The Wadi Bih Run was the brain child of John Gregory & John Young and this edition marks 28 years since 1993 when a total of 80 hardy souls ran, in relay teams of 5, from RAK, adjacent the Arabian Gulf through the dramatic Wadi Al Biyh before climbing to over 1000m and descending to Dibba via the dramatic narrow gorge - Wadi Khabb Al Shamsi - with the stunning trajectory of the mountains adjacent the Gulf of Oman.
Due to the passing of the Sultan of Oman the event has been postponed to Saturday, 14 March 2020.
The event provides a fantastic opportunity for team building and camaradie and is especially intended for: running groups, families, corporates, social and school groups.
The classic TEAM 60 for 5 runners. The route is split into stages, with CP markers and the teams own support vehicle (4WD ESSENTIAL) transports the other team members along the route. The 5 runners run stages of between 2 to 4 km with 4 runners on the first and last stage and 1 RUNNER on the other stages with a total distance of about 60 km with an average distance of 12km per runner and a minimum of 6km covered by each runner. Runners will select their preferred stages on the team time sheet.
This year there will be a new format the TEAM BUDDY with 2 RUNNERS on the intermediate stages with an average distance of 20km and a minimum of 12km covered by each runner.
SOLO run categories are : Mountain 72km, Canyon 50km, Zighy 30km and Lake 15km.
In order to be eligible for prizes, each team must comprise of at least 1 female runner.
ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO UPLOAD THEIR PASSPORT AND VISA COPY ON PREMIER ONLINE FOR BORDER CROSSING.

    IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
    The event is held in Dibba Oman which requires crossing the UAE - Oman border in Dibba. Normal immigration procedures are not followed but, apart from Omani and Emirati nationals, all participants who are on a UAE residence visa must upload their passport and visa copy via the Premier Online registration platform prior to the event. Participants who are on a tourist or visit visa to the UAE must upload their passport copy. The uploaded documents will be used by the Dibba Beach Resort to prepare a road pass for each individual. Participants need to collect their road pass from the Dibba Beach Resort PRO at the collection point immediately before the border post. All participants must have their passport with them for the border crossing.
    Participants need to retain their road pass, to hand back at the border post on their return journey.

    Mountain 72, Canyon 60 and Ziggy 30 - Hard. Team relay and Lake 15 - Moderate.

    Support stations ONLY FOR SOLO RUNNERS with water, energy drinks & food

  • Team Buddy Category

    Since its inception in 1993 the classic Wadi Bih team run has provided thousands of runners release from the hustle and bustle of concrete jungle city living. A hallmark of the run is the team members running together on the first and last legs to form a long lasting fraternal bond. This year we are taking this fraternal concept further with the TEAM BUDDY category where 2 runners will cover each stage giving more run kms to each participant. Running pairs (buddies) can rotate on different stages depending on individual runner strengths.   • Document Uploads

    Once you have completed and paid for the registrations on Premier Online you will be requested (red banner, top of page) to upload a single PDF document with both the copy of the current passport and UAE visa for EACH REGISTERED PERSON. You must upload a SEPARATE file for each person. An option (and link) to use 'PDF Burger' (- simple feature to combine multiple files into a single PDF) to combine your Passport & Visa page files will be provided at the upload stage.

    Help minimize delays at the border by submitting your documents as soon as you register; and register early!
    You WILL be able to complete your paid registration (now) and go back later and upload the required documents but please note that your registration will not be considered valid by the Event Director until all required documents have been uploaded by the due date.
