The Omani territory of Madha or Wadi al Houra is an exclave of Oman, surrounded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located halfway between the Musandam Peninsula and the rest of Oman.
And it has such great trails for hiking with breathtaking views of nature beauty, as it involves waterfalls and lots of greenery and palm trees.

Included: Refreshments, Qualified/Experienced English-speaking guides, Snack (One Sandwich), Juice (One small flavoured juice packs), Fruits (Two Pieces of different fruits), 2 Liters of water and First Aid.

  • By what time should I arrive at the event venue?

    Please try to be at the event venue at 6:45 AM.

    7 AM

  • What are my options for parking?

    There is a large area where you can park you car safely at the meeting point.

  • Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

    No, you are expected to carry everything you might need for the hike.

  • How long will the hike be and what time should it finish?

    The hike is 12km long and should take a total of 6 hours, we will be done around 1:30 PM

  • How technical is the hike?

    This hike is considered an intermediate level of difficulty. There will be no need for technical equipment or skills but a basic level of fitness is required.

  • Will there be transportation provided from and to the event?

    Transportation will not be provided. A sedan will be able to reach the meeting point and 4x4s will be able to drive right to the starting point. If you are in a sedan arrangements can be made to transport you from the meeting point to the start.

  • What will the schedule be?

    06:45 AM be at the meeting point.
    07:30 AM is the briefing time at the starting point.
    10:30 AM we reach the end of the trail.
    We hit our way back and take a break for snacks and pictures next to the small waterfall.
    1:30 PM we reach our cars.
    Take a group pictures change and hit the road back home.

  • What do I need to bring with me?

    • Backpack (Recommended with good shoulder and waist straps).
    • At least 2 power bars
    • Hiking boots (recommended with ankle support).
    • Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.
    • Basic Aid kit (Advil, Band-Aid, antiseptic, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, etc.)

    • Trekking poles (It is recommended to use to get comfortable with them for future and more challenging hikes. It also helps takes off some of the pressure on your shoulders and knees).
    • Hiking shorts and shirts (dry-fits work)
    • Hydration drinks
    • Water Bladder (keeping your hands free as it will be some area will be required to use your both hands)
    • Snacks / Fruits
    • Power banks for your electronics to survive the hike

    Jeans, sandals, flip-flops and cotton clothing are not permitted on this hike.

  • Is there any additional information for the event?

    • If you are a vegetarian kindly notify us 3 days in advance.
    • The itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, road condition and operating conditions. In any case, the guide has the right to change the program for the safety and convenience of the participants.
