as was unsure if it were left right turn or straight on at a couple roads. Otherwise it's first class.”

“Just a great event. - Support stations crew thanks so much you were great. Good organisation and the quickest through the border ever ,thanks to all for making that happen. Only comment is that the medals / ribbons should differentiate between the distances . Very many thanks to all that made this such a memorable day.”

“Great event for Ultra Marathon options - Brilliant organisation and support. Medals are inferior for the gravitas of the event. The t shirts are good but design colours could change anually and the distances should be distinguished -_eg Solo 72 Race packs should contain more give always”

“Good job to organizer. Too much tarmac on 30k run - Overall a very good event. Will do it again. I've uploaded the right documents right away, so no issues on visa delivery. Camping site by the beach was good, BBQ from Hotel was good. Start at 5.30am is a good idea, otherwise weather too hot by the end of the race. I was looking forward to run mostly inside the Wadi, but too much of the 30k was on tarmac. I understand the course it is designed more for 72k, but I was disappointed (maybe get creative next year?). Good job to the organizer.”

“Best of the best - I've always enjoyed being in this area of Oman and to join the Event is even more enjoyable for me- very serene and wonderful to participate. Organizers are almost perfect. Thank you and see you again next year. I just hope no more cars to speed up, more signs/awareness to limit 30km/hr to avoid dusty road.”
